  • i wore all black today other then my shoes and under shirt .. my hair band and clip were even black .. i wear all black on days when i want people to leave me the hell alone because they are affraid of the colour and think your dark when wearing it then if you wear it alot the start to sterotype .. my parents frankly dont care what i wear unless i look like a complete slut/hoe in it but they get made if i want to have a different hair colour or style

  • thank you greg...for sharing your thoughts on youtube. i think i learn more from you than i do in school because everything you say is interesting, so its easier to remember. i learn more and/or better morals from you than i ever do in church. i will be alot like you when i grow up :)

please thumbs up and repost to his newer videos if you agree ^_^

  • My high school discriminated against the goths who kept themselves fully clothed and let the preppy skanks walk the halls with their asscheeks hanging out.

  • its actually ridiculous how many people either like or hate black. i like to wear black coupled with a bright green, purple or red tshirt and silver jewellery and at school some random douchebag just started screaming and making cutting motions. then my friends and i just looked at him and he just went really awkward. one of the best days ever :D

  • What the fuck? What kind of parent would want their child wear 30 different colors and look like a goddamned fruit bowl?!

  • i used to be goth and my mom would always say if i wore all black EVERY day then she would take the black clothes. she thought that people would think i am boring or too sad. like i gave a fuck?!?

  • fuck my dad. thats all i can say... hes a christian (yep again with this fucking religion thing) he wants me to wear all this nice shit -__- im a fucking goth and yes i look like an emo... so yeah... blah blah blah.. i look like im going to kill someone... i feel comfortable with the way i look, i feel more me... sometimes i do go overboard with these pants i had with chains and pockets all over them, they looked sick but yeah.. -_- i dunno... we should all be free in the way we want to look.

  • i used to be forbidden (my mother's choice of word) to wear black.

my brother was allowed, yet she burned every black item of clothing i owned.

three months ago i burned everything pink in my wardrobe (how i loathe the colour) on my front lawn, bought as many black items of clothing as i could with the money left from my birthday, and showed my mother this video.

without the fire, it was my best decision ever.

  • just wear the most awkwardly bright colors you can, thats what i did

  • ...subject and a few months later I asked if I could get my septum pierced. She said no and gave me the same bullshit reasons. So I pierced my septum, and hid it from her.She still doesn't know,so if she finds out,she wont have any bullshit to feed off of.I know that most people wont care about my story.I know that piercing my septum myself is stupid, I understood the risks when I did it.By posting these comments I'm letting out my anger. If you have a problem with that ,keep it to yourself, idgaf.

  • ...but I ignored her and let myself get darker. I asked her if I could get a lip piercing, she said no. I don't mind that she didn't let me, but it's the reason that pisses me off. She said I couldn't because it isn't ladylike, and I wont be able to get a job with a piece of metal through my lip and that it makes me look inapproachable. So I said I can awalys take it out and let it heal. She said that I will have a big scar on my whole face, and it'll never go away if I do that. I dropped the...

  • ...and let the world see you as an individual. I dressed in skinny jeans and black tshirts from then on, I started straightening my hair and listening to the music I actually loved. I took the advice my parents kept trying to drill into my head and ran with it, simply by presenting myself in a way I was comfortable with. But when my parents saw that I was becoming goth/emo in style, they tried to stop me. My mom said I shouldn't join the dark side, because there was another way of life...

  • I used to care about what people thought about me, so I dressed in really bright preppy clothes and listened to popular music.I was somewhat unhappy about that, so when I started middle school last year, I decided to go for a slightly darker look, kept my preppy stuff, I still wasn't happy with myself but ignored it.Then I discovered Black Veil Brides through Quizazz a week later.Their music taught me to be myself, their message to ignore negativity and just be happy with yourself as you are...

  • waaahhh i hate myself, waahhh i want to listen to screamo music and complain/self loathe, waahh i want to wear black so everyone sees how sad i am and feels sorry for me, wahhh i want to cut myself and waste blood that could have been donated to people who need it, waaaahhhhh my boyfriend/girlfriend broke up with me and I’m ignoring the fact i was lucky enough to find love in the first place, waahhh I’m gonna over eat to punish myself when there’s people out there starving to death

  • 2of2:

I am very happy that I had parents so open minded about these kind of things.

