@MBArkestra It's a satirical take on the one of the most patriotic pieces of American music ever recorded. By nature satire is mocking or criticizing something that the author or creator has a problem with, and if this piece is mocking such a patriotic piece of music, than in a sense it is mocking the United States.
@justinorville Taken in to the context of “The Civil War” I really don’t see this as a satirical piece of music so much as a bald faced rendition of the song…just in the style of Matmos. It’s an interesting take on the song and fits in to the narrative of the album it comes from, though I’m pretty sure they weren’t thinking “hey let’s make this sound silly in order to make fun of AMERICA, fuck that place right?” when they recorded it. So no, I don’t think it’s satire. That’s all.
@MBArkestra Alright? It's really up to interpretation and how the particular person views the song, I really don't see why you're upset, I just thought it sounded satirical in a way, there's not one set way to interpret any piece of music. Either way, I love this album and group.
Matmos rok.I love these guys.I love the way Bjork brings out all da gems for us to roll around n marvel in....Aaaah i have 3 Matmos albums for those days i wanna mess my hair and play my mouth bow...lol
I love this, makes such a mockery of the U.S.

@justinorville What the hell are you talking about? How is this "making a mockery" of anything?

Anybody who likes Matmos, might also like the Vespertine album by Bjork. :)

@Kaskade2009 Tooooooootally, that is, in my humble opinion, Bjork's best album ever.
