Watching this hurts so bad! My mom threw away my entire collection of video game guides back when I was in High School, cause she thought they were outdated magazines! It still hurts...
@5RetardedSquirrels It's okay, buddy! One time my parents got me a big stack of Gamefan magazines, and I didn't bother reading any before I thought they were dumb and threw them out. Now those things go for like $30 each on eBay T_T I wish I had them back, those guys loved niche games.
Wow... That is.... Wow. Do you even know the meaning of the word "mainstream"? Almost all of that stuff (at least the games) is just so obscure! I'm not saying that's a bad thing, and the stuff I saw there that I'm familiar with is awesome, but... YOU HAVE AN ENTIRE SHELF OF JAPAN ONLY GAMES! GEEZUS!
@arcnova I ate them up as a kid, although I wasn't that great at them--the bosses level up as you do!
They are SUPER 90s anime, so be prepared for lots and lots of cutscene breaks and the requisite hot spring fanservice. But the characters are awesome and the writing is pretty well done (although it's Working Designs, so the translation plays fast and loose with authenticity, often inserting lots of pop culture references), so I would at least give it a try.
@Madamluna To quote chazdragoon, Bath Scene = THE scene of Lunar 2. They were really great games back then, I wished they'd make a true sequel than endless remakes. A problem SquareEnix is developing right now. (KH) I actually wish Capcom would do another breath of fire game. Were you at this recent Magfest? So much fun there! Also who's the author of the video game graphics book, I'd like to check that out! I remember a lot of those games from my youth! Hope to see ya in action again soon!
@Lawlivita Yeah, I was at this recent Magfest! I met up with some of my buddies there, we had a great time.
The author of Game Graphics is Charles Brunner. If you search for it on Amazon, it should come up! There are only a few copies on there, but they're very cheap. You might be able to find it at some used bookstores too.
@MagikGimp I disprove this comment for I am a 21 year American who lacks a basement cause where a basement would be there resides a under-floor duct system for the purpose of heating my home :D
I saw some Sam and Max you didn't say anything about! Actually, I haven't played any of the Sam and Max games despite often being told that they're great.
Also, for no particular reason I note the Bedford Handbook. I don't know why since it's pretty standard, yet here I am talking about it.
Well, that's enough stalkerish commentary for today.
@Arppis I do! I don't do it enough though. Most of my cooking is dinner or breakfast stuff. I can make a mean omelette, and I love doing stir frys (stir fries?) and stews.
@NhouzX Yeah, I really only have the import versions because they were, surprisingly, cheaper than the US versions on eBay. I'm glad I got them though, because the manuals/packaging are a lot better than in the overseas version!
You keep your baking books with your gaming books. Madamluna, I like your style. Should I ever find the incentive to rule the world and do away with the unneeded, you will most definitely be on the "needed" list.
I love my Game Atlas, I have the exact same kind, and always have. That's helped me through many a time in Mega Man and Castlevania. I'm looking into getting a Japanese PS2, and I'll have to add the Pop'n Music games to my list of things to get, since you and DC seem to like them.
Also, is DC your room-mate? Or does he just live close?
@XarboyMkII If you wanna grab pop'n music and live on the east coast, I recommend getting them from NCSX--they have the Best versions (Greatest Hits releases basically) of 7, 8, 9 and 10 CS for around $30, and they're based out of New York so they ship super quickly. I recommend starting with 8 and 10, personally.
DC lives close by, but we spend a lot of time together.
damn nice collection luna! :P I do have a few saturn games, though it isn't hooked up at the moment. including nights (tho one of the triggers on my analog pad doesn't work) and clockwork knight.
@AgentDudeman I keep meaning to play Jet Set Radio! I will acquire it. I only got a Dreamcast this past year, so my collection of DC games is very shabby so far :x
@Madamluna You should definitely see if you can find Time Stalkers, as well. Those are my two favourites of the system, and I had a lot of fun with them when I was a wee lad.
omg why are people making videos of formspring things
is it just like someone asks you osmething on formspring and you makea video?
