  • There is always a good feeling while listening Art of Noise.. Love it!

Thank to Trevor Horn who always knows how to make something new and different but the same time pleasing the mainstream listeners

  • One of the best things about timeless music is that it continues to apply to life and the human condition over time.

Watch it again as a direct translation of Obama's State of the Union Address the other night...

Its a perfect fit - all the way through.

    Ken

  • Weeiirrdddd

  • Do you guys not recognize Matt Frewer, the actor that plays Max Headroom?

  • Fuck...what was that noise...?

  • Doctor Freeeeeeeeeeeeeman.....

  • i present to you the first member of the master race.

  • this is definitely something to view when youre high

  • @sonic1138 For people that choose to get high, the entire 80s is something to listen to and watch when you get high :) New artists are dicovering the trippy 80s and adopting the look and sound again. Copy these 3 different videos - "MONARCHY LOVE GET OUT OF MY WAY" and "GRAFTON PRIMARY SHE KNOWS IT" ... "NEON INDIAN PSYCHIC CHASMS" all extremely new and extremely 80s.

  • @sonic1138 Funny, I do that daily as my therapy, very good thinking... I always loved this song since about 1988

  • I just peed my pants watching this, thanks for the laugh. Nothing will ever be funny again. Oh yea, and he's nightmare fuel, now I can never sleep again.

  • @CSS53184 Is he scary or is the stuff in the background scary? You are the several'ath person to say how he scares you. Mostly kids to teens say that now. It's weird. Hey if you want to look at something SUPER scary look up SPITTING IMAGE PUPPETS. THOSE will give you nightmares.

  • The effects in this video do more for me than any of the crap effects they use today

  • @weirdscience85 They had to put more time, care, and attention into effects during the 80s than they do now. And it shows now because so many effects are lazy looking, cartoony looking when they shouldn't be. I watched a movie the other day where the blood looked like neon red blood on top of the screen, instead of real blood inside the movie. Same with some explosions.

  • @hootyhaha I agree I saw Final Destination 5. And when the people were falling off the bridge as it collapsed. It almost looked like they were puppets on strings. The fuildity of the motion capture was very stiff and awakward. They need to refine the physics of the death scenes to make them more chaotic.

  • @hootyhaha Thanks.

  • Back when MTV used to be Music Television.

  • @dboy122660 Yes and Matt Frewer, dead are we not?

  • Jim Carey must be inspired by this character.

  • @HQsound I have a video that got so many views it caught Matt Frewers attention. Later Matt Frewer , in a new Max Headroom commercial, said the same thing, "Jim Carrey stole his schtick.." Look up "HootyHaHa Jim Carrey Max Headroom David Letterman." That should pull it up.

  • @hootyhaha You are great!!!!

  • Max needs to come back in a 80's revisit show...in 3D Perfection.

  • Pretty badass cg animations for the 80s. I love it!

  • @travisw001 Watch the original TRON movie, and you'll see some freaky stuff that will make you think, "That shouldn't been possible in the 1980 just 1 year after the 70s" :) They made tons of computer still art / photos back then, it was just power that was lacking causing them to have to deal with what they had in computers. Rent The Last Starfighter. Awesome movie.. .cheesy graphics but fun.. I hope they never remake it. If they do anything I just hope they redo the effects ala LUCAS ARTS.

  • @hootyhaha Like I mention to Travis, this is NOT cg - It's an actor with make up, to make him look like CG.

  • @travisw001 Actually, its NOT CG. Its an actor with lots of 'plastic' like make up on to make him look like a CG animation. :-)

  • When I was 13 I changed the Channel when this came on. At 39, I still have to leave this crap.

  • @kretincooper I find these comments the best. You're about the 100th person that has mentioned how Max Headroom is scary to them. What is it about him that's scary? His Maniquine type self? His movement? Both together? Maybe if you knew who Matt Frewer is he wouldn't be so scary to you. Watch the movie "Honey I Shrunk The Kids" He plays the Every-Man's Dad that always wants to go fishing. He's a VERY funny guy and I have convinced several that Jim Carrey stole his style in another vid.

  • @kretincooper Or look up Matt Frewer interview on here. Then look up Max Headroom Channel 4 Digital Transition for the brand new Max commercials with Matt Frewer. They're even crazier, he's an older computer program now griping that the world stole his digital ideas, and all bitter. Funny stuff.

  • @hootyhaha

    Max Headroom Scary? Never

    Clowns..... *shivers*

  • @kretincooper the only thing i can find scary is his hair

  • Comment removed

  • @hootyhaha If it's the same"The Darkness" that had the hits 'I believe in a thing called love' and 'One way ticket to hell and back' then yes they are a great band. Thanks for that tip i`ll do that.

