  • A night to remember!

  • I kind of hated the crowd clapping in the beginning. It ruined the atmosphere. Nice video, though. Live Shows are the best.

  • Pink Floyd, Live in Oakland 1977 3-disc 2CD/DVD set, Pink Floyd, The Wall Live at Earl's Court 1980 DVD available at Tommygun Video, please see youtube channel for link, video/audio clips, more info

  • Guess what I don't see in 1989, A bunch of prick fans who carry their phones and cameras to fail at trying to get the best footage in shitty quality that only succeeds in pissing off everybody behind you and stops them from wanting to take that gay motorola and smashing it onto the floor and stomping on it and falcon punching it and *gasp* using the remains to throw it into your face until its covered with scars.

Sorry, got a little carried away.

  • The FLOYD´s feelings is spread in this astonishing piece of art...

  • How I wish for one last farewell tour. Just a couple of shows. I'd go anywhere.

  • This is unbelievable live!!

  • To whoever has been there: die! Ψοφήστε! Lucky bastards! Κωλόφαρδα τσουτσέκια, άει σιχτίρ, εμείς μόνο τον Roger Waters είδαμε :( Α ρε και να μπορούσα να χα πάει...! Δε γαμιέται, what did you dream, its alright we told you what to dream και τα μυαλά στο μπλέντερ.

  • one of my huge mistakes in my life is that i had never been in any pink floyd concert

  • itz hard to compare anything to this amazing piece of art. i am in love.

  • Rick wright amazing syntetiser

  • Poios asxetos leei sto 2:08 "ayto einai apo to the wall" ??? :P

  • I wonder how these video tapes were shot as on many concerts tickets it was written: "no tapes or recoders allowed".

    Nevertheless, they're priceless stuff!

  • @lyonslaforet I know cause this was my first concert!

  • @lyonslaforet I know cause this was my first concert.!

  • i like david singin better. he has the pink floyd voice u always hear. roger tho is good and all dont get me wrong but everytime i hear them its always david. roger is the shit tho and the shit he draws is badass. all that shit in the wall and even in this vid all that crap playin in the back is all from him. he draws some sick shit

  • excellence as always. David is a true master.

  • this song is so powerfull!! i fucking love it

  • υποδειγματικη διδασκαλια

  • Me mata me mata me mataaa por dioss

  • @Wenkenrod ja das is wahr . Für jede Generation ein erlebnis!!! Bin erst 33 und ich gehe auf in dieser Art von musik! Sehe die revival band im märz in oberhausen !!!

  • einfach genjale und unsterbliche musik

  • Who's the one who said headbangers don't know good music? lmao I listen to Slayer, Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth, Testament, Pantera, and Iron Maiden, yet I love Classic Rock EVEN MORE!

  • The real deal is the In The Flesh tour in 2000. Back then Roger could really sing!

  • @JohannesMarslew95 I saw Roger back in '84 on the Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking tour, his voice was in prime shape back then - HOWEVER - Gilmour was the vocalist on the album version of "Welcome to the Machine," not Roger...

  • @jjobie I know, but i just like it better when Roger sings. and i'm not saying that Gilmour is a bad singer, but Roger's voice is a little more special.

  • @JohannesMarslew95 Well, Roger's voice is blown these days, and Roger's voice went downhill after 'The Wall' tour unfortunatly. David is amazing here. Jon Carin sings as well.

  • wow... Gilmours voice is AMAZING!!!

  • you know what i think is hilarious... first those of you that think ROGER had a better singing voice than david.... you are why idiot bands exist. Second, david DID sing on the original record. Its very very very easy to hear that.. listen to more floyd or something... or im sorry to say this music may be too complex for you to pick out such things that all i can think of lol

  • i was there ! just 14 years old then !!!!

  • This was fuckin awesome

  • jesus hat happend to all the good bands like pink floyd jimi the eagles the rolling stones the doors tand the beatles!?

  • @HinVids

They've been replaced with crap like the Jonas brothers and Miley Cyrus and rap crap. It's so ironic to me that the people that invented rock n' roll (Chuck Berry etc) invented its polar opposite (rap)

  • @TheCharlyHorse its bullshit! thts wat it is!

  • @TheCharlyHorse wut do you mean the people?? lol hahah

  • Excellent record, excellent Band, Brilliant Minds.... Masters of Rock!!! Pink Floyd Rules!!!!

  • @glenhavenstkedron So, headbangers don't know great music? I for one listen to metal bands and still listen to Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Deep Purple, AC/DC, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix. So maybe you should stop generalizing.

  • No. David Gilmour was.

  • petagete k o ellinaras apo piso k leei auto einai apo to wall.. poso zileuo tous goneis mou

  • "You bought a guitar to punish your ma, and you didn't like school, and you know you're nobody's fool, so welcome to the machine..."

