In the UK, they are only used in situations where the offender is showing serious violence, we've only ever had one taser death, and that was because the guy had cooked his heart through steroid abuse. The UK will never ban tasers, they save so many lives. But in the case of US police, they use them because they're lazy rather than they need to use them.

I got shot by a tazer and I pulled them out, I was gettting up too until another officer came in and tackled me. I was actually standing a good couple of seconds before my legs buckled. I was only on the ground a couple of seconds before I ripped them out. And I wasn't even drunk, they took me to get my blood tested because they never breathalized me beforhand, which is really why the whole incident occurred. Blood test came back about a .04%. No respect for police like that.

The only deaths that a taser has been linked to is when then person is high on some drugs and the taser messes with the drugs and usually they die a few days later the other deaths is were people have fallen down usually over an over pass but there has not been a case to my knowledge were someone who was healthy got tased and died from it

@usmcgunner58 if you look at the voltage it sounds like a lot but if you look at the jolts its not to bad a 50,000 volt taser is only 1.2 jolts and when you shoot it you loose joltage and it drops to about .7 jolts so using that you can determine how strong a stun gun is also to people who might fear about causing the heart to stop it wont happen a AED uses 250-300 jolts and that is used to restart you heart. These from taser.com have even been tested on pace makers

@mirceamikel83 Yes, in fact most states you don't even have to have a license to carry a taser the only down fall is they are really expensive the cheapest one is about $399 and the one most police are going to is the Taser X26 which is $999.99 with out adding a camera to it I do highly recommend you buy a spy pen or something to film the tasing in case someone tries to sue you.
