No it was the third sung mass at Notre-Dame since 1969...
(but there are many low mass on the vigil of Pentecost each year, when the Pilgrimage to Chartres begin).

I wonder why they do not have the Tridentine Mass more often. Look at the church, it is packed.

One wonders. What the bishops still do not understand is they are in the show business......they just do not know it. That being said, every mass at Notre Dame, Old or new rite, is beautiful. Cannot say that about every church.

No, it was celebrated by Mgr. Batut, former parish priest of Saint-Eugene - Sainte-Cecile in Paris (a beautiful place where the traditionnal mass is offered since 1984). Since this mass at Notre-Dame de Paris, Mgr. Batut has been consecrated auxiliary bishop of Lyon, the second town of France.
