  • I sorry for the girl but also for the surgeon who has to perform the surgery. Being a nurse I know how much doctors always curse whenever they have to do an surgery on such heavy people. Good luck for the girl. She will be attractive when she comes down to a normal weight because she has a pretty face.

  • i can run 1.5 miles in 8:30..

  • She has a really pretty face, so no one could say she is ugly because she is fat, or was fat.

  • Fat cunt.

  • i wanna see what she looks like now

  • do not do surgery! Its much easier than that and you don't have to go hungry either. Four simple steps

  • Don't spend your money on junk products to lose weight. Four simple steps, FREE for the taking, no strings attached. The same steps the physicians at obesity clinics use. Don't waste your hard earned money. You don't go hungry. You just follow four rules and that’s all.

  • me either

  • i will never do that to my body...

  • Watching this young lady answer questions is one of the most tedious experiences i have ever experienced she talks like its a bloody chore , yea i know not everyone is confident bla bla but but come on your on tv girl make a bloody effort. This young lady says that she tried several diets but they did not work well that is just bull what she means is that she did the diet for one week hated it then started pigging out trust me all diets work its the doing it that is hard.

  • Hi Lby54229 & Everyone else on this this page. Of course this is not easy, if it were, there would not be any challenges in life to grow from. In either case, I was hoping you guys could help me out. I just want to know what your experiences are with your weight loss journey. I don't need to know that its difficult because I already know that. But if I could snap my fingers and give you the tools to make this journey easier, what tools would they be and why? Please list as many as you like

  • i have easy to follow cards with all the food groups and one sweet a day email me okyoudothat@gmail.com

  • I don't feel any sympathy for this girl.. at all.

She's young and there's so much she can do.

I've been overweight (270 lbs at 5'7') all my life and a couple months ago I decided to lose weight. I've dropped 30lbs by just eating healthy, unprocessed foods, eat smaller portions and EXERCISE.

  • hi chasley YUO AERE SO PRATTTY>...;()

  • i recently got approved for weight loss surgery. the date hasnt been set yet, but they said it shouljd happen around august/september. i'm 15, i'll be 16 in august. and there are medical things that make it REALLY hard to lose weight, for the people that keep saying 'just exersize' its not that simple for everyone...

  • No surgery needed! I'm about to show that world that I can lose 300lbs without the gastric bypass, just watch, :)

  • @MrsBabyfat go for it!

  • @MrsBabyfat good luck honey !

  • @MrsBabyfat You can do it!

  • Here is a great way to lose weight just eat 2 regular meals a day. Don't snack on anything eat breakfast and then eat supper and again don't snack on anything and drink lots of water. Believe me it will work very well and after you lose the weight don't start back eating a lot do 2 meal a day 3 times a week and the rest of the week eat 3 meals a day and you will keep the weight off. Hope this helps. Doesn't matter what you eat it works.

  • I wish you all the best honey :)

  • Great vid.

'Naturally thin' people's body use food in a way that regulates their weight and they don't get fat. Same food. Same exercise. But you stay thin or get thin if you started off with excesss weight.

For more information watch The Secrets Of Weight Loss on my channel.

  • Just curious. If she has to go six months as a patient in order to be approved to have this surgery, why not do six months of diet and exercise while being closely monitored by the doctor. What is the REAL REASON that she cannot lose weight with clean eating and regular exercise? i'm not trying to be nasty...I'm seriously curious. She's not missing a limb? Even with diabetes, she could lose weight, albeit slowly. Why surgery, especially at such a young age?

  • I don't mean to be rude with this comment, but I think we are all wondering: If the surgery works BECAUSE you eat less after surgery, why not just eat less and not get the surgery. This isn't magic, its just forcing you to have more self-control. The surgeons are not implanting a self-control box, they're just making it so you will be uncomfortable if you eat too much. Eating less would give you exactly the same result.

  • @dancer1dramaqueen some ppl can't cus have stomach issues like gastric. sensitice stomach etc.

