  • Damn. in the US something as simple as a Snickers Bar can cost 3 dollars.

BTW, do they sell stuff like Milk and soda there?

  • @johnson1095

Food is not sold at this vids store.

(The section of life miscellaneous goods:this vids 1$ shop)

but, also available in 1$ food store.everywhere in Japan.

  • @johnson1095 They do not sell milk, but they do sell Soda. and japanese snacks too. utensils, stationery, containers are also there. :) I do go to 100 yen shop a lot of times in a month ><

  • DAMN SO GOOD XD NOT LIKE MY 1 DOLLAR SHOP !

  • I would stuff my van full of those cup ramens. Then I could NEET myself over the winter with those >:P

  • These stores exist in America and Canada. They;re run by a company called Daiso and they're $1.50 stores because of the transfer rate changing drastically.... but all the items there are still good quality and I usually shop for household items there. Like a for pots and pans.

  • lol, the t-shirts feel like paper

  • 50 /60/ Cent of euro :D SHOP

It's freee :D In japan all europeans are... millionaires :3.

  • Wow, this place is HUGE. A typical $1 store out here is generally about 1/3rd the size and has considerably less stuff.

  • Is this a Daiso 100 yen shop? I know they are popular over there.. :)

  • 77 yen is 1 dollar

  • @Spazzosity - That's the thing with exchange rates. For quite some time the jpy - usd exchange hovered right around (not always exact, but close) 100 yen to $1. It's much less than it used to be and fluctuating in both directions (mostly down) more than it used to.

  • Recently my job received a huge shipment of these items from Japan and a customer who used to live in Japan told me to look up 100 Yen Shops. Those black and red bowls are sitting in our store now lol. I love how many of the items are really useful for organizing a small space.

  • jeezs! i wish i can go there.. but no to far if i fly from malaysia to japan! cuz we're in asia :)

  • 2:56 Did I just see a toy gun without the orange thing on the front? Do they not put those on in Japan? Seems like a bad idea not to...

  • And how is the quality of the stuff? :}

  • @PixieNyanChan it's good,i went there before

  • for how long are you in japan

  • dude! you should SOO buy this stuff and sell it! for like 2 or 3 dollars you'll earn profit!

  • this is fair go to china or Phils and you can buy these as low as 25 cents

  • Hah, they look like the 99-cent-only stores here in California.

  • Comment removed

  • i would end up spending @ least 500,000< yen in that shop!

  • WOW!! In America people would gripe and say that they should get everything for a dollar and how it is false advertising! I think that is cool that they can do that. I work in retail and people gripe over .50cents if something is in the wrong location.

  • elo matue nelsous eo coules!!!

  • OMG! Why are those cheaper than the $1.5 dollars shops (japanese) in my country?!! Those have better stuffs too - no fair!

  • I was wondering if someone wanted to move to Japan, would they be able to apply for a living visa. Or would they need to work there for a year+ first? I wanna move their after High School and University.

  • thank you for the video :)

one question, are the bowls, teapots, etc good quality at least? haha just curious.

  • Binders here are like 7-15 dollars T_T ..Soo Jealouss ><

  • how did you get into japan? dont you have to have a reason to get it or sumthing?

  • The good thing about this is its MADE IN JAPAN and its good quality

  • damn! this ish so cool!! it like daloor tree in usa!! omg!! your so lucky!!

  • I miss these 100 Yen shops. There are so many creative, well-designed items with reasonable quality. We have One Pound here in the UK, but it's not the same.

  • i spent so much money at those places.... x.x

  • It is as corny as the 99¢ only store in the states. I love it. If I visit Japan, that would be the first place I would o to stock up on supplies for the stay.

  • this is unbelieveable. i have never seen a plate that costs $1. in my country, buying everything you need for your appartment, as you say you did, will empty out your wallet instantly. at least you'll enjoy the stuff, cause you wont be able to afford going out :)

  • Everywhere I come I see these kind of stores and they're great!!!! And when I get home there is not a shop to be found anywhere.......I always thought the dutch where about turning every penny around!

