  • i wish nick hamond was still being the amazing spiderman for CBS live action televsion seris like he done on CBS in 1970s live action telvesuion seris i bet his show would sell like hotcakes with butter and pancake suryup on it:)

  • yes nick hammond sure does i bet hes really the ammazing cool spiderman:)

  • 0:34 ok guys help´me here,

  • Haha thats his beeocth for the hot sexxy nights!!!!!

  • why does he stick his butt out when climbing the building?

  • His hairdo is SUH-WEET!

  • Did he get the mark of the beast?

  • hate to say it but.... the olnly black person in spider man is venom not a girl.... sorry just facts

  • @KamekazeKuban Friend, you're missing a number of people. There's Rocket Racer, Cardiac and the hero end (Cardiac more than anti-hero at times). Cloak of the famed Marvel ebony and ivory duo Cloak and Dagger, made his first appearance in "Spectacular Spider-Man #64" in '82. At the Daily Bugle, the pro-Spidey and perfect counter to J. Jonah Jameson---Robbie Robertson--is black. Spidey and Peter have been well accompanied by black people.

  • Love how they used the font from the comics for the titles... wonder if they'll do that for the new one...

  • This is the theme I think of when I think of this series! To me, it fit Spider-Man to a tee! The one in the following season was too disco for my tastes!

  • music to old tv show intros kick ass, nuff said.

  • @meatloaf928 yep!

  • song like from 70s porn ,forgive me god i could not resist =)

  • the BEST tv show EVER !!

  • my favorate tv show

  • i dont care what anyone says this was a good tv show fuck CGI effects!

  • @doctorw2

stan lee, the creator of spiderman prefer japanese spiderman to the american live action show. both were made in the 1970s. if you haven't seen it, search "japanese spiderman marvel trailer".

  • @RX78 ive seen that one i liked that too.

  • When he climbs walls, why does he look like he's taking it in the ass?

  • Problems with this show? a: the utility belt worn on the outside. b: only one web-shooter. c: web-shooter worn on the outside of the glove. c: outside of hte pilot, the only time Peter used his powers out of costume was when his spider-sense would go off. d: His spider-sense gives him IMAGES OF DANGER as opposed to just a tingle without visual aids. e: NO UNCLE BEN DEATH AND LESSON LEARNED. f: ONLY JJ AND AUNT MAY WERE FROM THE COMICS. f: No wise-cracks. g: No classic villains.

  • My god was this show shit.

  • the music to these old intros are baddass !!!

  • When are they gonna put this on DVD?!

  • @enyawd1977

Probably when next year's new Spider-Man movie comes out

  • hahahaha

  • what i find funny is that in this intro..his mask has white eyes while in the second opening of this show his mask eyes is black...lol gotta love him crawling but the Japanese version (robot and alien spider) aside look better

  • I thought actor David White (Larry Tate from Bewitched) was in this series as J. Jonah Jameson.

  • @Astraldragon1

He was ... Larry Tate played Mr. Jameson, the newspaper publisher, in the 90-minute pilot episode. Robert F. Simon took the role in the weekly series.

  • @spider9137 , thanks for the info

  • @Astraldragon1

He was ... Larry Tate played Mr. Jameson, the newspaper publisher, in the 90-minute pilot episode. Robert F. Simon took the role in the weekly series. Oops ... actually, I meant David White (aka Larry tate) ...

  • Oldies, but damn sure are goodies.

  • 36 wooo web slinging lol

  • i have the full 1st season on dvd. it was hard to find but i did.

  • was this a tv movie or a show i was born in 77

  • @ronjr77 BOTH

  • The Amazing Pajama Man!

  • favorited,,,,,,,,,,,how the hell did you obtain this?

  • Loved this show, wish it had a longer run.

  • I WILL KNOW HOW HE FITS IN THE SUIT WITH THAT HAIR

  • I think I'll take Danny Elfman's theme.

  • At least this opening is ok. The other one's music is just so outrageous.