  • 2:15 you can't eat Taco Bell anymore after the surgery? Why not, oh I don't know, NOT have Taco Bell in the first place to lose weight naturally ????

  • After surgery I lost 100 lbs, and the diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and sleep apnea have ALL gone away. I believe most of the overweight is caused by hormone and genetic problems. Corn sugars may be a leading cause.

The operation is a permanent life style change. I can only eat about 6 or 8 bites but I am satisfied. I don't care for meat anymore. Think long and hard about the operation. It isn't for everyone. I would do it again.

  • I have been here a long time. I have exercised and dieted for years. It is not easy. 90% of the people that loose weight gain it back plus 10 or 20 more. I did that trick 4 times. At age 76 I found I had developed arthritis, sleep apnea, high blood pressure, was developing diabetes and was up to 275 lbs.

You have to have a BMI over 40 and meet the qualifications. You will have to be evaluated by several doctors and cleared for the surgery.

Your insurance and/or Medicare may pay for the surgery

  • I wish all the best for her :)

  • the staples on your stomach go all the way up to your chest and down to your waist you have to keep them in for a long time i know that because i was with my mom when she got a Gastric Bypass Surgery

  • just work out and eat right?

  • @golfinguy55555 It's not easy for some people to just work out and eat right.

  • @MamiOf3kids Why is it not as easy for some people to work out and eat right as others? What is the real reason? Not enough discipline? Not enough knowledge? I just do not understand. What do some make excuses for it while others do not.

  • Do you think a 250 pound person could lose 100 pound in 6 months after surgery?

  • @royaltyhasarrived yes, I lost that amount 275 down to 175. It is not easy. You give up the pleasure of eating but can still enjoy a small amount at one time. Six bites.

  • I have had gastric bypass op over 2 yrs ago and I have lost around 17 st now and I don't regret having the op at all the only thing is some days I have no hunger to eat at all. Also I have had no real aftercare ether nor guidance from nhs in the uk at all the only support I have had is from a independent weightloss support grp I attend without their help I wouldn't gone thought it as well as I have as I had no help from nhs after op at all

  • she would have been really pretty with out the fat!!!

  • there is a cure.... exercise!!!

  • @tim0090 That is one rude comment! If you can't be nice, don't watch youtube vids!! MF

  • @tim0090 That works for many people but NOT everyone!!! Bariatric surgery has helped thousands of people regain their good health, put diabetes into remission, and lose weight to be fit and attractive again.

  • @tim0090 New evidence suggests that vigorous exercise stimulates the appetite. It is a vicious circle and not as simple as you suggest.

  • @tim0090 thats funny. I do about 4 and a half miles every other day (3 to 4 times a week). Do the math. thats 13.5 to 18 miles a week! I hit about 150 bpm and hold that for over 75% of the time. Been on a strict excercise routine 3 months now. Think im thin? nope. In fact I gained a couple pounds. all my vitals improved dramatically as far as b/p and my resting bpm go but it got me no where with my weight problem. Excercise is not a cure. Never was. Naive to believe its a one fits all solution.

  • This surgery will not work if you work against it. My cousin had it done and she is an alcoholic. She lives on beer, not food. So she gained all her weight back. You can drink and eat yourself fat again. Simply having the surgery is no guarantee you won't gain your weight back. It is a lifetime commitment to a 'life style' of diet and exercise after surgery. Yes, you still have to diet, the surgery will not 'cure' you of obesity. Start by not overfeeding your kids. Food is not love.

  • I think these ops are now turning into money spinners and with there being so many variations people are being spoiled for choice. I feel it is now too easy to eat yourself virtually to death and at that point decide you need an operation. What happened to intervention? Many people are advised to lose weight before undergoing these ops and do so successfully. Why not continue? Deal with your issues otherwise they will keep as a slave with or without surgery...

  • treadmill?

