If you want to watch and record TV, swtich your TV input to Cable/Satellite and get a dvd recorder, Tivo or recorder box from your cable tv provider. The idea of watching and recording tv via your PS3 is ludicrous.

I'm totally new to the TV tuner stuff, but anyways. Is this out in the US yet? And for the US do we need to have a digital box in the background to run the live TV? Or can you just have Play TV connected to your PS 3 and TV and desktop for recording?

The US transmits TV differently from europe and most other countries. So the chances are this version will not be released there although sony could release a US specifoc version.

unfortunately you can not use this to record yourself playing games, it is basically for recording TV shows only and watching them back on either your PS3 or PSP.

No unfortunately you cant record gameplay. You can get a really cheap USB stick that records gameplay to your PC for a few $'s (or £'s) on EBAY. Search for EasyCap

if you have a dvd recorder you can record gameplay from the PS3 onto DVD then edit it on your PC. You can pick one up for £50 at Asda, or get a hard drive recorder for £89 from Tesco (assuming you are from the UK)... or just get a really long lead for the EasyCap ! ;-)