  • If you were to bring some of those Japanese plates and bowls here, they'd sell for over $5 per plate at most stores. Some stores sell 2 plain plastic square plates and 2 sets of plastic chopsticks for $20...it's rediculous.

  • Man! Why doesn't the Daiso in my country look like that? Sighs... they don't ship all the good stuff out...

  • he i got a queation do you have a vidoe how to count yens ?if you dont can you make one please

  • omg im shocked! i thought dollar stores were only in the us!

i MUST find a way to get to japan! :D

  • Wow! and I thought our dollar stores were crazy!

  • this is better than dollar tree

  • We have a shop in Sheffield in England where you can buy stuff for 99p (99c). Sadly most of it is terrible quality, especially the batteries.

  • whats the music playing?

  • wow so much usefull stuff for 1dollar

  • time to start a battery smuggling business

  • I wish there were more dollar stores with instant ramen and tea sets here in America :((

  • MADE IN JAPAN lol

  • You can buy just about any of those things for only $1?? Even the fancy glass jars, cups, plates, etc. that look a lot MORE expensive?? o.O How does that store stay in business selling so low? Hm... I mean, most of the "dollar stores" here in the states usually don't carry fancy stuff like the one in this video, at least the few times that I can remember. It's basically cheap stuff.

  • @whoo689 These stores buy usually direct from the fatories over productions, which the factories cannot sell anymore to their normal clients. And they sell it for any price, just to get rid of them. And most is good quality.

  • ~daiso

  • Over here in Canada, in British Columbia we have Daiso a $2 store which looks very similar to this... great vid =) thanks for keeping them coming

  • i just found your user man, AMAZING videos my goal in life is to go and live in japan... im spending hours watching all your videos its like being there.... keep them coming onegai

  • @dbako

    Thanks dude.

Over 20 hours of Japan videos on this channel so far.. so it should keep you busy.

  • I am a dollar store junkie and this looks like heaven on earth for me.

  • I heard that the right pronounciation for ''yen'' is ''en''. Is that incorrect?

  • @catkac

when talking about the currency in Japan its the Yen (¥) but -en(円) is a place counter when talking about prices in a menu in a restaurant a item might be 100 yen would be listed as 100-en or 100 円

  • @ShyQABoy Thank you :D

  • i went to the hyaku en stores twice... spent 5000 yen the first time and about 4500 the second time.... slightly addictive i must say ^.^

  • "Lowest price guaranteed" my ass Walmart

  • I love Daiso.

  • somewhere a hello kitty fan is loosing her mind knowing they might have hk items for a buck there XD

  • o.0 the Buzzer Beat Theme song...great xDD

    I like these shops...we have 1 euro shops too^^

  • Are these items MADE IN JAPAN? or MADE IN CHINA?

  • we have $1 batteries too. :D

  • holy buckets!!!.......they have way cooler stuff & (probably more useful) stuff there then the USA dollar stores...do they have a (WAL-MART) there?....if so, do there carry (great-value) brand foods or (equate) brand health care product...lol like the cheap stuff they have in the US?....thanx,

  • Omg B'Z song in the begining, the store has good taste :)

  • @usagiyuzuki wats the name of this song

  • @TopOfNewYork90 ichibu to zenbu

  • where does that shop being located in japan??

  • This makes American dollar stores look like crap.

  • 100 yen is the stuff of good quality

  • this must be Daiso!!!! it is all over the world hahahah

  • damn why can't we get dollar stores with actual good stuff and dont get things that don't make sense

  • Nice to see the dollar store is universal....

  • thanks for showing us around the 100 yen shop. Great cos it bought back memories. U said its not the most exciting video uv made...but hey...I found it interesting:) Cheers.

  • Awesome. A Japanese dollor store.