  • I'm actually trying to get the lap band done right now. I'm 15 and weigh 275 pounds. I'm almost done with my six months but ever since I started with my six months I have been trying to eat healthy and exercise a lot. So far I have made it to walking 5 miles a day! Hopefully the FDA will approve me. Wish me luck. <3

  • @erinmooresays Good luck <3 How is everything now?

  • @erinmooresays im a 17 year old boy and i weigh 437 pounds and im going to get a gastric bypass next week, because my doctor said if i dont lose weight i wont live to see my 21st birthday because of my obesity, so i suggest you get a lap band while your still young so you dont end up weighing over 400lbs like me

  • @PatriotConservative1 I saw your comment, and I just wanted to wish you good luck! Hope everything works out good for you! <3

  • you can eat nacho bell grande without chips, i do all the time, i just have them add extra beans, i eat it for like 2 meals and i had surgery im 4 months post op

  • the only people who get this are people dont have the motivation to diet and exercise. Its the lazy way out

  • when I was 14 I weighed over 200 pounds with a 150 cm high. I was bullied and always embarrassed of myself. One day I've said ENOUGH. I stopped throwing food into myself and went on a low calorie diet, and I started exercise everyday for two hours. Today I'm 25 healthy and happy woman. WITHOUT gastric band or any surgery. all you need is self motivation and strong will not to eat sweets and fat food....

  • @Kat23Cardiff Good for you, thats great. Ive lost weight first through exercise then diet. I can appreciate some people are severely morbidly obese but i watched a doc the other day where a guy was 39 stone he lost 11 stone in less than a year just by changing diet and light exercise. He did go on to have surgery but it shows with more encouragement people can lose at least 50% of their weight through dieting exercise will speed it up even more.

  • YOU SWEET THING GOD BLESS YOU HOPE EVERTHING GOES WELL.

  • I am 46 and I weigh 344lbs. I want to get gastric bypass surgery but cant afford it so I put a Video up here too. Can you tell me how to get people to go see my video and maybe help me? Bless you for doing what you need to do to get better.

  • After the surgery,STOP EATING BURGERS!!!!!!!

  • effects and should only be considered in EXTREME cases. Once the body returns to a un-bypassed stomach, it automatically will store evrything you eat and turn into fat as it was put under so much duress during the starvation, not knowing if this will happen again. Educate yourselfs on nutrition, understand how & what the body needs and why. Keep away from cans and boxes, eat plenty of fish from a good source, chicken, turkey lean meat cuts, LEAFY VEG and portions people, learn portioning

  • OMG no do not do this...pls ladies i beg you.

Their is no quick fix for obesity. Its a lifestyle change. To do this forces the body into a starvation mode, the body will start to use fat but as you continue to deny it nutrients it will then turn to burning proteins which are easier and faster to convert. As the body burns up essential vitamins it will turn to any resource it has in other words cannibilise itsself to keep the brain and organs alive. This is not good and has serious long term

  • @dinglenutzz - That's not entirely true! I don't think the doctors would do this if there was that risk! People who have this surgery are on a regimen of vitamins and must stick to them. I've 5 months out from surgery and everything is going fine!

  • how much in sterling would it cost to have your stomach re stable

  • @molly61able I suggest that you talk to your doctor or health care professional regarding this.

    Rob

    jnjhealth

  • @molly61able if you had universal health care the cost would be minimal

  • @molly61able what does re stable mean?

  • KEY WORDS "I cant eat what i want anymore".... "I used to eat those ALL THE TIME". Most of the problems with weight in America have to do with the presence of sugar every where and people not wanting to take the time to fix a meal when they can get it on the cheap and on the fly. A lot of weight can be lost even by a simple colon cleanse like Dr. Naturas' Colonix ( no affiliation).

  • I guess for some people, chicken mcnuggets and french fries are too hard to resist.

  • @aldenone Please contact the following emailbox for additional information: customersupport@eesus.jnj.com

  • so.. bascially your stomach is smaller, forcing you to eat smaller amounts of food. But what was the pouch thing she talked about in the other one??? Do you have the pouch and tube thing forever???