Wearing skinny jeans, long hair, and still my parents were very proud of me, telling there friends and co-workers about my accomplishments and how they were proud of their son.

And I just hope someday parents will also be this opened minded as mine, and many other parents are.

    Thank you Greg.

  • 1of2:

    I'm 19 now,

& looking back thinking about this...my parents never had any objection of how I dressed, or what I listened to, or anything really.

I was fortunate enough to have parents who really believed in self-expression, and being who I wanted to be.

I remember on my fifteenth birthday, my father told me "Kev, if you ever want tattoos, or piercings, or anything of that sort, you can always ask me or your mother. We want you to be you. We will always support the choices you make in life"

  • I have the best parents in the world in my opinion, they let me wear anything i like no matter what. I wear black but have some form of color. I wear baggy clothing to slim fit clothing and listen to hip hop to heavy metal! Now that's individuality.

  • Onision! You're my boy!!!

  • my parents hate it but most of my clothing is black

  • I can imagine this guy on an Excedrine commercial

  • ... my mom freaked out because she saw me wearing black nailpolish. And now I'm grounded... because wore black nailpolish.

  • @MysteriousBrownEyes1 That sucks... But she can`t ground you forever... Just try to talk to her. Ok, that`s a completely useless comment, I didn` write anything helpful.

  • @tineeeable Ha, thanks. ^ ^

  • @MysteriousBrownEyes1 umm...are you a guy?

  • @utuber2500 No.

  • i feel like im almost like my older brother, we like the same metal bands dress the sameish way , like one time my bro wore my skinny jeans but couldnt tell XD( no joke ) , im in jr high ad i pretty much look like him when he was in jr high ( hes in high school )

my parents dont really care about the way i dress or look because they cant choose the way there kids think or feel

so why restrict them of being who they are?

  • ugh, my parents are like that, but i put up with it and wear clothes that are still my style but, ... less black, or i dont wear black as often ^_^

  • Lol. My mom is such a hypocrite. She always talks about letting kids be who they are, but as soon as I dye my hair/paint my nails/wear black,...

  • I wanna touch on a topic that means a lot to me it would be nice if you talked about it sometime. my husband paints cars and I am a stay at home mom, so we can look any way we want. we both were wearing black and makeup and put color in our hair long before most of you were born. I have a pretty nice lookin emo daughter. the kids accept us. the other parents think were immature and never grew up. this could not be farther from the truth. we are a good wholesome family. What do you think?

  • @terrbear903 i think you have the coolest looking family ever!!1

  • @terrbear903 ah i wish i had your family :) and its cool how even though your get older you still stay and look the same, thats going to be like me

  • well my school uniform is black and boring

  • My mom dosen't make me wear something I don't want to wear, but sometimes she dosen't let me wear something I want to wear. No, it's not slutty by far.Black jeans, black boots,a belt with studs on,leather jackets, red hair, eyeliner. She dosen't quite accept that. She use to point out that I have a lot of eyeliner, she dosen't let me buy the clothes I like.it hurts. I feel unaccepted. It's OK that my class point it out,but not when mom do it.We've always been close but I'm not what she wanted me to be.

  • @qweds34mj i use to bethe same (i started geting in to a differant style that they still feel the same about) o i know were your coming from just know your not alone ^^

  • THANK YOU ONI!!! Maybe if i show this to my mom she will finally understand why i wear black!!!

  • What my parents have expected of me: Alot of crazy changes. Random things. Things i had to talk through with them. They're not too big on piercings or hair dye but they don't mind dark clothes and rock and metal since they themselves like a little bit of what I do. It's just a bit aggrivating when they pick on the fact that I dress up in corpse paint sometimes.

And yes I am an adult now. I was just talking about the rules back in the day.

  • BTW...I'm 41, sexy, and am ALWAYS keeping up w/the latest fashions & styles. Fav stores? Claire's, Hot Topics, Victoria's Secret, Old Navy, & Abercrombie & Fitch. And, NO...I'm NOT, or ever been, a stripper! I'm way too classy, and have better self-esteem about myself, for that!