  • Thank you! Now I know where to go when I make a trip to Japan! I was worried that I would have to spend a few 100,000 yen for a few house hold items. T_T

  • wow the dollar stores in usa...

    sell pretty cheap stuff...

  • why can't american dollar stores be like this T^T

  • Have you done a video on clothes.

  • @twitykiddyme

    Check the "fashion" play list.

  • This is wayyy better than the doller shops in America

  • tea time!

  • that is quite a lot of nice things for 100y

  • computer $1 LOL just jokeing

  • does it say made in china on any of the things there?

  • POUNDLAND :P

  • where are u???? in tokyo or? :O

  • I'm just interested whether Japanese export especially these kind of low - cost products....

  • They IMPORT these/most of these products from China.

Japan is NOT a mass scale factory like China. (I know that not all of China is industry but you know what I mean...)

  • Though you're right I'm still not getting the point of benefits for Japanese... doubtful statement to claim Chinese economy increased 5 times in recent rime just due to these products. :)

  • Benefits? Well given that the products actually cost very little (nowhere near 100yen), the benefits are that the Japanese gain a profit. Simple :D

Also, there are loads of these stores dotted around the place. People use them as well. It's a small profit but they're doing it on a mass scale so I'm guessing that it aint that bad.

PS. I didn't claim that the Chinese economy increased 5 times in recent times just due to these products! Where did that come from?

  • would you be considered "cheap" if you shopped there, because... I WOULD SHOP FOR EVERYTHING THERE <3 awesome.

  • oh my... that place is huge!

  • We have dollar stores over here in the USA but they pale in comparison! I'd be at this store every week if they had one like this over here!

  • Daisoに いくと いつも 目が回って クラクラします。

  • It sounded like you said: Nice sets of balls or like: Nice sacks of balls or something similar at 1:04

    hahaha

  • japanese poundland lol

  • Aww. Love the teapots. So cute. :)

  • The Japanese hundred-yen store is a symbol of the deflation ;)

  • :O look at those tea pots !!!!!

makes me sad i paid sooo much for mine :(, well comparing it to a dollar.

  • i knew how recent this video was from the music in the background towards the start! XD

  • Reminds me of the 1 € shops we have in Berlin.

  • Dang. That's gonna be, like, my first stop when I move to Japan.

  • Good Gawd a WalMart sized !00 yen shop!

  • awesome what u can buy for 1$ O.o

  • yaay for B'z in the background!

  • I would like to add my voice to the others...these are great videos...I am going to Japan for an extended stay next year and this is the stuff I need to know....... keep up the good work!

  • Thank you!

Check out the "how to" play list if you haven't seen it already :-)

  • No need to apologize! These videos are interesting in their own right. You can buy a lot more dishes in the store you visited than in the dollar store near where I live... And way more clothing, too. Other than big meals, I practically live off of dollar stores. ;)

  • stop apologizing for your videos man, there good keep them coming and we'll keep watching lol =]

  • Thanks friend :-)

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom When i was in japan i bought heaps of BB guns since you can't get them in australia. would it be considered reckless, scary or impolite if a japanese person bought one?

  • What district is this one in? The one's I've been to didn't have good stuff in them.

  • Even the dollar stores are better over there.

  • WOW man im so going there haha

  • ours(USA) does price some over a dollar but maybe only 2-3 at the absolute most and only for big things

  • Pretty absurd that even though it's a 100 Yen shop they still price some things over 100 Yen. In the Dollar Store EVERYTHING is a dollar. Most of the food is stale or tasted like crap though...

  • B'z ichibutozenbu! :D

  • omg hey we have that! except its poundland and its an extremely cramped shop lol

  • 5 stars for the dollar hammer and funeral tie XD

Anyhow, this shop is still better quality than the one euro shop where I live... Not to mention that there's tons of food :D Senbei daisukiiii :D

  • Do they drink much alcohol in Japan? What is the nightlife like there?

  • Yes, they do.

    Nightlife is good.

