@KBGUY09 "Fern"...a reference an episode of Three's Company where Janet (?) had a fern plant that was dying and she used a steaming shower to perk it back up.
John Ritter called Suzanne Somers to play Chrissy in this episode but she turned it down. It was the first time they had spoken since the drama on their show. She turned it down because she wanted them to work out their issues first. He called Joyce Dewitt also but she didn't like the script.
Its weird, watching the the Real 3s company in reruns with that same jokes seems less offensive then this. I guess it was just the times they lived in that excuses the dorky gay stereo typing, this new version just seems mean spirited.
@lusiphur Just would like to add. This is NOT Three's Company. It's a dream sequence Paul (Ritter) is having about his daughters living with some guy. It's like Three's Company because Paul fell asleep watching Three's Company. These are not the same characters (although I thought the Helen/Cate character was pretty accurate).
If you watch it in that context and not like you're watching classic Three's Company, it's actually pretty funny.
haa. awesome. i've always been a huge Three's Company fan, maybe I should check out more of this show.

John Ritter is a rotting corpse, who cares if he were a good actor. Now he's a dead rotting corpse.

Katey Sagal rocks as Mrs Roper, John Ritter (as usual) excels with his comedic timing, and the double entendre presented had me rolling...
