  • Great inspiration while writing my trilogy "The Chosen One of Allivar" book trailers can be seen at EWGreenlee channel. Saw the symphony in Dallas and went to Houston to see all the costumes, swords, etc.

  • burning wood has never been so epic

  • Light my fire!

  • Remember the desperation in when he said "Gondor calls for aid!"?

    Such good actors.

  • All the beacons of Gondor are belong to us!

  • 6 people set themselves on fire by accident. Lol

  • Love the strings in this!!!!

  • I am trying to use this music on my animation demo. How have you been able to post?

  • 30 people didn't light the beacons!

  • how can this greatness be in 240p :( no matter it brings down all other orchestral pieces for movies out there

  • Looks like Gollum took 6 people to "her" ... ^

  • Hi, thank you for all that beautiful music.

from what music is this excerpt?

"Gandalf the white sun" on Youtube

    thank you

  • Me: listening to the amazing part at 1:15. Right as it reaches the climax.......VRRROOOOOMMMMMM!!!!!!

My dad: "Open up the door, I'm gonna vaccuum in your room! And after that I need your help cleaning he house!"

    Me: -_- "What? I can't here you!"

  • i love thath

  • I would hate to be one of the guys stationed on one of those mountaintops.

  • Why is this NOT on the OST?! I bought it almost exclusively for this song! Damn, I'm being forced by idiot arrangers to pirate against my will!

  • @spehizle This song is The White Tree

  • @daman2344 On the soundtrack

  • the beakons of minas thirith...the beakons are lit.....gondor calls for aid.....and rohan will answer....muster the rohirrims.....

  • @gurinize you mean hope is kindled :)

  • 1:15

  • @pulleyking And Rohan will answer. Muster the Rohirrim

  • The Beacons! The Beacons are lit! Gondor calls for aid!

  • I love Pippen's face when he lights the beacon and is trying to figure out how to get down xD

  • @LeopoldCrank Well actually it's 'Gondor calls for aid' :/ Hate to be a troll.

  • I'm a let you finish but Star Wars had the greatest music of all time.

  • @LeopoldCrank

I saw the french version first :).

  • i cry EVERY time!

  • Minas Tirith calls for help!

  • @arsenelupin123 And Rohan will answer.

  • its too slow but still good.

  • @ravenwda007 I don't mind. It just means more time until I have to hit play again.

  • INcreibleeeeeeeee!

  • cant wait for the Sydney Symphony Lord of the Rings concert :D :D

  • Fu?&$king studies, I would rather watch these movies all day in Middle Earth than write a fu&?&*king essay on Middle East!!!!

  • the beacon!!!,the beacon of armourdin is lit!!!!!!!

  • @sherazanwar i have it at second behind braveheart

  • How is the song called where Aragorn rides towards Helms Deep on Brego (so after the encouner of the Orks) Or the song where Gandalf takes Peppin to the White City?

  • 0:01 I got tears in my eyes at this point

  • Have you ever been called home by the clear ringing of silver trumpets? One day, our paths will lead us there. And the tower guard shall take up the call: "The Lords of Gondor have returned."

  • @fridun007

haha! thats biblical. thats exactly what happens when Christ returns. :)

  • @87Timbuktu It's 'muster'. 100%

  • the best "ooooh-rah" music in the trilogy!

  • And Rohan will answer, Master the Rohirrim !!!

  • Howard Shore and John Williams should team up and fight crime through music.

  • @beckys757 This isn't music. It's art.

  • @xclickzm yes we will!!!

  • I find myself listening to 1:15-1:28 over and over again. That part also plays in the main menu screen in the LotR:Third Age.

  • ooo i love this!!! but my only problem with it is that its played slower then its played in the movie

  • Damn... My speakers can't get any higher D:

  • i just jizzed my pants

  • this is one of the best scenes in the LOTR 3! "hope is kindle"

  • @msmolenaers Mine too, as well as my favourite moment of all 3 films!

  • you can feel the strength of Gondor, even though it was fading it still had great strength!

  • I'm not so interested in instruments but ... these people really deserve 5/5 =O

  • Even though this is 20 seconds longer than the film version, I have to say I prefer this one. The film version just feels a bit a rushed to me....as though they tried to fit the music to the shots of the White Mountains. The brass in this from 0:50 - 1:14 also sounds more relaxed (in a good way!)

