  • A squad mate of mine used something similar. Tank x 6 Sniper Cannons. His was equipped with a faceplate. I can attest that these kinds of tanks are extremely potent. I'm sure this bad boy was a lot of fun to roll around with back in the day =)

  • im so into mech games..... i want this game!

  • @muffinboy101010 servers are down, but it's still fun if you play with a friend or two in splitscreen i think

  • I looking also this videos today

I cant believe it that the server are down =(

    What did u play today?

  • Yeah it's a bit depressing - when you kill the servers to an online game like this the game is ruined. You can't even log in to just tinker with mechs anymore...

Don't really play anything anymore - life moves on and so do careers.

  • I suppose I can substitute the sniper cannons with regular cannons for an urban environment? I was thinking Anelaces...

Or even a couple of million shotguns.

  • I wouldn't recommend it - the hound is very wide and low to the ground. This would normally be an asset but in cities it means you get stuck on corners much easier. Plus urban fights are all about splash and grenades - both of which tear through low built hounds much faster than they do tall hounds.

I'd suggest instead something tall, and skinny. Ideally with lots of splash or nades.

  • So, Mr misfit with a few assault rifles? Maybe those triple-burst ones...

  • The triple burst ones kinda suck actually. I'd say if you take something like Akuma replacing the cannons with howitzers. Alternatively triple singles work really well in the city.

  • Well, they work for me. I suppose I should just pick any powerful med-weight assault rifle instead? Also, how would howitzers work in a city?

  • I reccomend a build where you have at least six sc200 s for a start because when you set them to the best heat they work well on bases and very much so on hounds. then after that move on to a tougher houd killer that uses the ispa spacer to hide the cockpit and six sabres on rj 400 or something

  • I hate RJ's. Big and slow legs do not make for a very good hound but they do make for an easy target. You can actually use 6 sc200's here but I'm not fond of the shot performance so I prefer the 3 sc200 3 sc100 mix.

  • Yeah i know what u mean but i am more of the type that just sets their legs at a sideways angle so i can strafe so when im standing still its harder for them to hit me and the extra load is a bonus. but after all these are only opinions so neither one is truly right

  • so i guess what im tryin to say to you cheezit is that dexter and i have differences in opinion and you and i have differences in opinion and you and dexter have differences in opinions so what you should really take away from this is like how the cockpit weapons etc are set up and then just change it to meet your taste... in truth there is no secret to good hound building its just using your imagination to build a machine with technical precision in game and max out its capabilities.

  • I have to say, you create the most interesting hounds. I mean that in a good way. Now I am trying to create a good sniper hound but I really don't know where to start... Any pointers? Oh and what is this song?... it sounds like Apocaliptica...

  • Glad you liked it! I'd suggest a good starting point would be to take any of the sniper builds you see floating around and just start tweaking it to fit your own style. Just make sure that the sniper cannons are arranged in such a way that the recoil is both minimized and actually helps the shot. Wing and ARC snipers (like this one) actually use the recoil to better the grouping.

As for the song - it's at the end of the video. Sorry, worried about copyright BS :(

    Hope that helps!

  • I LOVE this HOUND.

I was screwing around facing a squad of 3 at the same rank as me which at that time was Sergeant or somethin round there, and I took out 1 of em was working on the commander they had but i wasn't paying attention to the HVG and he destroyed my base.. the only downside i could find was the recharge time on the weapon...

  • Yeah - pure snipers always have that problem. Even w/ the 3 x 3 arrangement here you at best have 5 seconds between shots. That's a LONG time...

  • o m g this is amazing! why do you need the johnston cp? as you said, "This is a heavy sniper alternative" as in all you are doing is sniping. Ive taken xhoguex's brook c-pits against people and come out with all my snipes and my nades and more than half of my legs and cpit still there. What are the tactics that you use for this one?

    plz reply!

  • Treat it like you would a 5 banger or quad sniper. As a dedicated sniper your prime danger is splash from long range howies. The heavier pit lets you sit through the fire easier.

  • one weak spot is if you are shooting someone just a little lower than you and someone else countersnipes your pit. Good otherwise!

