  • You should put a tool " label " with the code to identify the connection status

    If AxWinsock1.CtlState = 7 Then Label2.Text = "connected"

  • @fares1b4 Umm.. Already done that

  • @fares1b4 Okay! Will do it. Thanks!

  • @fares1b4 لم أفهم. الرجاء كتابة باللغة الانكليزية

  • Everybody! [UPDATE]

I have seen that many of your want to make "chat" applications. I have made my own. You can download the source. My new channel is coming up and therefore i will upload better vids.

    for the LANChat app:

    themasterthingmaker.weebly.c o m/lanchat-beta.html

    remove the spaces in "c o m".

  • yes!

but you need a server for tat :-(

    (or dns)

  • Does this support different computer chat?

  • @ggt983 yes it will surely do. but you need to be on a lan to do this. Check out my program LanChat for that:

  • @TheMasterThingMaker How do I make a client/server app with Windows 7?

  • @xmuchtoocrazyx hi!

I am using vista. And vb.net function pretty same for both... The problem will arise with XP. If you have tried this and getting an error in windows 7 then comment again with the error and i will surely fix it.

  • everyone always says this...why should we use one over the other...both get the job done right?

  • @rickyvaughn2 Hi!

Nice suggestion but for simplicity purposes, i had to create 2 controls.

  • you should try mutli-threading ^^

    nice tut

  • @kluytje1993

    Nice speech!!!!!

    I mean it

  • @DeeJayRecord I think you did not understand a thing cause u were watching random vedios and dont even know waht programming is.

  • @kluytje1993 Thanks man!

  • Good tut :D

  • Hi, I wud like to know whether the Winsock dll file you have provided in the link... will it work for visual studio 2010? Because I am using VS2010 but I dont find this Winsock anywhere. I downloaded some winsock from dll website. But that didnt serve the purpose. Can any1 tell me where can i find the exact winsock file for VS2010?

  • Thank you for providing a link to WinSock. :-)

  • You would be better off using the built in System(dot)Net.Sockets.Socket instead of the winsock library.

  • @mandai2 I'LL try!

  • Good work, but Next Time Set it into a try

  • @mrogulf ya thanks for advice

  • If SendSocket.State = Winsock2005DDL.winsockstates.connected Then SendSocket.Send(InputBox("Enter Message"))

    i got a problem with "Winsock2005DDL" Part...

  • @Forbakk i'll love to help ya later

  • @TheMasterThingMaker

no need... got it fixed :D

  • @Forbakk He dosint know. You might just not have winsock2005dll registered,

    regsvr32 DLLPATHGOESHERE

    do that in cmd

  • u suck at programming learn c++ u noob a c++ API is for real programmers i know 15 programming launguages not including my own 2 made in c++ and the other c#

  • Sir, i suppose u only know how to show off. I wanna help people.Unlike you.Sir if you are really a programmer why don't you program kernel files and os and yes sir creating a programming language is simple. just telling you not to fill up the comments space.

    just to show off:

i have created os in assembly. i have created mosl ccl and 27 others (languages) in assembly not in stupid c# or C++ go and learn pure assembly and then come.

    c++ is for learners.

  • oh yea could you possibly make the the client where you could send message boxes the user could manipulate?

  • hey man ill sub if you make a tutorial on how to make a Rat in vb 2008

  • Hahaha

  • HOLY FUCKING BALLS! I've been trying to do this foreverrr!!!!!! FUCKING THANK YOU! I was getting fustrated and stressed over days and days of errors and other bullshit! Finally!

  • will this work if the computer I want to connect to is not in my network?

  • @ballader1 not unless you enable port forwarding

  • @mandai2 how do i do that?

  • @ballader1 check your router manual

  • Malware thats all Plunder.com = malware

  • Can this be done through 2 or more PCs? For example PC1 makes the program for server and PC2 and 3 make the client program. Can they all communicate with PC1?

  • @AdagioPhoenix

I know wat are u saying. check your inbox iv'e sent u the answer.

  • @TheMasterThingMaker can u send me the 'answer'? i've been trying for days to make a LAN chat .. if you could help me out, thanks (VB2010)

  • @imboor3d Actually ive answered tis question to many people so whoever wants it can read.

As you no that d ip adress keeps on changin. so we need a fixed thingy. Tis is called a DNS. Create a dns from any free website. Now tat is d dns of your erve a computer tat recieves and sends data. Now tats d answer wat ure talking about. For code 'n' stuff just tell me.

