  • such a great movie! a very....loose...adaptation of the book, but genius!! Englund remains one of my all-time favorite Eriks!

  • Yeesh, I wish i could sing like her. I can't get halfway that high.

  • Your eyes see but my shadow

    My heart is over flowing

There's so much you could come to know

    You're content not knowing

    tenderly

    you could see

    my soul

  • @mjzz12345 É A VERSÃO E MÚSICA QUE MAIS GOSTO DESSE FILME! VC SABE A LETRA TODA DA MÚSICA???

  • can anyone tell me the complete lyrics.

It's really urgent !! I need the complete lyrics.

    Thankyou

  • Jessie Lotso

  • Can't stop hitting the replay button! O///O

  • Thank you, Misha

  • As much as I wish the song was longer, the lyrics written in this short, beautiful version, are enough to let us into his heart. I really think he was just misunderstood =) Though... uhm.. I still would prefer the 1990 version Phantom because..one thing is to be disfigured, and another one to be a monster (and by this, I mean that.. he didn't have to be so possesive to have win my heart << but.. he was..so.. .. yeah..).

  • For a while I've been contemplating writing a script for a PotO movie more faithful to the book than any others. The other day, I was listening to this song, and the next day I went to the bookstore and found a copy of the book. Signs from God; script is now in the works! Love this beautiful, haunting melody

  • I love this song! I wish that it was a little bit longer :)

  • @tiadawn100 Me too.

  • i really really really love it i searched for it so long, thnx for upload!!!!

  • sexy written all over him!!!

  • watch the ORIGINAL with Lon Chaney if you haven't you're in for a treat

  • @tiadawn100 thank you

  • am I the only one who afraid of watching this film?

I really fear from horror movies,I mean they are too...scary:S but I really wanna see this film,I just feel that I'll be shocked at some parts.

  • does someone have the whole version of it?and I mean the really WHOLE,because I have the don juan triumphant/travel through time version, but she sings just these few lines also in that,so if someone has a better&longer version, please let me know!*.*

  • @frodolover14 - contact the composer's office; they'll probably sell you a copy.

  • I am sorry but this movie was terrible. The concept is wonderful, but the acting was awful, and I think that if you're going to do Phantom of the Opera, one of the most famous musical of all time, you should either get the rights to the score, or don't do it all. Can you imagine how powerful and yet so badass this movie would have been if you had music of the night, the lake and gondola, and amazing slasher scenes? It would be a change from POTO that a lot of people would appreciate.

  • @gingervitus01 I think this was trying to stick to, at least in some areas, the Leroux novel, not the ALW musical. So many of the Faustian elements of the book are well-represented in this film.

  • @jazzandmint Read the above comment.

  • @gingervitus01 ok first of all the phantom of the opera wasn't originally a musical, it was a book written by Gaston Leroux, so if the producers of the movie didn't want to make this movie a musical they were in they're right to do it.

  • @terecruz0502 Okay, I get it. This is the internet, and you're truly not aware of who you are talking to...but I already knew that and have read the novel several times thanks. However, this movie has not at all stuck to the elements of the original story of Leroux's classic novel. And if the producers wanted to create an adaption...wonderful. However this movie (for the lack of a better word) sucks. The characters are boring, the adaption is a mockery to what Leroux wrote, and quite frankly...

  • @terecruz0502 if you are going to put in the music without the ALW score...at least hire somebody who can capture more enchanting melodies than these. The relationships between each character is so bland and boring that I don't see the appeal with any of them. Like I said: if you're going to create a POTO movie, at least try to capture the gothic romance of the story...and not add the cheesy reincarnation aspect. This movie could have been a really AWESOME adaption to Leroux and ALW's creation.

  • @terecruz0502 It's true, you don't know who you are talking to on the internet, and not to sound pompous (far from it actually), but give some people on YouTube the benefit of the doubt. Maybe some people have an informed opinion than others. Have a good day.

  • @gingervitus01 I really think you're missing the point. If you want to watch the musical, by all means go and watch the 2004 film, but everyone knows that it wasn't originally a musical. This film does brilliantly in trying to capture what Leroux was trying to do rather than what ALW was trying to do, so you can't really think of it in a way where you compare it to a musical.