  • Yeah that's always been the problem with those long tarakian medium cockpits.

  • I dont agree with your design . I beleive all tread hounds have to be 180 mph any slower and you will be tore up with nades or Assualt riffles which is 9 times outa 10 which the opponents use but nice effort . keep trying. .

  • The problem with that logic is that you're assuming closer range combat. This is a heavy sniper alternative. It's meant to replace a 5 banger - not a DP. The intended role for this hound when played well should never come into grenade range and AR's will be nothing more than an annoyance.

  • like the way you put your buildvideo tougheter!

not a big fan of treader snipers, but we all cant like the same stuff can we:D

    good work!

    love ufin

  • Thanks!

  • Hi iam pretty new to the chromehounds game and i was wondering i no this is a very nooby question and a long 1 but who makes the best:snipers, missles, legs, cockpits, cannons and finally howitzers

  • Snipers: Morskoj SC200. The Tarakian Sabre is also good but it's a free download part so you can get it at any time.

Missles: I'm assuming you mean heat seekers in which case you want the Sal Kar Khadrawat.

Legs: There's a few options here. Inverse you want Sal Kar Naqa. Tread you want Tarakian Custer and Meades. I'm not fond of anything else other than those really...

  • Cockpits: There's a LOT of options here. Really you can't go wrong as long as you: 1 - Use the heaviest cockpit reasonable for your hound type (frontline hounds need larger cockpits than snipers and scouts). 2 - Do not use the massive Morskoj 7 slot pits as they're too big to be useful. I'd say a good rule of thumb is to start with a Morskoj C110 and go smaller from there.

  • Howitzers: The best is the Tarakian Faus. This is closely followed by the Sal Kar Ghayma and the Morskoj HW300. For most purposes though the Faus will meet your needs.

    Hope all that helps!

  • They're not for everyone but I like some of their stuff. *shrugs* If you prefer I could have the hamster dance...

  • "let me apologise to begin with,

let me apologise for what i'm about to say,

trying to be genuine was harder than it seemed

somehow I got caught up in between."

    LINKIN PARK FTW!!!!!

  • nice, keep up the good work!

  • Do people still play this game, or are their just a few elite groups left fighting between themselves?

  • People still play. It's interesting how despite being old there still seem to be plentiful new players. That and you can get the game cheap used now...

  • Yeah, I have the game still, but the last time I played, everyone acted like dochebags with their hounds.

  • I won't lie to you - most of the players do know what they're doing and won't hold back. You have to be careful. If you jump into say a free battle and the team you're on has a bunch of low ranks and the other a bunch of higher ranks then you should probably get out while you can - it's going to be a slaughter. I've found that some skilled players tend to stack teams and often are jackasses in how they do things.... kinda sad really... Most are alright though!

  • Glad you liked it and good luck to you. Let me know how ti turns out!

  • ^^;

    Music

Linkin Park -- In Between -- Minutes to Midnight

  • its nice and good but i dont like playing with just raw firepower like this.

like to be small and fast and kill things at range.

great hound though and cant deny its effectiveness

  • It's not for everyone. This is intended as an alternative to the heavy snipers like a 5 banger or one on RJ's. In that role I think it surpasses them by quite a lot in all aspects. But of course like any other dedicated sniper it has some grave weaknesses as well.

  • Is that a serious question.........

  • Guess he never made it to the end of the video... or just opened the "More Info" tab...

  • Most of the time I don't like treded snipers, but I think I will try this one because even without compensation it's a nice shot grouping. Great job on the build:).

  • If you're not used to treads then it's quite a transition. If you're used to treads however it's pure pleasure to drive. Not to mention staring down a sniper scope is so much easier when your view is not bouncing everywhere from the leg movement.

  • Put KE in the 100s so they'll have faster projectiles =D

Other than that it's a cool build.

  • Glad you like it! I'm not a fan of the penetration power drop off of KE shells though, not to mention not sure the shot will stay good. I'll give it a try though.

  • This is great! thanks muchly for the design will really help!

  • Not at all, glad you liked it!