  • @hootyhaha It seems to me that the 80s were more creative and even love songs were more than just the "I met you at the club & I`m gonna f*ck you tonight" songs! Although upon saying that, Stock Aitken and Waterman somewhat destroyed it near the end of the 80s. -daz in oz

  • As a 16 year old I just watched in awe at this video and tune in 1986...and even today it still spins me out. -daz inoz

  • The open mouth head roll is very Stevie Wonder-ish. And everybody will wear fiberglass suits in the future.

  • skylanders looks sooo fucking amazing

  • Max you da Man

  • @uheardme1stime You are a CAVE GIRL! Get it striaght, neadntheral honkkkey!!! Ooo ooo ooo, ah ah ah! LOL!

  • Shit, i just realised where i got my dance moves from

  • Funny. Brings back memories. Phil Collins' video with all the puppets in 1988 scared the shit out of me!

  • @HappyHooker83 Those puppets were from a very popular show called Spitting Image. Ran many times in the UK, just a few times in the US.. because the puppets scared people. They were just too freaky for us to handle back then. They looked like physical forms of those charichter drawings or however you spell it. So the U.S. came up with a show called D.C. Follies with much friendlier looking shows. Subscribe I might upload some clips of that stuff too.

  • @hootyhaha Wow...Yeah, I remember that shit like it was yesterday. I remember I was getting ready for kindergarten then I saw those freaky puppets on that Phil Collins vid. I want to look it up! Thanks for the info.

  • thats jim carrey

  • @24Mofongo Look up my video Jim Carrey Copied Max Headroom. Or Jim Carrey Borrowed From Max Headroom. It got so many views, that even Matt Frewer made a joke about it in a recent NEW Max Headroom commercial he did in the U.K.

  • @hootyhaha ok

  • Very Good !!! I love Art of Noise !!!

  • Ever notice how much Max Headroom looks like Glenn Beck?

  • ....odd

  • I want max back :(

  • @MentlegenlyCur Look at my video where I talk about Amanda Pays. Look up HootyHaHa Stan Lee Dallas Comicon. Those words should pull it up. I can't remember if I talk about the future of Max there or not. If I don't after you watch it, let me know and I'll tell you something.

  • For one, this was epic. For two, what kinda of crazy non-sense is going on? Of course, I'm one to talk, I'm sure my kids will look-back at my generation and go, "Really? Really." in a very condescending way. I was born in '87, so this is over my head. I've been watching Max Headroom for about an hour now. (I had seen him before, but I never really had him explained to me.) He still doesn't make to much sense... but I think get the gist of it now. Thumbs up, Matt Frewer! I think I love it. :3

  • @Kipicus If you want to find more Max, and more 80s Subscribe to my page. You'll be updated with future retro stuff as I continue to go through my old VHS stashes.

  • swing me :)

  • AON and Matt Frewer hit #34 in Billboard, 10-4-86. Who did singin' of Paranoimia on it? Somebody let me know. God bless ya, for your efforts. Thanx!

  • Does that mean my tea is ready?

    I hate tea.

  • Shame this is in mono.

  • @zenmachinefilms Yup.. but I got it about 8 or 9 years ago before YouTube was around and even before PutFile. I got if off Lime Wire or something like that. Kept it and uploaded it here in 2007. Before I got it I imagine it passed around a few other times.

  • Now you guys know where I got my mmrpg handle from

  • Tea. I cant stand tea......

    Tea.........

  • he looks like barbie fums up if u think so lol

  • Brilliant band, brilliant character. Still brilliant after all these years

  • Awesome love it

  • Looks almost like "Fire Marshal Bill" :) LET ME TELL YA SUMTHIN!!!!!!!! lol :)

  • Jim Carrey is the lovechild of Jerry Lewis and Max Headroom...

  • Max Headroom is awesome!

  • ya kids .. look at time line for once :D ... Max was first .. then all the clowns c/p :P

  • Doesn't even rhyme :)

  • wowz... its like jim carey and a computer had sex and this is what they got :)

  • @boombastic333666 Look up my video Jim Carrey Borrowed from Max Headroom. Or something like that I forgot :) It's in my video section.

  • @boombastic333666 its like you said you made love with your mom and papa pop out :D (sry but its the same perspective :P)

  • @banq0o lolz funny...