  • @MrsLovett112 ...you were reading my comments closely right? Because I think you're missing everything I literally just said and I am not repeating it again. I said if they wanted to put in music (LIKE THEY DID) without an ALW score, then hire somebody who can. This is definitely not Leroux. Leroux wrote something more gothic and the characters had appeal. This is simply a cheesy adaption with a case of bad direction and bad a bad screen play. The novel does not include reincarnation, so how

  • @gingervitus01 But it's not meant to be a musical, they don't need to pay special attention to the music. And really I don't see what's so cheesy about this film, it's one of the rare ones that pays special attention to the gruesome elements included in the novel

  • @MrsLovett112 ...are you for real? Music is one the main components of the novel concerning imagery. This film has corny acting, the characters are boring and show little to none relationship, and it has some pretty cheesy elements (the reincarnation aspect). I'm sorry, but I differ from the rest of the people who think that this movie is great, but for the rest of us who are POTO fans (in all aspects) this movie does little to no justice when coming from a technical perspective and critic.

  • @gingervitus01 I'm a massive fan of the book myself- one of my favourites actually, if I'm honest- but I don't find music to be that intrical compared to other themes that were included in the movie. Yes, this movie wasn't very accurate to the book, but the Lon Chaney version is probably the only one that ever has been accurate enough to not cause dispute. Though this movie didn't do full justice to the book it does, in my opinion, do better than the musical in capturing the book's messages

  • @MrsLovett112 Okay. I had a past message that started all of this because I mentioned that if they had of used AWL music in some scenes or references to it, plus a more "badass" concept than what they used, then this movie wouldn't be so bad. If you're going to do POTO, at least create a more romantic, gothic and "obsessed" atmosphere than what they did with this movie. And yes, you don't see the theme with this movie. In my opinion, as a film major, that's what makes this story work.

  • @gingervitus01 Otherwise, it's just an adaption. That's a major enticement with Christine, the music because of the death of her father and the facade that the phantom as put up. You lose such an important aspect to the story. So, the relationships failed to convey their meaning and there is nothing too tragic.

  • @gingervitus01 If they'd used references then there would be complaints that this film couldn't stand on its own without needing to lean on some sort of popular culture reference. It wouldn't be fair to the film's creativity. And I personally can see the romantic, gothic and obsessed themes in this film. I mean, the obsession is definitely delved into more here than in other films as opposed to romance, but there's at least a hint of all of the themes

  • @MrsLovett112 Movies do that anyways without hindering anything. It's how they channel that creativity to make it work that is the real testament to their creativity. You know that this movie is also ONE OF the worst POTO film adaptions, right? I'm just pulling from basic knowledge from film that this movie was not good, just basic terminology. it doesn't meet a lot of criteria to announce itself as a film that can be counted as a true POTO movie.

  • @MrsLovett112 I have pop culture and the book to back me that this movie was cheesy and not a great adaption to the novel due to the lack of creativity. Your opinion though and I can appreciate that.

  • @MrsLovett112 can you say they did what Leroux wanted to do? This is a mockery of Leroux's novel. You want something close to what Leroux wanted? Why not watch Lon Chaney in the Phantom of the Opera (1925 silent film). Read more closely next time please.

  • Christine is sooo pretty!

  • why isn't he wearing his mask?

  • His face is decaying so he wears a mask made of human skin that he sews to his own face. When that skin decays he has to kill more people so he can skin them and wear them as masks. Awesome concept in my opinion.

  • @Medusa0999 Oh my that is awesome!

  • @zippythewildone: because he's different in this one and sews other peoples skin on his face :)

  • love this song.

  • i love this song..realy2..where can i find this whole song???

    wat the song name???

  • @anas6643 This song is incomplete. Christine sang the wole lyric of it and that all, only 5 sentences. I love it too and I used to look for it everywhere but it was really hopeless. It turned out never be complete. What a shame!

  • @windy2610 @anas6643

They released an extended version some time ago that you can find here on YouTube. Search for "Misha Segal Don Juan Triumphant" and click on the video of the soprano in the red dress. :)

  • Jill is just ravishingly beautiful in this movie.

  • @haroof dude, i totally agree

  • i so gonna watch this movie again!

  • i love this movie, but i didn't like that it was in ny at some points

  • Me too! It's one of my favourite Phantom movies (along with the Chaney, Dance & Butler adaptations) but the time-travelling stuff just sucked.