  • The music of this series of movies spiderman, it's exciting to this day some people I know who watched the series many years ago, do not forget the songs of this serie tv

  • parerce que a musica foi feita por uma orquestra.

  • talk about lookin cheesy LMFAO...... boy we sure did come a far way

  • the title font is exactly like the comics!

  • Question: Does Spider-Man makes any wise cracks on this show? I've seen the pilot and it appears he only says one thing at the end.

  • ive seen few episodes in this show, and half the time spider-man usually says "call the police" thats usuully all he mainly says

  • Not really. This show isn't too accurate in terms of characterization.

  • @DCMULTIVERSE Plus I don't think Peter Parker could afford a coat and tie on his Daily Bugle salary like Nick Hammond always wore, Jolly Jonah Jameson did after all always pay him well below minimum wage even with all those Spider-Man photos he always brought in. ;)

  • spiderman looks better in this one just saying

  • This theme was constantly in my head as a kid and into my 30's and 40's. I made contact with the composer, Stu Phillips, who also wrote the theme for Knight Rider, Battelstar Gallactica(the 70's series) and many others. Stu is a great guy and thanks to him we have great memories and great music from one of the classics from a great television era.

  • Loved this show as a kid and could still watch and actually have on vhs.

  • I was six years old when this and the Incredible Hulk came out...man, it was a great time to be a superhero fan! Comic books were only 25 cents, and Megos were $2. I had a Remco energized Spider-man doll from this show that would climb up his web...ahh, the memories!!

  • Is there a DVD package with the whole 1970s TV Series out in stores? Where can I get it?

  • I used to love this as a kid, closest think to have live action spiderman. He hasnt age very well;)

  • i hated this opening theme.i always preffered the other theme that went with this show.

  • omg... cannot beleive this was an actual tv show! it looks horrible, but it is the 70's!

  • rofl xD

  • LOL i luaghed when he was climbing the wall at 0:27

  • Spider-man in the 70's. Can't get much better than those memories.

  • I liked Robert F. Simon as Mr. Jameson ... though I wish we might have seen the city editor Mr. Robertson. He would have been a much better foil for Jonah than Rita.

  • Yeah , that would have been a great edition to the series.

  • Oldies but goodies.

  • I agree, but the first two Spider-Man movies are quite good.

  • this is a great theme

  • Nick Hammond sure fits for the role of Parker!

  • @retrozfann

Absolutely, he looks much more like Peter Parker from the comic book than Tobey Maguire.

  • @proff180 no doubt on that!

  • I remember this from my kddie years and yeah still cool to me.

  • Her name is Rita, not Betty.

  • original pilot had a different actor for jameson with hair and it's not betty brandt. she represents gloria grant.

  • This show still rocks! I loved the webshooters on the outside of his costume, I thought they looked so cool!

I also thought this costume was better than the newer movies...

  • @skeptic91 At least, they let him have the shooters unlike the movie.

  • Love this intro of the Amazing Spider-Man in comparison of the other intro, but man let me tell you, I enjoy the show Re-runs years ago so much, that today, I do mountain climbing all thanks to my favorite super hero, Spider-Man!!

  • I remember seeing this when I was a little kid and even then I thought that the special effects sucked. Six Million Dollar Man's special effects blew it away -- and all they did was use slow motion & sound effects.

  • is that Stu Phillips who composed this?Sounds like his work.

  • I loved Spider-Man when I was young and still love it today. I watched the 70s tv show and the movies from 2002 and forward. However, I recognize the limitations they had in the 70s about having a stunt man actually swinging from a white rope to resemble Spider-Man's web. I think they did pretty good considering. We look at it today from jaded eyes and CGI effects that have spoiled us. Plus, had CBS let Stan Lee write the show, like Hulk, I think it would've lasted as long as Hulk.

  • does ANYBODY know if the 70s SM are on DVD? somebody holla.