  • @banq0o MAYBE THAT HAPPENED! ;)

    (oh yeah..... true story)

  • @boombastic333666 nevermind that this pre-dated Jim Carrey by a decade or more...

  • Looking back at it now, It reminds me of Lazy Town. I recorded this off MTV on my VCR years back. One of my favorites.

  • this rocks

  • So, this is where Selena Gomez got her ideas for her music video!

  • This was from back when Channel 4 actually made GOOD programmes......

  • @sleepyfrog1

thats not what spawned max headroom. Max Headroom started off as a talk show host on an english music video TV series. To explain the character, they made the made for tv movie, Max Headroom - 20 minutes into the future. Then, once U.S realise they could make money off him, THEN came the cyberpunk series...but-but-but if you were there back then, you know that! that!

  • Horror of Fang Rock pirates

  • @hootyhaha Sorry - I meant the film version - it was a tv movie and I watched because Ultravox did the music.

  • Nostalgia Critic: It's not easy being guh-guh-guh-green!

  • @Cuteblondie1972 It was great, I had some good laugh with this guy ! He was completely mad !!!

  • Max Headroom is Ralfs and Florians unknown lovechild...

  • TV has big bug legs hovering over us.. face watching..

  • I know when I first saw this,I laughed so damn hard.I kind of love this guy<3

  • Max Headroom helped us defeat the Soviets!

  • I don't know about you, but Max Headroom was scary to me 20something years ago and is still scary to me now!

  • This guy is totally tripping. Or is it me? Or both?

  • am i on drugs?

  • i can't stand tea...

  • Max needs to be rebooted today & destroy all reality shows & TV wimps.

  • Nice that some people still listening to oldscool still got this on vinyl and play it

  • Still the best keep it on vinyl and play it sometimes

  • Max's full name Max Headroom 2.3M

  • "..bars on the window 1 2 3 ... sleep" lol :D

  • Comment removed

  • @jdnice1000 Yes JDnice, that made me very mad too. I thought he was one of the best actors out of all of them on the movie. Why did they have to get rid of him so fast? Then I started to wonder if it was a pay thing. Maybe he was so good that they could not afford him for the whole movie. Subscribe to my page if you like retro stuff. I have a ton of it on lots of VHS tapes I'm starting to SLOWLY encode to youtube. WHen I do you'll get the updates on the front of your page if you subscribe.

  • Wikkid!

  • This is what your imagination is like with the combination of LSD and acid.

  • @mikhail2689

    They're the same thing.

  • @mikhail2689 same thing.

  • bumpty bumpty bump

  • I never actually put the pieces together My Favorite Character from Eureka and Max Headroom... A bit creepy and now I know why he is somewhat of an odd actor.. But I still like him :)

  • AON were way ahead of their time, this was 1987, when Robert Palmer, Peter Gabriel and Swing out Sister, back in the day

  • By watching this I now smell Aeon Flux and SHODAN and am having 'Flight of the Navigator flashbacks'.

  • try listening to this before you go to sleep with headphones, sounds really weird

  • @hootyhaha FYI, he was the in 2009 movie, Watchmen by Zack Snyder.

  • @Synthraven "Paranoimia" is a song by English synthpop group Art of Noise released in 1986, from their album In Visible Silence.

  • @Supersweetguy Why are you posting that? It's in the title.

  • @hootyhaha Wait, somebody was asking about this song so I gave the answer.

  • It's a prototype Charlie Sheen.

  • Isn't this the guy who used to present Click on BBC & is now with Al-Jazeera..?

  • He looks like Edgar Winters!

  • Max Headroom...I totally forgot all about him.Hahahahaha. But really : paint him green, give him a yellow hat and it's Jim Carrey as The Mask!

  • Mennyire szerettem ezt a zenét. Pétertől kaptam... :-)

  • The best!!!

  • @hootyhaha Who is the TeenyBopper U are reffering to?-Ah havnt seen anything of the ORINGINAL Max Headroom Tv show since networks stopped airing that show 10-20 years ago,of COURSE people not going to be interrested too much when fresh generation (A-HEM),*Coughs* TRIES to revive those comic actors characters-However,JIM CARREY shouldnt be put down so fast-He can do Max headroom IF HE wasnt rushing that character just for the M-ON-E-Y like for that crappy show MAD TV...show not like magazine>=(

  • Does ANYBODY have *All* of Max HeadRooms Coke a Cola Commercials on tape? I remember he Had a Rapping one,and one where he sounded EXACTLY like Elvis-This guy was TALENTED!-And I Loved watching MAX HEADROOM when it aired in the USA back in the 1980's early 90's

  • "Is that my teasmade?" "I can't stand tea" lol! Love the Max Headroom version!!!!