  • Thank GOD I was NEVER a parent like THAT! My sons would vouch on that! In fact, I have 2 sets of wardrobes...one is my "really girly" clothes..u kno..pink, lacey, ruffles, short skirts/tops, etc. Then the other one my sons call my EMO clothing bcuz it's just "that"...it's all black & the stuff that skaterz wear.

SOOOO, Onision, what's your opinion when parents wear the same as their kids? AND the clothes DO look gr8 on their parents? Not like a huge, fugly person w/no IQ in fashion trends.

  • Thanks so much for making this video!!!!

  • Mom and her boyfriend keep wanting me to wear clothes that 'fit me better'. Well, I'm sorry if my baggy clothes get to you.... well, no, I'm not, not really. But I'm not allowed to post my poems, because they're to 'deep', I'm supposed to wear makeup all the time. I hate tight clothes, and I hate makeup. But I love making and sharing my poems. Seems like they're never happy with me...

  • I have this exact same problem. I am not allowed to wear black or black eyeliner

  • this video is so true keep it up greg

  • Greg would be the best dad ever!!! Have kids Greg :)

  • Do you have kids Greg? :)

  • i wear black clothes every time i walk down the hall someone either attempts to trip me or they scream EMO! at me one time it escalated into a fight guess who got blamed for starting it

  • @Emo80097 if umm cocain is so bad,why do people make it? IT MUST BE AWESOME

    logic

    yep

  • Thank you so much for uploading this. This literally almost makes me want to cry because I have always struggled with my family viewing me as a "Bad kid" or "Emo" or "Goth". Its just a color that I like to wear. Im not trying to be any of those things. Im actually a good kid. I just feel pressured to be what they want me to be and not myself. Many times I've considered changing myself for them. That wasnt easy. Now I dont care what they think. Im going to do what makes me happy.

  • @NicholasJonas4Eva16 never change who you are for anyone if they don't like you for you screw them they don't deserve to like and or get to know the real you

  • @freakshowwholuvsMCR thank you so much :) That made my day

  • @NicholasJonas4Eva16 your welcome :)

  • i use black almost everyday when i don't have to use an uniform. and my mum didn't like it at first but she get used to it. now she says white doesn't look good on me. now she understands me! i am too pale and white makes me look red ._.

  • Really love this video!" I am what they call goth/hardcore emo, I use corpse paint, I use chains, i have 6 piercings, big black coats, use band T- Shirts, big leather boots, And pants with alots of chains!" In the beginning i was really embarrassed!" But then i just didnt give a crap what they other thought about me, My parents hated my style and stopped talking to me, I got really depressed by this and stop being goth, But then my dad told me that he was sorry and he wants me to be happy!"

  • My parents call me a wannabe goth just because I want to wear a lot of black. Its not because I'm trying to be goth I just happen to like the color black and its a color that happens to look good on me. Its not like I don't wear other colors its just they only see all the black I wear.

  • @FlameLover1003 people see the worst each other ... and ignore the good but as long as you like yourself who cares your happy with who you are :)

  • im the "emo" kid because of how i dress (my dad and my "friends") it hurts me because it was people who liked me when i hated myself i hated everything about me to please them and i get laughed at get my books knocked out of my hand but its ok beacuse in thier eyes im diffrent in mine ... im perfect and thats how i intend to look at it no matter what :)

  • My dad has said to me "You embarrass me" just because I don't look like the "other" kids. I hate not getting accepted and not being myself. It's not right at all. Be who you are no matter what. Your parents should be happy that your happy even if your driffrent or not. Be who you are and be happy about it. Be real.

  • Thank u ...<3

  • Mother always said "dont wear black because i dont want that goth shit in my house" now her job she has to wear all black and when i confront her about it she always denies saying she wants me to wear white

  • Parents always say "Be a leader not a follower" Well, let us! Let us dress how we want and look how we want! Let us be different!

  • @goldenlover109 what, from the millions of goth kids who all dress...exactly...the...same.

    Yeah individualism.

