And yeah, I'll bet that did rip Hogan's guts out. People who were there said it looked impossible to get the ball to stop, much less spin back into the water; the whole point of putting the flag there was to make people have to putt back toward the hole after inevitably hitting it past. Figures that Hogan would be the guy to do the impossible thing.

Saw an interview on youtube somewhere of Hogan talking about the Cherry Hills shot - claimed it still "ripped his guts out" even 20-30 years later...