  • @aelove456 Please contact the following mailbox for additional information: customersupport@eesus.jnj.com

  • @aelove456 - Yes your stomach is changed forever - you have a small pouch. And no you don't have your drains forever.

  • @aldenone I will try and find out the answer

    Rob

    jnjhealth

  • I hope she has done well, she is like me, way too pretty to be overweight

  • The thing is that people dont have the will power to lose weight!!! she could of ate little portions at meal time but she instead she got surgery!!! it is the same thing it is body over mind!!!!!

  • i just complate 8 mounths from this surgry...

    and i already lost 60 K.G

but actually i got my abs :P

i look soo hot now :P i can show u guyz if u want =]

P.M me if u wanna see how i look like now and befor... =]

  • is it covered by insurance or a finacial program? i have a friend of mine who wants to do it and she's trying to paying out of her pocket, yikes.

  • @melodyisfxcnrad I'm going to try and find out.

    Rob

    jnjhealth

  • @melodyisfxcnrad Most of insurance companies They do it because they find it to be cheaper to pay for the surgery, then to pay for other complications down the road from being over weigh. One of my friends had it covered under some kind of state insurance ( i live in Minnesota). All your friend would need to do is go talk to someone in your local financial department for the county and/or state you live. They will be able to help her. Or at least direct her to someone that can.

  • @melodyisfxcnrad

YES INSURANCE PAYS FOR IT CALL YOU INSURANCE COMPANY AND SEE IF BARIATRIC SURGERY IS COVERED ON YOUR POLICY AND ASK THEM WHAT THE PROTICAL IS THAT YOU DO THEN CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR THEY CAN HELP TOO

  • @melodyisfxcnrad Please contact the following mailbox for additional information: customersupport@eesus.jnj.com

  • I have been playing with the idea of a mini gastric by-pass,for some time now.

I will be 50 years old in 6 months,i dream of wearing a little black dress...not going to happen. My son is 18,he was 9lb 10 oz when he was born,i have twin daughters 15,one was 5lbs2oz,the other was 4lbs 13oz ,and they were 2 months early.

I now am 210 lbs,I am bigger then when i had my girls. The main factor in my decision is money. Are there programs to help?

    Thank you,

    Mar

  • @breelee03 Please contact the following emailbox for further information: customersupport@eesus.jnj.com

  • @breelee03 See? That's what's wrong with you... your mindset... "not going to happen". Do not blame genetics, do not blame society, do not blame your responsabilities, and the most important thing don't blame yourself. You can do it without hurting your body that way, that's dangerous and bad for you.

  • @breelee03 Beware of severe loss of muscle mass.

  • @breelee03 Hi, before you decide for bypass, pls see a endocronologist, there might be something wrong with your hormonal houshold.

  • @breelee03 Before you do this, give the raw food lifestyle a try. You don't have to jump right into it, you gradually move into it by removing things from your diet until get there. Changing old habits are hard but not impossible. Before you know it you will be glad you took the "raw" route over the bypass one. Use your computer and read everything you can about going "raw". Don't listen to whata others will say, just get the facts for yourself and then you make the decision. I did.

  • @breelee03 Don't if my memoriy is right this surgery is going to get banned soon, you should get the sleeve done my mom alredy lost alot of weight. and often after this surgery they still can gain it all back. (or was that the lap band)

  • @breelee03 dont do gastric bypass. you are 50 years old. you are never going to have a perfect body.

  • i've always thought about this... operation...

i play every sport... turst me... im not a couch potato...

i just LOVE to eat... lol and i feel by the time im 40, im not gonna be okay... im only 23... but i know this is gonna get worst...

like i said my blood sugar are fine.. i have a insulin pump.. my average ac1 test is 6.0 to high 6's RARELY i have seven...

so what do you recommend i do... the insulin makes me retain every thing... ITS HARD TO LOOSE WEIGHT..