  • it really did the butler one was the first one i saw and i absolutely love it

i have made two attempts at reading the book, both unsuccessful :)

  • you really should it really helps you to understand that story an emmnce amount and is a mastery of pure literary amazment and exquisite journalism by leroux

  • Freddy Kruger!!! Uh I like this version just saw it recently but ALW is a favorite of mine, so that probably is what sways my favoritism towards his

  • This sence is one of the prime exsamples of why this flim is so good. I mean it has it's really screw up moments but this right here shows why it is so damn good and is one of my person fav phantom movies if not the top one.

  • what's the songs name??

  • Lucifer's Angel, I believe. But don't take my word on it.

  • Don Juan Triumphant (Travel Through Time)

I got the song, so tell me if you need it. It's kinda hard to find it on the internet.

  • where did you find this song I love it and would love to have an mp3 copy if you have found one

  • Actually I don't have the complete song, just the part when she traveled through time. If your excited just give me your email I'll send you it! :)

  • yes okay that sounds great :D

  • @daonhatha - actually the music is super easy to find on the internet. just contact the composer's office via his website (which youtube doesn't let me put here, but just Google it or look at the contact info for mjzz12345's channel.

  • This soundtrack is amazing.

  • "One fan loved this aria so much, she set it to a scene in the movie by Andrew Lloyd Weber."

Yeah, there's a resaon for that: the score in this version is, ultimately, better than ALW's. That's not to say that ALW doesn't have an amazing score or anything, but this one is more atmospheric (intentional I'm sure, as it is a film soundtrack and that's part of it's goal), but it just has a feel to it that's truer to the original source material. It's a very romantic piece. I love this score!

  • Sounds like the ALW play. Are you confusing this to the ALW film? I thought the film for ALW was superiorly weak to the stage production.

  • No, I'm quoting from the video description. I know this has nothing to do with ALW. I actually prefer this score to the ALW soundtrack.

  • nice to know i am not the only one who feels the movie was lacking in a lot of areas

  • this is such an incredible song its soo beautiful

  • Oh this melts my heart.

  • i've been looking for this ..thanks for the up.i have this OST cd . i wanna see this version again..

  • this is THE BEST PHANTOM VERSION!!! bs best best look at that lair!!! that´s a phantom lair! Love twight Little!!

  • the violin version at end of the film is the better

  • you know whats even better than this song? The VIOLIN version of this song. It's on the soundtrack. It rocks.

  • Would you pleeeaaaase upload it!!! The soundtrack version?? And this version too?

  • Ooh you know what? I have to look for it. I dont know if I can find it, but if I do, I will. You can purhase the soundtrack online or check iTunes to see if they have the song. It should be called graveyard violin or something of that like that.

  • I've reviewed this in depth on my youtube channel so if you want to see plenty of clips from this great film, check it out!

  • Wonderful Wonderful Show more more more all of it PLEASE

  • You know, I used to watch this entire movie on YT (youtube), now i can't find it anymore. :( Does anyone know where I can find it here?

  • where can i find this movie on youtube?

  • I just wanna cuddle with Erik. He's so cute and he seems VERY lonely <33

  • @jndvuivnf Never mind that he's a serial killer. :-)

  • @jndvuivnf ehh hes not supposed to be cute. hes supposed to have a face that looks like death. according to the book he didn't have a nose, had yellowish skin and barely any hair. they always make the phantom too good looking and it causes people to miss the entire message. people saw him as a monster because of his appearance, and because he was treated like a monster, he acted like a monster.

  • @crazitaco A quick impression for you from another movie:

Like yellow parchment is his skin ...

A great black hole served as the nose that never grew ...

You must be always on your guard,

Or he will catch you with his magical lasso.....

  • Can somelink send me the link to download or e-mail me? Please!

Oh yeah does anyone have the piano version of this song? I would love that too.

  • i love this song.

it's much better than the newer one's don juan.

  • What are you talking about "newer" one? If your talking about the 2004 musical, it isn't "newer". It was originally in the 1984 musical Phantom of the Opera. Which is now the longest running broadway show ever.

This movie was made in 1989, that's five years AFTER the musical.

  • and the musical was made after the book, which, suprise!, didn't have sound. But the song in the book sounded like it would have been way cooler than any version a normal human could possibly create.

  • OOo I love song. Can you send me a link to this song to download?

  • I love Robert Englund. One of my favorite of the modern Phantoms.

  • I love tis song...i want his have XD

  • i really want to see this film