  • @theangrysmurf12 true alot of ppl follow movements lik goth and emo and punk so they all look pretty much the same... but its THEIR choice. thats what this video is about. is allowing kids to dress the way they want to dress. not how adults/parents want them to. they are expressing themselves though their clothing. if its easier to do that through goth/emo/punk style then thats how it is. its still individualism in a way because they are being true to how they are inside.

  • @jRockLover333 individualism is being true to who u are inside and true to how unique u are, and thats wat these kids are doing. thats wat we ALL should do. js

  • my parents expectation are: super skinny filipina scholar who is really girly and listens to selena gomez and justin biebs and wear shorts and toms and all that crap

me: filipina girl who listens to alot of rock and occasionally kpop who wants to dye her hair colors and get peircings and wants to wear skinnys and a hoodie

    OPPISITE

  • @goshygosh1 don't forget "and is obese"

  • @goshygosh1

No offence but your parent's expectations make me sick.

  • @goshygosh1 we'd be best friends

  • @goshygosh1

    Work on your spelling first!

  • @brightlights456X Excuse me but my spelling is correct, I did not use punctuation because I am on my phone and can't really use it.

  • @goshygosh1

lol, you're too cute. All is forgiven :P

  • @goshygosh1 Um, hi. All that crap? See, you don't even know what you're talking about honey. Your parents think kpop and rock is crap and you like it, yet you bash justin bieber and toms ? Have you ever considered the fact that some of the things in both categories can be good?

  • @vabeach94 Well, take a look at who has the most supporters, her or you.

  • @BenAdams98 Okay? Doesn't make her right. It's okay though, you're 4 years younger than me. And I've been on other videos where there's been 300 thumbs up on rascist comments. Guess they'd be right too, since they have that many supporters.

  • @vabeach94 Im sorry it was just my opinion:)

  • @goshygosh1 PREACH!!!!!

  • STORY OF MY LIFE! I can't cut my hair how I want, style it how I want, wear what I want, I can't even get a freaking cartilage piercing because it looks "dumb" INDIVIDUALITY MOM!

  • @goldenlover109 Same with me, if my parents would let me do what I wanted to I would do anything they asked. But if they treat me like shit, like they do now, they're gonna have a pissed off, angry teenage gay boy in their house.

  • thank you!! finally! im 14, and my mom is trying to get me to wear EXTREMELY frilly things. i'll wear cute shirts and stuff but she trys to force me to wear lace and ruffles. from the frigging women's section. and my dad does not let me wear short shorts. im not talking booty shorts im taking bout shorts at the edge of my palm. i swear sometimes there annoying........

  • I love wearing black! It really is a power color. I feel good when i'm in it. My mom calls me goth. Others call me emo. I'm none of those. My mom doesn't let me wear all black all the time. I go to the mall and get say 3 black shirts and one purple, she says "too much black" But it's my choice! My bro also likes wearing black a lot and she doesn't let him either!

  • I try to wear all black, but of course my mom isn't so accepting of this. She teases me and calls me "goth girl". I wish she would let me be me. :(

  • I have a question... I like wearing black but my dad won't let me because he thinks I'm "worshiping the Devil". And OF COURSE I'M NOT!!! How do I convince him otherwise? Also my mom wants me to die my hair because I have white hair already...

  • @TheDennyMojo DUDE. My grandma is like that alllllllllllll the time. Don't change who you are for someone else :) I like wearing black too btw :D

  • I DRESS LIKE THIS TO BE A NINJA

  • I feel very fortunate to be able to say I have a very understanding and considerate mom who lets me wear whatever I want. I use to be goth to the extreme. I would go to school in tripp skirts, fishnets, and combat boots. And she was okay with that. I am 15 and I have a total of 7 piercings. And my mom is okay with that. I feel very lucky to have a mother who lets me be who I wanna be.

  • i showed this to my parents. it as like a light was switched on and they said sorry and walked off.

  • lol i just wore an all black outfit black shirt jeans and shoes. i do not like brighter colors i like black dark blue and dark purple my mom says im wierd nothing more because i am a kid and she wants me to be one take a note parents let ur kids be kids because they only got it for 18 yrs

  • Mah parents let me wear anything as long as it isn't man whorish, now if its a female that wants to wear fish nets and slutty clothing, then yeah, I can understand how the parents would want to control that, but if it isnt sluttish then i dont know why there would be a problem.