  • no, they are not. some hav been released on VHS, but not DVD (if u like it, ther considering reviving it)

  • I'm so surprised this show is not on DVD yet! I've seen other shows from this era released on DVD EXCEPT Spiderman... The Incredible Hulk is on DVD, S.W.A.T is on DVD, Starsky and Hutch - and so many others. I wish they would release it. I wonder why this - my favorite show as a kid - isn't on DVD.

  • Very creepy music but well suited to this movie.

  • They should use this music for the next spiderman movie.

  • The music is nice, but bland. It could fit any show from the 70's, or early 80's. The other theme is funky and exciting. I do like the footage better in this one though.

  • i wish they made a movie of this spider-man...i hate toby as peter.

  • were can you watch a whole episode

  • I Friggin love this theme!

  • I agree this music is beautiful! does any1 know if there is a longer version of this song, where can i find it?

  • I agree with everyone here i think the music is awesome, but i dont know a longer version plz some one tell us. They need to bring back music like that for todays movies.

  • The movies definitely all have a deep storyline... but the TV show is more believable... I can SEE him climb through buidings and it makes me shiver-- I HATE HEIGHTS!; in the Movie, it is all animated.

I wanted a video game, I would just play one!.

  • I agree. I feel the same. What makes this version better than other versions is that the main character's personnel life is not like watching and All My Childrens show.

  • This is definitely the better of the two themes; sexy-swinging sax music definitely does not suit Peter Parker.

This theme has got a much more adventurous theme, and the middle part where Peter changes in the alley is funky.

  • Both themes are good but prefer the other intro. Cool beat.

  • this theme is the best version from the show i think. thanks for the memories.

  • Does anybody know what ever happened to lead actor Nick Hammond?

  • yea he lives in australia and does mostley behind the scenes stuff like writing and producing.

  • That is cool and thanks for the input. Last time I saw him was in 2001 in CRocodile Dundee 3. I saw him and thought holy s--t, that is Peter Parker. Looked the same but older. LIked him as Parker and would like to have seen a cameo in the new Spiderman movies.

  • He has dual citizenship here and in australia.

  • When I was a kid, there were three live action Spider-Man videotapes at my video store. I can't tell you how many times I've rented and watched them. But now, there's only one left! I hope they consider releasing this show on DVD.

  • This opening music is eerie and good in its own right but the jazzier music suits Spidey best.

  • Actually, if you really think about it, Peter Parker is a school nerd. That's how he was before and after he became Spider-Man. He doesn't let anyone know that he's living a double life. As for the scrawny look, remember, Stan Lee made Spider-Man a kid because he hated teens in comic books. They were always made as sidekicks, and not the main hero.

  • One of the biggest misconceptions about Peter Parker is that he was a nerd character. Peter Parker was a nerd for about maybe 2 years into the original run of the comic. Then he actually became what he was for most of the 60s-80s which was an Everyman that was not a nerd just a person living life as superhero.

  • It's Michael Pataki from Rocky IV (1985) .... Nicoli Koloff aka:(Comrade Bigmouth)

  • Good catch, (Captain Barbera)

  • The alternative being dangling motionless from a helicopter or performing amazing 4ft leaps along rooftops? You should give the films more credit.

  • The helicopter was part of the plotline. The alternative to CGI would be to use -Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon- wire and hook techniques which I felt wouild have worked wonderfully. The web swinging scenes would have been fantastic.

  • Actually info by the author of this page is incorrect. This is the first opening of Spider-Man 77 series. The other opening theme (with Ellen Bry in the credits) is the 2nd opening.

  • Thanks much! I was in High School when this debuted and I thought my mind might have been playing tricks on me. I MUCH preferred this theme music to the other season's. Thanks for resolving the conflict in my memory. :)

  • i like night of the clones the ending has a very comic book moment in it to

  • I Can't get enough of this theme song!!!!This song

is tight!!I know it's the late 70's,but at least they

    tried their best though.

  • the music was great in everyway

  • im with you on that they need real life spider-man

  • best spider-man ever!!!!

  • NICE!Thanks for posting this intro.