  • I agree with Marksman...those guys are the tops, but one that I would add to the list for his work on The Mummy soundtrack is the late Maestro Goldsmith. While he is a phenomenal composer and barely makes any list, those guys are tops! I am rather curious what you all think about the original LOTR Symphony composed by Johan de Meij in the nineties?

  • A chance for hobbits to show their great worth!

and indeed they did. Pippin, Merry, Frodo and Sam you are all amazing

And so is Howard Shore for creating such beautiful music!

  • Amon Dîn!

  • honest to god i hate the buildup even though the music rocks its just like get to the good part already

  • whoopsie! six people accidentally disliked this!

  • Interesting, he's rearranged it to emphasis the third of the chord instead of keeping it bare like in the movies. The build-up is fantastic but once it hits the theme.....kinda falls flat in comparison.

  • 1.15 = ORGASM

  • @Kempshaw I'm proud to say I play the instrument that introduces the orgasm. :D

  • @Kempshaw Eargasm that is

  • @TheNLguy no when I listen to my boxset soundscore there are certain themes which actually make me cum!! is that normal?

  • @Kempshaw exactually!!! me to its the best part

  • @Pelleovic exactually?

  • too slow.... but an epic piece, i dont know why but on this version he just wanted to go slower, but i think much its epic qualities comes from the quicker, more shocking crescendo as is in the actual movie...

  • I have never seen a better movie then TLOR. thumb's up if you agree..

  • @sherazanwar i agree, but V for Vendetta was right up there with it

  • rohan will be pissed with those five betrayers who disliked the alliance

  • MINAS TIRITH!!!!!!! BEST MOVIE TRILOGY EVER! (btw this is my funeral song hah)

  • @attomal

    I'm doing Into the West.

    That song is beast

  • yeesh. he totally ruined it for this: the climax now sounds triumphant, like an ending, and no longer fits the event it actually accompanied in the movie. the actual clip is somewhere on youtube - watch that instead

  • Yeah! Best going with the picture. I wonder if there is pic first or music first...

  • *goosebumps* majorrrr goosebumps....

  • simply perfectttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

  • only one word for this..........

    epic!

  • Tempo is too slow. Sounds a little tired. Great music, though.

  • @powe2550 Tempo is a bit slower than that in the actual film,in the film its just perfect

  • Those trombonists are godly awesome!

  • @WaterhouseFilms Agree with you on that, Please don't forget those french horns especially at 1:15.

  • Muster The Rohirrim

  • 5 people are clearly hearing impaired.

  • 1:15

    T_T

no words... can explain that epicness...

  • Goosebumps

  • Pure Epicness.

  • The Lord of the Music.

  • Wow, this is brilliant, to write this, make it all sync up and sound good, then actually play it. I never realized there was that many musicians involved in these tracks. There are lot of sounds we don't even realize are there, but everything just flows so nicely. LOTR is one of the most epic sound tracks out there I'd say.

  • i know its not the seen but hold your ground hold your ground i see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me a day may come when the corage of man fails when we forsack out friend and brack all bonds of fellowship but it is not this day an hour of wolfs and shatted shieds when the ageo of man comes crashing down but it is not this day this day when fight for that you hold dear on this good earth i bid you stand MAN OF THE WEST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love this

  • I always follow the lightening beacons and now I know exactly where they will appear :)

  • Awesome part of the movie and awesome music. Gives me chills every time.

  • Did he change the arrangements for this concert? How come it sounds a bit different from the movie? Or am I the only that feels this way?

Lighting of the Beacon is my all time favorite scene since my first movie!

  • I'm going to watch this in the Royal Albert Hall x) SO EXCITED!

  • hope is candle...

  • K so i'm watching this tonight.

  • 1:16 is just such a powerfull moment. I get goosebumps everything when I see the moment on that moment. It's so strong and beautifull part. Really: Hope is kindled.

  • i am dearly in love with this scene in the movie.

  • Hope is kindle...

  • Try playing the game Lord of the Rings Conquest you here this song so much in it.

  • @sbg4evr aye that you do plus the bridge of kaza doom (spelling?) lols

  • @sbg4evr oh yeah, hell yeah, have it and no exactly what u saying :)

  • Hope is candle! Rohan and Gondor! :)

  • if only they had iphones back then rohan would have responded faster.