  • dont forget the tax !

    haha it adds up! :p

  • It sure does :-)

  • dude our dollar store has none of this!

if this dollar store has manga tell me T_T

when i go to japan for 3 months this coming up summer im soooo getting a ton of manga :D XD

  • ya 100 yen batteries can't be all that good! buddy buys batteries at the dollar store for his digi cam and wonders why they dont last lol

  • i want some of those bowls!!!!!

  • Yeah, pretty amazing for 100 yen, aren't they!

  • yeah. im thinking when i go there im gonna buy a bunch of stuff i really dont need. its gonna be awesome!!!!

  • I would be too paranoid to use a hammer only worth a dollar. With my luck the head of the hammer would fly off, and kill me.

  • Or it might hit your hand :-)

  • LMFAO XDD

  • nice ichibutozenbu from Buzzer Beat!

  • I wish our dollar store had teapots and dishes like that.

  • We have a dollar store here too and I love it xD.

  • Id' buy a whole bunch of those tea pot and tea cups.

  • Cool! The stores are so BIG! *_*

  • Lol. Buzzer Beat in the background.

  • wow, I love these tea cups and these typical japanese stuff ^^

we only have chinese shops :-(

  • Compared to the Dollar Stores here.... JP wins.

  • daiso man how many hrs have i spent there when I was in japan

  • 100 yen shop is amazing. it is necessaly for many people in Japan and me!

  • There are over 5 of these "99 cents" stores within a 3 block radius from where I live, here in Queens, NY. But it looks like the ones in Japan are actually worth shopping at!!! The things sold here are cheaply made, that's why it's so cheap. They sell party items, cheap playing cards, and cheap cleaning items, like buckets, detergent, etc. I would love to buy sake bowls and drink sake all day.

  • That just gave me an idea. Maybe you should make a "how to" video explaining more about drinking and the nightlife, or drinking at a party, because I'm sure that there's the western way to party, then there's the "Japanese way" (quoted from the TV series SHOGUN!!!)

  • I live around more or less of the same amount of 99 cents stores in queens and it sells crap

  • Yeah, those stores are great XD

    Great videos.

I´m looking forward to see more ^^

  • 210 here already and more coming soon :-)

  • I´ve seen some, not all of them. It seems I have lot to watch XD

But it´s going to be interesting

    Thanks!!!

  • WOW a place like that would make life so much easier. The dollar stores in America don't even have things that cost only a dollar. Usually $3-5+. Also they don't have anything like that, usually little toys.

  • Yeh, whats the point of calling it a dollar store if they have 3-5$ sutff. The dollar store near by my area does the same thing. And it easy to confuse it all with a dollar cause you think it should be a dollar..

  • Whoa Buzzer Beat theme song in the background!!!!!!

    DAISO!!!

  • the longer handled sickle or kama. at 2:11 i would buy all of them in the store. or at least 10 of them. make a kasurigama

  • the kama or sickle at 2:11. shit those are great ninja weapon. send me one lol. i am serious

  • we have dollar trees out west here and i love it. they even sell groceries. and frozen foods. frozen pizza only one dollar. anything one dollar.

  • Awesome!

  • holy SHIT look how neat everything is!!!! Go to a dollar store in NY and there's stuff piled everywhere and shit all over the floor (sometimes literally!)

  • O my god those slippers look comfy

  • haha cool! :D

  • I would love to shop there!

  • great vid:D love so see stuf like this:D

  • cool, I bet in this economy that store is thriving!

  • hahahaha u cant find that in any dollar general here!

  • You should do a vid on KENDAMA XD

  • A 1$ store that has better stuff ^.^

  • can someone explain how dolar stores work? Why is stuff so cheap? Any catch. Do the companies even make a worthwhile profit

  • goods are Chinese made and they are dirt cheap

  • Which ダイソー is this?

Biggest one I ever seen cause the one I went was small xD

    (Country Side)

  • Definately a good place to rob

  • thats way better than our dollar store. the plates and bowls were actually pretty cool looking