  • @240SSONLY We can't dispense any medical advice or opinions. We strongly recommend that you consult with your doctor or health care professional.

    Rob

    jnjhealth

  • @JNJhealth fair enough... and thank you for your professionalism...

i didnt even know this was an official channel from JnJ

and i am a HUMAN... i can make my own decision based on others opinions... lol im not gonna follow some random advice and then sew... lol

    thank you

  • im a big dude... 6"1-2" i used to weigh 250 back in high school... solid guy, but now i have a more sedentary life... (office wrkn life) im now close to 290... and i should be around 220...

i intake LARGE amount of quick acting insulin since i was born wiht diabetes...

im only cencernet about my lfie now... because i eat like i have a whole in my stomach. lol (i do have a healthy life and good metabolism) but now my knees are hurting... and i feel my body rejecting the insulin... my ac1 is 6.0

  • @240SSONLY

Im 6'2 and 310 Im having it done next month I cant wait I used to be 200 and looked good then....

  • What really bothers me is the comments from thin or young ppl who haven't a clue about being obese and Assuming that over weight ppl are lazy and/or stupid. Consider every step we take we are lifting 100 to 200 lbs, can you do that? Can you do that all day? Can you exercise and run around with that kind of weight on you? Try it, load up weights and live more than one day with them, then run your mouth. And to all the others like me, keep on trying ; >

  • @internetbabs been there done that and lost more than 100 pounds how? stop stuffing and start walking gastric bypass is the easy way out

  • apart from loosing weight , would this surgey eliminate , acid reflux (gerd) diesese

so killing two birds with one stone in effect ???

  • she talks like she is tired or something.... i know plenty of people who have lost weight from diet and exercise.... that is all it takes!! My boyfriend lost 60 lbs from working out and eating healthier!

  • nonononooooooo, camon people, every person has will power, you just have to endure this hard time, you have to exercise you will power. fight, fight and fight some more. it is possible. operation is the easy way out, but only in the beginning. later you have to give up most of the good foods you love... easier in the beginning, harder rest of the life. but ecercising willpower and eating normal is very hard in the beginning but once you get used to it, and you will sooner or later you still can

  • thats after it duh...she said i can only eat 4 ounces..

  • ilikecookie88 ur a dingbat getting surgery is not easy nor is healing from it

  • Lazy lazy lazy.

Just eat well and exercise, stop trying to find the easy way out.

  • @iLikeCookie88 this stuff isn't the easy way out you try being cut open having your stomach cut up having to deal with the pre op the pain after the healing changing the way you eat and everything else then once you've gone through it all then come back and say its easy until then learn to STFU not everyone whos over weight is like that from eating horrible and not exercising.

  • how are u doing now?

  • lol instead of spending alot of your parents money (which some of this is their fault).

Exercise and diet thats key to being fit.

  • Did you ever think to stop eating before it got to this point?

  • @Greensam18 did you ever think to stop being critical about something you know nothing about!!!!!!!!!

  • this is her after that surgery?

  • @RIPbiggyTUPAC No, it's before.

    Rob

    jnjheatlh

  • Did she really need to get a surgery to learn that she has to shew her food properly ?? That's ridiculous.

  • @SexyAlien2

You need to chew your food A LOT after this surgery. Much more than a person wothout the surrery would.

  • lazy people taking the lazy way out

  • @breakthrice - this is definitely not the easy or lazy way out. You need to get your facts straight before you start criticizing people. It is remarks like yours that shows us how stupid and ignorant people like you really are

  • @breakthrice

You think 4 months of tests and liquid diet is the easy way out?

After the surgery you need to change your eating habits and excerise a lot. Is that the easy way out?

Obesity is addiction to food, therefore a desease. Is surgery the easy way out of a desease?

  • @breakthrice I feel the same. she had to wait for 6 months. If she exercised & ate healthy during those 6 months she could have lost at-least 40 to 48 pounds. Most importantly she would have adopted some long term healthy habits.