  • Welcome my son......

  • i think that there live work captures everything it's suppost to. the organic beauty here is epic to me. but hey what does an 80's stonergrrrl know :) :). love anna peace to Syd - and all of us

  • great concert footage! amazing song, amazing filming ,amazing sound! thankyou for putting this up

  • rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • Wow David sang his heart out! Just like in the record! Awesome!

  • ounoi ! bisigot8ioi ! barbaroi ! kl sas lei r ELEOS

  • ounoi ellines.rithmika palamakia stous pink floyd??o dalaras einai?gia auto den erxetai o anthropos

  • I just had this playing in the background.

I thought it was Roger singing without thinking. After about 5 minutes doing what I was doing (work after hours), I looked back because it dawned on me how good David's singing is. Somehow my sub-conscious had worked out that it was for sure David singing.

  • Absolutely Amazing show!

  • WHAT AN AMAZING VOICE DAVID HAS

  • u cant pick out one member they play as one so if rogers play just ok then the band played just ok

  • Roger's may have written the lyrics, but his performances of this is nothing in comparison with this. STUNNING!!!

  • David sang the original, too.

  • Yes, on the record, but Live versions from the 1977 tour, has Roger singin backup, which was sometimes done fairly badly unfortunatly. Roger has never been the best with vocals on the live arena. Great on record, brilliant lyricist and conceptual writer, but not so good bassist and vocalist. But as a whole Pink Floyd is brilliant, and the best band there ever was. And to the people that want a reunion...let it go. Rick is dead. David's 2006 tour was the closest thing.

  • @ehcmier I think it was Waters who sang the original (I'm no fan of Waters, believe me).

  • @ladymindful it was david. rogers voice sounds nothing like Welcome to the Machine

  • @FEARsc0pe Thanks for correcting me. On the original CD it didn't sound like David, and I thought I was the expert on all things David Gilmour. Appreciate your taking the time to let me know. I'll listen again. To the CD.

  • well obviously hes got the voice enhancer thing but its still david

  • @ehcmier no shit sherlock

  • Then you probably never heard the original version, which dates from more than 20 years before this performance.

Waters's voice has much more tension, that's why he was the lead singer. Floyd was all about tension.

  • Wrong!!! I have heard the 1977 performances, in fact I have 20+ RoIOs (bootleg recordings) from the 1977 "In The Flesh"/Animals tour. Roger's voice never suited this song, sorry. Roger is great on record as a lead vocalist, but not live, that's my opinion.

  • Perfectly performed, even better than in 1977. Jon Carin does a great job on backing vocals too.

  • κριμα που δε μπορουσα να ερθω τοτε...ετσι κ αλλιως εκεινη τη χρονια γεννηθηκα...

  • i know how you feel born three days after they broke up :(

  • Never mind brokenchair, he suffers of a obsesive compulsive disorder. can´t stop himself about writting PF wrote dogs. He is harmless

  • too bad this song didn´t make it on DSoT or PULSE

  • That live is from DSoT Tour (1988-1990).

  • it is, but it´s not on that album (CD)

  • It's from the another lapse tour 1989, its a leg of a momentary lapse of reason tour.

  • Right! That tour lasted 2 1/2 years or so. Great Video, brings back memories.

An amazing roll out Gilmour and Mason put together with Wright.

Interesting that on the first legs, Gilmour always ended the night with a "See you again."

You didn't hear him say anything like that on his last solo tour.

  • But that does not stop one from hoping. I figure that one of 3 or 4 possiblities of tours will happen.

Roger's last tour was kick-ass. Can Gilmour be far behind? On an Island was great, and begs the question where's Roger's?

Glimour has said, he sees no point of reuniting Pink Floyd to do a Greatest Hits tour. Perhaps it will be, " A New Cut" by Pink Floyd performed by Pink Floyd with Harry and Roger Waters?

    Well one can hope,

    ~~

    Luna

  • Well, reunited or not, It won't be the same without Rick. I just enjoy the bootlegs from their Waters era from the pre 1973, because you can feel the harmony between the members. From teh 1980 tour onward I feel it very plastic, not bad, just not the same.

  • as a matter of fact gilmour mentioned in an interview recently that he has a lot of material left from previous jams and, what's most important, a lot of ideas. he said that in probably 2 years he will release a new album, but needs to enjoy some time with his family until he starts working again.

  • Dude, you don't have to type that on every single song ...

  • Okay, Mr. Wisdom...

  • Well, you're stupid and there is nothing I can do to change that.. Keep up the good work !

  • I believe he has some sort of mental tic...

  • Sweet! Great Coverage!

  • olympia..