  • You know that they just honored this scene in America just yesterday? They used giant reflectors as beacons going from Northern Washington state, down to Arizona.

  • Piano notes: D A G F F G F E D Awesome song

  • Aragorn: "Gondor calls for aid!"

    *Awkward pause*

Theoden: "And Rohan shall answer! Muster the Rohirrim!"

  • Where now the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing?

Where is the helm and the hauberk and the bright hair flowing?

  • And boy did Rohan answer!!!

  • @Joshuamc88

    what wanageeska said

  • This is one of my favorite parts of the third movie....the music builds up the suspense as you watch the beacons being lit one by one until Aragorn sees the last beacon being lit and then tells the King of Rohan(i can never remember how to spell his name) and then finally learning that Rohan will help Gondor

  • I love this part in the movie :)

  • AMODIN!

  • 1:16 instant nerdgasm

  • @tsunamizombie AHAHAHA couldn't have put it better.

  • @tsunamizombie Squirting Nerdgasm!

  • one of my favourite scenes in the whole trilogy - the extreme long shots of the beautiful new zealand mountains as each beacon is lit ... <3

  • @satinsmokee its my fav also ever since watching lotr like a million times ive wanted to move to nz

  • I was just thinking about this song the other day

  • the end is the best! After 1:10 i get to dreamland

  • Very beautiful in italian....La speranza divampa!!!

  • 1:16 - one of the most EPIC moments in music/movie history

  • This is by far and away the most complex and exciting piece of film scoring to ever grace the big screen! It is pure genius.

  • I'm going to see this in the Royal Albert Hall this September! I can't wait! :D :D :D

  • @Nightmareb4Chrimbo THat's because of the video quality..

  • Hope is kindled

  • this is the part of the score of The return of the King i like most

  • Whoa... This version sounds weirder than the original version. I like the original better. Still, this is really nice!

  • @Icedrake99 thats because in the movie its faster. This sounds rather good. Very rich sound.

  • this was one of my favorite scenes in the whole movie

  • sublime!!

  • howard shore hands down the best ever.... i like the music from the patriot and starwars and others but it just doesnt compare

  • very magnificed

  • I love that scene in the 3rd movie! Especially the music! :D

  • Howard Shore, along with John Williams, James Horner and Hans Zimmer, are the best film composers of today.

  • Except all of those other guys pay someone else to take their piano/guitar compositions and orchestrate them, whereas Shore does it himself. That makes him 10x better than those other hacks in my eyes.

  • whaha not alot left anymore are there =P whaha but totally right though(A)

  • @Marksman230591 Zimmer tends to repeat himself (compare Gladiator theme to that from Pirates of the Caribbean).

  • @Dodo251 but that's whats great about him, you can always relate him to his work through small repetition, and its like a trademark. They have bits repeated in but all sound completely unique (+ it wasnt hans who wrote the PoTC soundtrack for the first film, but some-one in his studio, but same thing really....) It's just so unique his music, and works so well everytime, even if it does have small bits of repetition.

  • @TRUExSIGHTS You should check out John Williams' work like Jaws soundtrack (fantastic baroque melodies), Exultate Justi from Empire of the Sun (again baroque/classicism influence), not to mention Schindler's list which is an unbelievable soundtrack highly influenced by romanticism and even expressionism.

  • SO EPIC =*)

  • Muy buena.. !! 5 estrellas

  • the version on the soundtrack/used in the film is faster and ino better but this is undoubtedly one of the best pieces from the trilogy, along with march of the ents, rohan theme, evenstar...and just everything! =D

  • I stand corrected. Apparently he's arranged a six movement suite.

  • Why this man hasn't arranged some sort of Lord Of the Rings Suite already from his sound track is completely beyond me.

  • I have no doubt, Howard Shore is the greatest composer of the 21st Century, so far.

  • shivers down my spine

  • The beacons of MInas Tirith! The beacons are lit!

    Gondor calls for aid...

(10 seconds of silence) And Rohan will answer!

  • @yuvsl736 More like 5 seconds.

  • @yuvsl736: yeah i love that part :D

  • @yuvsl736 Master the Rohirrim!