  • I had the fobi pouch version of this surgery done at the end of october. I have already lost 110 pounds (results not typical) and dont have diabetes anymore. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Best of luck to u all.

  • I know someone personally who had this done, and have heard several other stories. The diet you have to follow after the surgery is so restrictive you might want to rethink getting this done! And the results aren't permanent if you don't follow the diet and stretch out your stomach again. It happened to Connie Wilson

  • For some people it's a matter of life and death. I weighed 439 pounds at age 21. I had diabetes, high blood pressure and sleep apnea.

  • did you every really try and work out and walk it off?????

  • @yalg22 wonder how that happened.....

  • @oophelia46 ......ok, Oophelia, I am 5 months post RNY (gastric bypass) surgical. The initial diet after surgery is 2-3 weeks each starting with liquids, pureed foods, soft, then general. So I can now eat anything everyone else is eating, I just chew it very well, eat slowly and have very small amounts (1/6 what other folks eat), and I am full and satisfied. The restrictive diet is only while the healing finishes inside. I've lost 91 pounds, 20 to go, and will do this forever. Not hard to do

  • @rexxcarz Thanks for the info. Sorry it took so long to post.

    Rob

    jnjhealth

  • @oophelia46 makes you think why diet and exercise isn't the course of treatment in the first place? (and maybe some psych support) I know that would sure help me! I'm lazy and I know it! Weirdly I found this site out of interest of surgery (I'm a nurse).

  • @dana102083 Good point. I always found it ironic that nurses would be disproportionately obese, given that they are health care providers. My doctor friend tells me that this is cuz their job duties (lots of paperwork, computer time, etc) require them to be sedentary. Yes, psych support is important, too, since a change in thinking can lead to a change in eating habits and exercise.

  • @oophelia46 And Rush Limbaugh. That's why he got 'sick' in Hawaii a year ago.

  • For the people that say just eat right and exercise, ITS NOT THAT EASY!!! My insurance paid for my surgery in full, I would have had to pay $40 copays for each nutritionist visit. I had the surgery back in 2008 I started at 250lbs, my biggest ever was 282. I went down to 150lbs I kept it off until I got pregnant i went up to 185 and now 8 weeks after my daughter was born im about 165 i only have 15lbs left to lose all my baby weight. This surgery is not an easy out by all means.

  • my wife did in november 2009 she doing very well. I will have my surgery february 15.

  • @cadelcas

    Hi, cadelcas,

I'm from Holland and the docters will help me with an small manchet......... I wish you and your wife very very much luck, succes and get well soon!!

  • the bad think of Bypass is that when they they make new surggery to get back to her normal stomack, they get all fat back and really fast.. that's the sadest part.. i've seen some really bad ceses, because i'm working in medecin institution.. just eat less thats all, and stop eathing Junk food..

  • i'm trying to lose weights everytime but i never manage it :/

I'm on dieat again,i'm not fat but i have extra luggages since i was 12.

now i!m 17 and i wanna be attractive girl like others! I wanna have nice body too..

I hope i can do this diet...

I wish everyone can do it.Because i know how they feel !

  • walk 1 hour each day with a bit quick speed, + eat many "smaller" meals each day instead of a few big ones - and I'm sure you'll manage to loose weight :) remember to stay away from too much sugar.

  • this is the best advise you can offer. I have been walking for 10 months now and have shed 114lbs. I do have to watch what I eat also. You MUST exercise surery is not the answer. I know 4 people that have had it which is why I inquired. 3 of them are within sight of the same weight that they were pre surgery

I WON"T DO IT.... I was going to but I now know that it is not necessary.

  • thanks,,, i took this advice from a doctor, it does work, i like getting off my fat ass and working out,,, its getting smaller......

  • @lilianocean

    When I was 8-9 I was really nice-looking and slim but now I'm 12 now and I'm 63/64 kg's

I hate the way I look but I'm not fat. I just have fat on my stomach but its soo embarasing!

