DRM Removal - Kindle or Kobo, to iBooks, Stanza or other e-readers

I bought mine from kobo and I tried to remove and it failed for some reason.

Trying to get this from my Kindle app account to my iBooks app. Got this error:

K4MobiDeDrm v3.9

Error: invalid literal for int() with base 10: '5.synthetic.synthetic'

DRM Removal Failed.

Any ideas?

I bought a Kobo book and follow your methods however, it returns an error "xxx.epub is not an ePub file"

Any ideas how to get around that?

I got this, Have to download Calibre and install all its plugin. Then import the ebook file from Adobe Digital Edition folder into Calibre. Then Calibre will generate another epub file under the Calibre Library folder. That epub is the good copy to import into iBook.

Have you found a way to remove the DRM from Nook Study PDF documents? I've been trying to use python scripts but I must be doing something wrong and its annoying me to no end.

I haven't read through the comments yet, but I'll mention where the AZW files are on a mac. Go to your home folder/library/application support/kindle/my kindle content.

Easy peasy right? Groans.

@NathanSifu I guess Zed's better than Zard, Uzzard, Izzard or Ezod. (uk regional pronunciations)...and it's closed to the actual greek the word came from. New-worlders changed the pronunciation to zee as a way to break ties with the old world.

@parakaleim you seem to be having a similar issue as MoppHead12, thats really strange, try doing a search for the word "kindle" to get the system to locate all relavant folders and files related to it. Still, if people keep having this issue I might have to put something in the description.

@MoppHead12 not able to locate "my kindle content?" hmmm... Try doing a search on your computer (not a manual search but using your operating systems search) for just the word "kindle" and you may find all relevant files related to it. As far as putting kindle onto kobo and vise-versa, once you decrypt the file, you can use calibre to convert it to whatever format you need for your devices. Not sure about the specifics o putting it on an actual kindle because I only have it for iPhone.

Okay so I have two problems (that I know of :P) with this. One I can't find My Kindle Content in my documents and I do have the kindle app with a few books on it. Also, my second problem is that I was wondering if the decryption for the kobo works if I want to transfer them to the kindle. I have the app for Kobo and the actual Kindle device but I want a few books on kobo that I can't get on kindle.

@elopez228 unfortunately I've got nothing on iBooks. Any decrypting you can't do is best handled by trying to download a pirated copy of the book. But I only do that if I have a legitimate copy because stealing is wrong.

thanks so much dude.. i have bought an ebook from Google books and would not work with iBooks and i was getting so annoyed..

Calibre alone was able to convert the file into a file recognizable by iBooks and now i'm reading on my iPhone.

Like you said pirating ain't good but neither is making us read something on an ereader that we don't like. Thanks again.
