I lost interest in them when Steve Clark died. I just didn't seem them as the same band. In my life time, we've lost Steve Clark, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Dimebag. These 3 guitar players changed a lot of lives, including mine.
i reckon they should make a new re-recoreded version of Hysteria album and see what happens, like as a 21st Anniversary Edition or something, maybe that would work. I think the problem lies with the 1980s image they had during the Hysteria era, which makes people's perception distorted as an "old" band
exactly :D i also thought that instead of Pour Some Sugar on me being their most famous song, like in the 21st Anniversary Edition, they should write another good song, but more modern pop/rock
yea, i was listening to "Two Steps Behind" this morning and thought that would be a good one to promote, then i thought they should re-make a accoustic version of the Hysteria Album, having a similar sound to "Two Steps Behind"
it is good, yes :D now if all the other songs on Hysteria can be played like that, then that would be a good start. i was also listening to "Songs From The Sparkle Lounge" and noticed the modern tone, now if they could get that into the Hysteria songs, then that would sound very good for todays musical audience
yup im also in a band and we will be coverin a few songs by def leppard like bringin on the heartbreak um mirror mirror and switch 625 and stuff like dat
awesome :D some songs are too hard to cover like Armageddon It (Due to the vocals) and Don't Shoot Shotgun (again due to the vocals) Try Gods Of War, but a shortened version or Hysteria
I think they would. Def Leppard's music is timeless. I'm 14 and all this new music today sounds like a vomiting piece of shit. I listen to the older music from the 60's, 70's, 80's and some 90's. It's ALOT better than the music today.
@TheGamingGuitarist ur right, new music today sucks so bad, back in the 60s 70s and 80s rock bands were real, they were not fabricated rock bands, i cant think of any new band out there thats good, i think the future looks really bad for rock music, look at what we have now, the jonas brothers, and all these disney chicks who cant really sing so they use computers to make them sound better,
@TheGamingGuitarist i have to admit that it was nice to see avril lavigne kick all those un talented boy bands and britney spears ass, when she came out all that bullshit music died for awhile and everyone who was singing all that pop crap started copying avril, dont get me wrong avrils pop to, but with an edge, except for her new album, she sold out to everything she was against in 2003, but shes so hot who cares
I noted your screen name - and it seems the kids of today who appreciate and recognize how great the music of yesterday was are all musicians. Pick up a guitar or some drum sticks and you'll know what goes into making a great song - great band. You start to know where to place Miley Cyrus as opposed to Led Zepplin.
I saw Steve Live in 1981 on the high and dry tour. Awesome awesome concert. I have to say the reason I don't listen anymore is the way they discuss Steve's problem's we know he was troubled and I for 1 am sick of them making THAT his legacy. What a lack of respect for their friends PRIVATE battle.
hold on a sec...thats not what they are making his legacy. in this video, they were discussing him as a person, and that was part of who he was. they also mentioned in this video how steve was a great human being and how he contributed great guitar work for the band that will always be a part of def leppard. THAT is his legacy.
Every interview with the band has been the same since Steve died, they talk about his drinking 1st THEN discuss his contribution and as a HUGE Steve fan we only want to hear how great he was and that's IT. If it wasn't for Steve's urging a 1st gig Def leppard wouldn't be what they are. His real fans don't care about his problems now that he's dead and it makes the remaining members look like they are downing him for it.
i think the only reason they mention his problems is for any new fans that dont know alot about the band and want to know about steve. just like every interview they mention how great he was and how much he is missed. if you look at some music vids on youtube of DL, some people actually ask, "how did steve clark die" the newer fans havent seen every interview.
plus, you can tell in all the interviews that the band really appreaticated and miss steve alot. why would they down steve? steve was their FRIEND. and they mentioned in this vid how they wouldnt be where they are without steve.
one more thing. they didnt say his exasct problems. they just said he had some "family problems". if they said his exact family problems, then you may have had a point.
God I miss the 80's