I'm on a diet now, I dont eat after 6 (pm) and I go outside everyday

  • @marshmallowsims11 i was same but wen u get in teens u start to slim down just keep active and play some sports

  • @marshmallowsims11 i know how you feel back when i was 9 i went threw a really cute stage but now i'm sixteen and sometimes i don't even feel pretty anymore.

  • HIYA , im geting that done soon ,and abit scared ! hun you can get married any way that doesn't stop you ! but anyway good for you hun !

  • I think that if you can afford it, you have looked through the options and if gastric bypass is the choice for you then, more power to you. I am a 315 lb woman and I am considering it. I am trying to lose weight and I am just starting out with diet and exercise first. But if I find after 6 months that I am not getting the results I want, then I just might go ahead with the surgery.

  • eat meat, stay off carbs, simples.

  • The price of surgery would pay for a good nutritionist and an hour long session with a personal trainer 3 times a week for six months, CZebelle.

The surgery is useless if you don't change behaviors and habits.

  • yea..but insurance does not pay for either of those...most anyway...

  • @thegirl44 But you need to get off your couch. easier options are more attractive. :( Did you hear what was hard part for her.. giving up nachos grande or something like that.

  • Thank you for sharing your story~!

  • it's not just about having will power, or working your but off...there's hormonal changes involved with the surgery...my wife will be getting surgery in november (god willing) ... my brother got the surgery about 2 years ago... they both tried everything prior to surgery, but gym/diet doesnt always work... if you go back to eating junk food and playing WOW you'll gain the weight right back... whether the surgery or exercise, you gotta make a life-long change in order to stay healthy and fit

  • I would love to see your progress..God bless you and thank you for sharing your story...YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL

  • I think this is what I should go through, even if it kills me cuz I'm sick of getting soo much shit from people, I'm sick and tired of being made fun of, and picked on about my weight.. I been through this same shit all my life. now its time for a new change. This obesity is really killing me. I'm gonna be a better man in the future, not some fat, out of shape, obese loser for the rest of my life!

  • For those of you who have never had a weight problem, it's so easy for you to stay "Stop eating". It's not like quitting smoking to where you totally stop. You have to eat. Gastric bypass is not as easy as many people think. People say it's just the easy way out. No really, you still have to work on it and exercise.

  • I have weight problem from not being resposible with my food. Instead of eating correctly I ate what I wanted and in 10 years I went from a very skinny 160 to 250. I will say myself was pure not manageing my food. I was not an overwirght kid growing up. There are poeple however who have strugled all thier life and is not as simple as stop eating in fact I know a person who got a bypass within 5 years gained all of it back plus 50lbs. Its a battle even with surgery

  • Some people are so ignorant! Things like a thyroid problems can lead to weight gain that is impossible to lose. And that would be just ONE reason to have these surgeries. I have been working my ass off for the last year, dieting, getting a personal chef/nutritionist and through all the changes I've made I've only gained weight.

My family has a long history of heart disease and I am worried about my health and life, I think this might be my only option. People who can't relate should shut up!

  • why go in and out with people they claim they dont agree with the operation but they typed in gastric bypass to get on this page humm see if you check that out u wouldnt have to worry about what they are saying they dont have what it takes to get you were your trying to go focus on yourself stick to the plans and for those that have all the questions on how to.were can i buy your book??? mental weight outweighs the physical dont have time for haters god bless those on their weight lost journey

  • This is very brave of you to post. Thank you very much. God bless you in your weightloss. It can't be easy xx

  • Who are you to judge? Here it is not a questions of loosing 10 or 20 pounds. Have some respect, there is poeples that are doing drugs, taking pills or alcohol and you don't judge them like that. So keep your stupid comment to yourself , this is the samething for racism or else, your ignorance making you writing those stupid things! Get some hepl, maybe in your case it would be a psychologue whon would help you more!