    -TheMasterThingMaker

  • @TheMasterThingMaker hey, yeah i've made it already, but i don't use my local IP, i use 127.0.0.1, so every comp can go on the chat

  • @imboor3d thats easy you just have to install these extra utilities and off you go but i am ont java now visual basic is far too easy

  • @youdripblood Ya!

But yes you can do ANYTHING in vb.net!

no offence pal! But i no JAVA too and i have mastered it! Any Questions?

  • @TheMasterThingMaker if you can do anything go and make something that runs on linux in vb.net. thats why i prefer java.

  • @youdripblood I've done it. I've programmed my own vb.net emulator package that comes with my vb programes which is prgrammed in NASM or TASM or pure assembly

  • @TheMasterThingMaker wow! nice lol. could u make something that collects data from the web and then posts back some information lets say like click a button remotely using vb.

  • @TheMasterThingMaker I don't think you can master something, there always comes new stuff and its rude to call your self a master at something.

  • @TheMasterThingMaker Can you patch a .DLL File to return a certain \value every time? If you can then you have a fairly good knowledge of a language if not, then you should go back and learn how.

  • @youdripblood They're both 3rd generation languages... So they're both high level languages and extremely easy.

  • @crazynoob11 I no assembly the lowest level one (machine code) and to run vb i have emulators. I've programmed my own os in dos that runs my vb programs

  • @TheMasterThingMaker I call bullshit :/

You sound like a rather young child.

  • It sounds like a fair majority of people commenting on this post are quite honestly just talking a tremendous ammount of nonsence. I am the President/Lead Programmer/ Lead Software Engineer and Application architect of OCNET Networks, OCTP...I have a Msc in Computer Engineering & Algorithm Analysis as well as CCNA, MCSE/DA...Primarily all the programming I am personally involved in is low level ix86 ASM type Opcode parsed for microcontrollers in 32 or 64bit (D/Qword LDVAP Addressing argument...

  • @TheMasterThingMaker can you send the answer to me too? thanks!

  • thank you thank you thank you

  • THANK YOU!!

  • @TheMasterThingMaker What does server and clilent means?

What does server and clilent do?

    I gues it's a remote desktop connection

    Please Reply BACK!

  • @Suttiwit1234 Hey! client means the sender and server the reciever

  • @TheMasterThingMaker Actually a server is used to manage clients. Clients are used to interact with the server. Clients and servers can both send and receive data.

  • You don't know a shit what your talking about do you?

  • Hey! I downloaded the winsock2005dll thing, and then Project > Add Reference and selected it, but it didn't appear on toolbox, not even in Tools > Select Toolbox Items...

How can I get it to toolbox?

  • @Bloodlehz Use regsvr32 to register the dll or ocx, then it will show in the toolbox items.

  • its really buggy

  • whats it do???

  • its good work

  • Learn how not to sniff when making a video, god damn its so annoying

  • where do i put this winsock.dll file that you had me download?

it has to be somewhere within my vb program files, but is there a certain directory?

  • see the whole tut

u have to "Refrence the *.dll file"

  • alright well i got it into my vb. and i got up to winsock1.connect

    when i debug it

    it gives me 4errors

I think that this winsock doesnt work with vb2010

  • @TheMasterThingMaker when i reference it, i get an error when i try to debug. its like 4 errors.

it says that winsock basically doesnt exist.

i tried dl'ing the file again... but it isnt working

  • it could be anywhere just refrence it

  • i did something similar but only works in lan check my channel

  • Nice ! No virus ! But can we add some futures ? for example getng or sending files on server

  • sure!

  • can you make a tut winsock chat but so that more plp are in a channel and can chat ( with usernames) now i need to know is there any way to acces server pc's files? for accounts and how to install winsock?

  • Comment removed

  • you know when you say no virus its going to make people think it is one so becareful the words u say. BTW EVERYONE THIS FILE IS SAFE :P

  • u sound like a fag hindu noob

  • how did u get the server and client to run at the sametime? did you launch vb 2008 twice?

  • Well just debug both the programs

and it will make a exe file in the bin>debug folder if you don't know about that then the second method is quiet slow, run vb 2 times!

  • Looks like the old Winsock control by Chris Kolkman. I'm using Winsock Orcas (the newest one) by him. Search for "Winsock Revamped".

  • Hey.. nice program. How do u install the winsock into vb2008 windows 7?

  • i am not really fiimiliar with windows 7 bu i know it is just like vista or any other windows OS, so i will say to install winsock in windows 7 you just simply just download the DLL file and then toolbox>choose items>browse!

  • Hi!

    thanks!

i know my sound was low cause the mic was not working and i don't know camtasia did to my voice!

    well thanks again!
