Is it hard to get the carbon fiber look around the inside curves of the rc body? Any secrets you know of? I'm thinking of painting the hood and sides of the body but don't know if I can make it around the curve...
you spray the transparent black inside the body first, then the silver, still inside the body, and then the background colour.you have to start with a TRANSPARENT colour first, or the rest of your design will not show through
I work in Aviation and can tell you that a RC car/truck bodie can be molded from carbon fiber. I have actually thought about doing one just to dismiss the skeptics.
yeah, you could probably do that. Spend all that time moulding it to fit onto an RC bonnet, then screwing it on, adding a bit more weight to the shell. Then hope it doesnt fly off when you are running it. Maybe read the title to find out what the rest of us is talking about before you post.
obvisly you have no idea what your talking about to get carbon fiber that size for an rc car is not much if your really that lazy and want fake carbon fiber your jsut making your self look cheap there is a huge noticable diffrence between real and fake CF do your research man
+1 im with theomen88.. a carbon body would probably weight the same or more than a lexan body an d cost A LOT more money. not to mention, carbon wont bend and flex as well as lexan will, therefore you just end up wasting money and looking like a tool. its an r/c car... not a race car. it doesn't need real carbon fiber
Don't be a fool blazzer... this video is obviously about painting carbon fiber on a clear r/c car body. There is no way you could mold a body for your car without it looking completely retarded. Try reading the title or even the description next time...
if you dont think CF cant be molded as an r/c body or parts then you really should get some more info/knowledge before you start saying things your not sure of carbon fiber and be molded in to any shaped jsut take examples from any where f1 cars, sea equipment, space equipment if you think people cant mold it for an r/c car or parts then you are sadly mistaken make fake carbon fiber is a cheap bad looking way to do things
In that case, you don't know much about r/c cars then. The whole point of this is to incorporate carbon fiber into a paint scheme. r/c bodies are painted from the inside so the paint doesn't scratch off when you damage the body. If you made a body out of carbon fiber, assuming you even got it to look decent doing it yourself, you wouldn't be able to paint over any of it without it just scratching right off after one roll-over.
hey i love the look but i dont have an airbrush would it be harder to do with like the cans? i think it could be done but im not very good with painting
hey men can you do a tutorial of carbon fiber paint but with cans i mean can paint please

Hi,
well i got one question..
How do you do this inside the shell..?
Because usually for RC we air brush inside not out side, In this case do we Air brush outside..?
godaya 2 years ago
this is how you do it inside thats why you use a transparent black first to make the gray pop out and use the background to close teh deal

@godaya

I have some questions.
Must I use a primer to do this fiber carbon? If yes, what should I do if the primer is black, red or any color else?
Will I see the primer's color through my transparent black?

That would be sweet. Never know, it may take off...early retirement...stop day dreaming, back to work.
typeaggressive 2 years ago
It could, since you can mold most things in CF, but it would weigh loads more than in Lexan, that's why it's not done!

Do you wait for the layers to dry or do you just add the liner and/silver/black paint while its all still wet?
Great vid by the way, i was thinking of just using stick on sheets for my CF bonnet but now ill try this on my S15.
Thank you.