  • wat is with judyandrangi1 and praising the lord?

  • how old do you have to be to get a gastric bypass?

  • would ya??

  • I just had GB surgery 2 weeks ago and I'vee lost 20 lbs. I had 50 more to go. Seems like i didn't have a lot of weight to lose but before anybody starts judging weight loss surgery patients, they should look at the health hazards that forces a person to get this surgery. I had diabetes, High blood pressure, High cholesterol, Sleep apnea, and now I don't. The quality of life I had before was very bad and now I've added years to my life. I would do it all over again!

  • you tell em dude or dudeette. i too have had surgery 4ms ago lost 70 pounds and feeling great. omg i can climb stairs lol

but seriously iam starting to feel really good about myself

  • So exercise? There is a reason you lost weight, because you eat less. You're no more healthy than you were before unless you exercised, You could of saved yourself a possible death and a lot of money if you just had dieted and exercised, i for one am proof of this.

  • Not everybody have your strengh!

Try to be more understandig :O)

  • they make you exercise. you have a diet and exercise plan, in addition to the surgery.

  • I as well.. I balooned up to 275 because of junk food and world of warcraft. I looked in the mirror and didn't like what I saw.. so I quit playing WoW and joined a Gym, 4 months later I am down to 210lbs and can run a mile without stopping. Hard work pays off, not removing part of your stomach.

  • Good on you mate. Hope you keep it up :D

I know what you mean about WoW, believe me lol.

  • I agree scotch.

  • you shouldent eat so much then 171sheree

  • Basically too much of anything is bad.

  • I hate people that take the easy way out.

I don't care what body type you have, endomorph, ectomorph, mesomorph... I don't care if you've been fat your whole life.

It is -not- impossible to lose weight. It isn't. I know some people really do have problems with fat and work out and eat healthy.. but... Still.

Willpower. Food is just temptation, if you can outdo the tempting of sugar and sweets, you can do -anything- and you can get the body you want.

  • it doesn't MAKE you lose the wieght. you still have to work at it. it just helps.

  • Heres a thing, its also about knowledge... You see those anorexic girls following your plan, avoid the temptation and exercise... but look at them... You have to wtch what you eat, if you eat too little, you look like the anorexic chicks

  • I agree with you completely. All gastric bypass surgery is doing is stopping you from eating the things you want to eat by making you physically sick. Also your stomach is only the size of an small egg. Sounds like willpower AND portion control to me. Look at Ron on Biggest Loser. He had gastric bypass and he still ate and remained fat. Then he had to exercise and guess what!? He lost weight. Imagine that.

  • Not ture, i've been fighting to lose weigth in 4 whole years now. I dont eat sweets (I actually dont even like it) i eat healty food, non fat and so on. I dont even drink cola and such things, i drink water and eat fruits, i go on long walks. Still im at the same weight as before. So no.. Some people NEEDS the surgery.

  • r u eating proteins (almonds, meats, eat beaters/egg whites) with the fruits (ehich u probly know r carbs)? bcuz my nutritionist syas that u should NEVER eat carbs by themselves. i always carry almonds with me everywhere i go (the amount u should eat per meal is10)

  • yea that's true people are built differently but it's impossible to tell whose trying and who isn't you know?

  • yea i understand that some people have trouble. but u could also try diatery supliments like conjugated linoleic acid or just do mor excive exercise not just walking

  • lol if you eate 50 banana's a day you still get fat.

1 banana has over 123 cal in it.

listen what does the surgery do?????

    it makes you eat lesssss

duhhh so what is the problem?

    eating

wich means if you eat less you willllll have the same effect.

if i gave a obease person water and bread, and send hem to the desert for 2 weeks.

i wanna bed that he comes back as skinny as hell

  • i dont want to be mean but i dont believe you it makes no sense at all your body has multiples reactions to what you make it adapt to every detail you have mentioned would force your body to burn fat and maintain a balance through out your four years maybe you have excessive binging you havent included