  • I always wondered if Red Dwarf's Kryten had a brother....now I know!

  • I think he dances well, but I'm 54 ..

  • COOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLL GUUUUUUUUUUUYYYYYYYYYYY

  • you gotta love the 80s they were so cheesey

  • you gotta love the 80s

  • @hootyhaha Acid :3

  • @trillby1 Cool. I wonder if that's why the brand new Max Headroom commercials are on channel 4 today? Look up Max Headroom Channel 4. There are about 5 or 6 digitial converstion commercials that were produced last year or the year before. Not brand new, but new compared to the older stuff. And he's old now, it's funny.

  • Cool ! :)

  • MAX HEADROOM = THOMAS DOLBY

    AHAHAHAHAHAH

  • who is the actor that plays him?

  • @alastarian1 Look up MAX HEADROOM CHANNEL 4 DIGITAL SWITCH for the new Max Headroom commercials and you will see that he is a real computer creation :) tee hee hee. Seriously though, the new ones in the UK are hilarious. And don't ruin the fun, just go with it :)

  • @alastarian1

    Matt Frewer

  • @alastarian1 Matt Frewer

  • @alastarian1 i think its matt frewer he was in zack sniders version of dawn of the dead

  • @devilfan1965 There are brand new Max Headroom commercials online. Look up - Max Headroom Channel 4. There are about 5 different versions.

  • cyberpunk

  • @edmondsnative Look up Max Headroom Channel 4 . . . there were new commercials with the real Max made in the UK about the digital switch. They're freakin hilarious. There's about 5 or them.

  • @hootyhaha Thank's I'll check it out!

  • It´s time for Max Headroom 2011...(Great!!!)

  • @stycal Look up Max Headroom Channel 4. They made new commercials in the UK with the real Max :)

  • When I think of early 90s I think of colour. USA 94', max headroom, ridiculous sportscars parked out in the sun. I was only young but sometimes things just get you and you think they were better than they probably were.

  • @donignacio2000 Honestly, looking at modern childrens cartoons... I think we can see the influence of those decades being passed down to the next generation :)

  • GLADOS high school boyfriend.

  • You'd think with today's CG animation, Max would finally get a WHOLE BODY!

But, no... that would mean trying to get Matt Frewer back in front of a mic or camera to do Max again. Uh-uh. He's worked hard to leave Max behind and have his own diverse acting career. He's not about to come crawling back into the plastic pompadour again anytime soon. T-t-t-too bad. Cast a sound-alike, I guess.

  • @JKSpiero Frewer already did it again. And very recently. Look up these terms: Max Headroom Channel 4, There's about 5 or 6 new commercials over in the UK with him in it talking about DTV.

  • @donignacio2000 and MTV ! -Daz in Oz

  • @StephenSuttieHouse The early 90s were OK. After 1995 though, they started to suck with no originality. And grunge was in full force by then. There was no creativity, everybody thought it was cool to be whiney and negative or cynical, there was NO variety in any sort of fashion, it was all dark and blah. Even the colors were burnt colors. I'd get visually and depressed every time I walked into a clothing store. It's good they're mixing things up again. Grunge is good, but give color 2 us also.

  • @hootyhaha Afganistan ! Wtf.

    35 in Afganistan LOLZERZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TTttt Ta TA tA TA Ta Talking to your self.

  • @hootyhaha thx for this commentar ,we have the same opinion

  • telelvision just LOOKED cooler back then. these days we have all these fancy ass cameras but we don't seem to realize that the improved visual quality these cameras provide take away a lot of the possibilities for truly trippy imagery.

  • @Jazon999 - I think you made the first comment I've read actually saying, generally, that scan lines were a good thing. The old stuff did look cool.

  • @Jazon999 I think some films are lacking atmosphere. Lighting seems to precise these days. I dunno. Film stock, lighting back then.

  • Truly 80`s

  • Max Headroom invented buffering

  • aaaaa 80's music & video's, you could make anything a hit.

  • quite a shiny jacket.

  • This song reminds me of the hospital where I used to work.

  • Watch this after being awake for 3 days in a row, if you feel like a bit of a major freak-out

  • Shit he kicked ass!!! they should just bring him back!!!

  • @johnnygrulez They did for a bit. Look up these terms. Max Headroom Channel 4 Digital Conversion.

  • @johnnygrulez Why not---with CGI as it is now, they wouldn't even need Matt Frewer.

  • The Art Of Noise were ahead of there time.