  • AMEN! My mom controls how I wear my make up and I ALWAYS feel like she isn't allowing me to be myself. It ticks me off. She said, and I quote,"I don't want to raise another emo kid." >.>

  • My gramma yells at me for wearing all black or primarily black cloths. She used to make me wear pink stuff to skool. So i put extra cloths in my back pack and changed in the skool bathroom. Same with my peircings to.

  • I wanted to wear stuff like that in middle school, but I wasn`t allowed! I am very thankful now... These kinds are nery and get bullied and have ABSOULUTELY no style! I learnt to dress in a propper way, have friends and love fashion, so thanx, mom!

  • I both agree with you and dissagree. I am assuming you are not a parent, but in truth there is no perfect way for one to raise a child. Views, ideals all differ. A child does need direction which means rules he or she may not like - but such is life. Thats the lessons parents OWE their children. Life is not fair, and not all our choices are accepted. By the way - I allowed my daughter to wear black clothes in spite of questions raised at her school. I still had rules and lines drawn in the sand.

  • @ImTheDaveman nah man it does not matter how you look PERIOID. clothes are nothing. they could be doing alot worse things then expressing themselfes in a way YOU do not understand. my good sir.

  • i lov e black and my parents hate it but i hace to wear uniforms and im wearing white and black and that all

  • after my mom watched this vid she no longer bother me about clothes thank you onision :)

  • thx

  • Hey onision! Your great! <3

  • you are so awesome i love how deep you are onision thanks for your words

  • For almost 3 years, I'm punk rocker. Band shirts, ripped jeans, jacket with studs, mohawk... And my mom was like "You look like troll". She said that like ten times and then I freaked out. I mean, a person who shows her tits and has 40 years old will NOT tell me how to look.

  • My parents were cool as far as that went. I got to make my own mistakes.

They let me wear all black to school.

  • My parents are surprised if I don't want to wear black (oh the joys of leaving the 'metalhead all black' phase)

  • im wearing all black right now :P

  • In almost every single one of his video stills, Greg is pulling that awkward smirk.

  • I LOVE THIS!!! :D

  • my mum is kinda suportive to the way i dress, cuz, she dress the same way, but my dad he would kill me if he saw me again, and he have told me that, i dont get it, why would he wanna kill me cuz i wear black? i could do that just fine on my own, n i dont need his help to die :s

  • my parents are like that and im emo and they are trying to not let me wear black and my mom will not let me go tohot topic or spencers bcause she does not like it pleasssseeeehelp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she does not know shes leading me towards suicide!!!!!!!!!!!1:(

  • @bmobmobmo1 suiside for real?

  • @bmobmobmo1 my mom was like that alot of my friends perants are too just it depends on the parent they may realize you want to be yourself /:

  • @bmobmobmo1 hot topic is so fucking gay it sucks cause there the only store that sells good shirts like RATM and rise against a7x and disturbed then they have fuckin emo shit on the shelf next to them

  • I really think this closed-minded perspective is specific to most "older" parents at this point. most of us realize that a persons attire or style is not indicative of their decency or capabilities. I am the parent of a 14 yr old & would care less if she only wore black. or dyed her hair green. or got tattoos etc because I take her the way she is. I just want to be able to see that she is happy & be able to hold her & tell her I love her.

  • @sarahjf2007 You give me hope that there are reasonable parents out there. It's nice to see someone that won't immediately disown their kids if they dye their hair an unnatural color or get tattoos/piercings. Because under all that, it's still the same person. A lot of people don't realize that.

I do however, understand not letting a child get a piercing/tattoo when they're younger because those kinds of things are permanent. Making them wait until they're an adult is probably for the best.

  • @tenorsaxxftw of course I encourage her to wait until she's an adult regarding all decisions that will be permanent- the point I was making is that if she did end up coming home with a piercing or tattoo etc earlier I wouldnt turn on her like a lot of parents do; their need to save face socially being greater than their love for their child.

