Can anybody tell me what happens to those who wear glasses during the collision? I guess the glasses will cause some injuries around the eyes but is it possible to leave you blind?

@11516288 if it kills a child it would cause serious injury to an adult positioned at the same distance as an adult. airbags are not designed to hit adults with forces that would be fatal to children. the airbag fatalities were primarily caused by children who were within inches of an airbag. usually the airbags themselves were also overpowered.

airbags still are dangerous to children due to children's squirmy nature and the forces from an airbag inflation are much harder on a child's body.

My airbags exploded randomly when I was driving over a rock that was slightly to big. I must say, It was very loud and fast.

Kan easily kill you or snap your arm of if you lean froward.

You need to have a considerable amount of force to activate the airbags - what sort of car is it? It is a factory fault.

Vw Jetta. I was driving +- 40 kph. the rock cracked the sub frame. It was not a small rock, it was a huge one but It only stuck out of the ground a few centimeters, it was a solid hit, the rock did not move.

WOW, It was the loudest thing since the atom bomb. I thought a helicopter with a nuke landed on the car for the firs second, because you don't expect a car accident to happen driving alone on a dirt road.

Unless the car experiences forces equivalent to or more than hitting a solid wall at about 18MPH the airbags won't go off... Many people think that an airbag should have gone off when it didn't. Airbags only go off when there is extreme force on the occupants.

The air bag protected my life on 2nd of october at about 00.15 am in a serious head on collision with a date tree with almost no physical injury.The airbag and the safety belt combined protected in the similar way displayed here,within a fraction of second i removed my bely,switched off ignition switch to come out od mt loved car SX4.Thanks to air bag bag manufacturer ,test team and those concern with the air bag manufactures.

I used to work at an airbag assembly plant in the US, and it used exclusively compressed nitrogen canisters as the propellant, not the explosives shown here. Wonder if it's a European thing?
