what PEOPLE shuld relize about edgerrin, was the fact he never DISRESPECTED his oponenet, by celbrating a big play, considering EDGE has "crazy stats"... the fact EDGERRIN never celbrated, showed class.. most athletes are fraud.. ex "BIG BEN"
I can only imagine the number he would've put up had he not blown his knee out vs. KC early in his 3rd season, after winning the league rushing title his first 2 years.
dont compare the 2...edge was the best pure runner possibly since barry sanders. had he not blown out his knee emmit smiths record would probably belong to #32. addai is a great back, but not a franchise back, hes more of a RB by commite type guy. when he has a solid back up or even starter like his first 2 years hes great but he cant be "the guy". however he is also better at receiving then edge (who was great at it), and he is the best pass block back in the league stops, guys in their tracks!
What's funny is his little cousin Javarris was signed as a free agent to the Colts.. He had awesome vision and patience in the backfield, maybe he can have a chance to finally live up to his last name and make it on the team. He's just so damn slow..
He may have had a nimble streak to him -- but injuries throughout his college career didn't help matters. Much like Frank Gore and Willis McGahee, both were lightning bolts in college but have lost a step due to injuries.
JJ was very good for us, but if you put him in a footrace against the other backs we had during the '09 season he wouldn't match up.
2nd ballot hall of famer in my opinion, my one knock on edge is that he would fall down if he still had a chance for extra yardage. still a great back tho

he was such an asset for the colts and cardinals. he was so good at getting that extra yard or two. Very rarely had negative yards. He was very important to helping the Cards get established on a path towards credibility. He ran for multiple 1000 yard seasons behind one of if not the worst run blocking o-lines in the league (cardinals.) He was one of the reasons Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin were able to become so successful. I think he will be in the HOF some day.
love the edge but he was a bitch and ran for the money. which inevitably killed his career. he didnt even earn a ring the colts just gave it to him. he is a hall of famer but def. not a first ballot or second ballot. maybe like a 4th/5th ballot hall of famer