  • i wish i could see them live there so fucking amazing man :(

  • You gotta keep your to the ground man!!

  • the spirit remains forever.apla gamatoi

  • Much better than the waters version.

  • agreed, Waters seems to flood it with girls voices and such. A lot or waters versions are very tight sounding, by that i mean it sounds more precise and played by robots and cnsequntly lacking in feeling. would you agree?

  • Completely. I got a lot of stick when I commented about this version being superior than the clip from In the flesh performed by waters. My main complaint with it was the fact that waters has girls singing the high notes, which takes away from its intensity.

  • I think I prefer the 'In Flesh Version'...

I like how it sounds mechanical... it's about the machine!!!

  • Why? Gilmour sung it on the album.

  • It sounds like roger sang it on the album, but it was actually david.

  • I think it sounds like David on the album, too...

  • No you twat, Gilmour sings this on the album and totally rules it live. Read up on your subject child.

  • sends chills down the spine...hmmm

  • 2:10.... "auto einai apo to wall"

  • GREAT !!!!

    Thanks 4 this.

  • Imagine this song without Richard Wright!

  • They played this song every night from 1987-89, except once on the 1988 'World Tour' leg of the A Momentary Lapse Of Reason tour, somwere in the States, due to power failure. No professional filmed versions have so far surfaced, sorry.

  • Comment removed

  • Was there any other performances of this song on this tour? and if so, are they on film?

  • ,,There's a semi-pro version available from the Moscow 1989 shows, its on the unofficial Dvd ' Wish you were in Moscow 1989.' Unfortunately its a different audio source, There's a brilliant audience filmed version from Paris France july 1989,appears to be shot from a tripod, which shows the light/laser show on this song amazingly. I have that one on Dvd,its pretty cool...

  • could you possibly upload that paris 1989 version sounds a cool version?

  • on the studio version, gilmours voice is actually sped up a half step,

  • This is an awesome performance of one of the best Floyd songs ever.

  • "siff" goodbye richerd your in a better place

  • It's a small world, but I wouldn't want to have to paint it

  • Goodnight Richard and God bless. Thank you for such wonderful, wonderful music :-(

  • Pink Floyd wrote "Dogs".

  • the lightshow for this song is awesome.

  • how about someone welcomes me to a machine that can bring me back in time to see floyd! I truly envy those who were able to see floyd in there lifetime

  • Why is music so shitty today?

  • Because all the good ideas were used up by Pink Floyd.

  • Check out Tool, they are very deep and emotional just with more of an angry feel than a depressed.

  • why do Europeans always clap with the music at concerts?

    STOP!!!

  • Americans are worse!

    Idiots all of them! ;)

  • My country is better than yours.

  • they ve never played again in greece since that consert! I think they should come at least one more time :(

  • Falling, don't diss the classics, just because you like your (scr)emo bands.

  • The original version is an work of art. Queensryche's version is... er... not nearly as good, to put it mildly.

But Queensryche is not a emo band. They started playing heavy metal back in the 80's.

And forgive Falling. He's young and Portuguese.

    AH!

  • Powerful vocals, love it!

  • ha ha ha . . . typical stupid, inconsequential Portuguese.

For crying out loud your country makes the Sierra Leone look like a grand civilization.

So, in other words, that is the value of your voice and opinion on the world stage.

    Thank you.

Long live Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, and all civilized people's who don't hold such malcontent opinions as FallingPT.

  • Your fucking high. I like Queensryche. But their version of this song is terrible.

  • This is one song which will never equal the studio version, although I will say that I prefer Gilmour doing it than Waters.

  • Also, the head-chop in this version happens out of sync as well; too early for the beat it's supposed to be on. I've seen the Waters' Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking show back in '85 and the timing and music were perfect.

  • I'm SO glad I'm not the only one who's noticed that. I think (I could be wrong) that there is a piece of footage missing from the film, because the 'flashes' in the beginning when the dinosaur approaches the screen are correctly placed, but somewhere the film goes out of sync. I have this "Machine" animation on VHS and it DOES seem like there's a piece missing; there's a very, very weird jump-cut in the animation and the film shown in this clip does the same thing.

  • It's On Time Because Roger Lip Syncs 90% Of His Stuff. He Started Right After Floyd.

  • do u have any sources that confirm this??

i think i'd lose respect if it was the case..

  • My biggest objection to this, even though the vocals are superior to Waters' version (I've seen both versions live multiple times after the Floyd split up), is that the timing of the film to the music is thrown off somewhere in the middle, with the rising of the monolith to the "womb" thing totally off.

Water's version, live, is on time every time, perfectly.

However, with his newer shows, he no longer shows the film but only slide stills from it. A shame. The animation is so amazing.