  • thank you for vdo and i appreciated you i'm glade if you come ...i will love you if you tlaking about how much you love your family... if you introduce your self ...i you trat dog if you have many friend if youn prove your self to god the you r not the racist emo ppl...from pop

  • thank you for vdo and i appreciated you i'm glade if you come ...

  • I feel the same way. I have to buy my own clothes, and for them to tell me what I have to buy with my own money is ridiculous. They don't like that I dress "dark" and want me to dress in bright colors. But then again, it's my personal opinion. Other people may disagree, but that's how life is. Not everyone agrees for the same thing.

  • haha my parents agreed since i wash a stupid nerd for quite some time and then they were like thank god shell have friends now XD though now they want me with preps though every prep i know does drugs.. :/

  • i will finish it here lol when i go to my dads i confront abuse by my brother :( and thats all plz respond!!

  • you are just like my mom,she lets me have the hair style i want when my step mom makes me do it the way she wants it,my mom lets me pick out the cloths i want to wear and my step mom treats me like im 5 and picks out my cloths and im twice that age!!im not a kid im almost a teenager!!and yet when i go to my dads house (my parents are divorced :'( i have a sad childhood yet i am very colorfull) i may have more to say but i am running out of room, please respond onision

  • I'm not going to give an opinion on this video...but I will say this...Did you ever stop to Realize the Parents are BUYING AND PAYING for the Clothes?! Hahahah wow. You obviously have as much financial responsibilities as you do a grasp on Reality...

  • This is sad. Parents really do that?! That's crazy. My goodness. I'm goth, and I frickin' love black and red. My mom agrees that parents shoudn't do that. She also agrees that black is power color, which I do too. Black is awesome. My dad deosn't like black as much as other colors, but he doesn't make me wear brighter colors. I choose to, but only if I want to, that is. Black also (in my opinion) makes me look thin, I don't know why but it does. That's from my mom side of view too. :)

  • You look like something gay from Twilight

  • ALL kids grow out of that all black stage. Just let them do it, who gives a shit.

  • All you kids aout there saying how your parents dont like you wearing black, stop complaining. Your parents DO understand you, they were your age once too. They honestly do want whats best for you, thats why they are in your lives. There are a ton of kids out there whose parents abandon them, give them up for adoption, ignore them, etc. So if your parent is concerned with something as little as what you wear, it shows that they notice you and care for you.

  • @Mcpanicfanic o_O Trust me, parents almost NEVER understand their kids, the lifestyle they've had and the lifestyle they're having are two COMPLETELY different things.

  • @Mcpanicfanic Pedophiles are in kid's lives too. Let's let them have a say? Your a moron. 'It shows they notice and care' Nigga please. You are breeding some bubble boy bitches.

  • @BFSSN I never said anything about pedophiles.... I was talking about CARING parents.

  • @Mcpanicfanic If they 'Cared' they'd give their children the choice to be individuals. Not make them abide by silly rules. They must learn via doing, you can't hide them from mistakes and experience. My nigga.

  • @BFSSN Clearly we have a difference of opinion. That is all.

  • i wear black and chains and all that... and my mom hates it. it destroys me when she wants me to be someone im not. im not happy wearing bright clothes like she wants... i wear black clothes anyways. not to be a brat but because i need people to understand that i have the right to be myself. i dont know if this makes sense but its how i feel... great video (:

  • I'm emo and my parents don't allow me to show it. My grandparents think that emos worship the devil so I think that not letting kids follow the laws of free speech is Bullcrap.

  • @feelinsoflylikeaGB do u happen to live in a small southern redneck town ?

  • this is so my parents they dont like me wearing black... but i do... and they cant and wont stop what i do.

  • I just hate it because my grandmother always goes out to buy my clothes, and I end up getting clothes that I hate, because wearing black isn't what she wants me to look like. Once I also wore a Flyleaf shirt over to their house, and they laughed about it. -_______-

  • -1 go ONISION

-2 my mums awesome she lets me wear black

  • i rlly need 2 show ths vid 2 my mom......done

  • My parents hate black but I love it...So I wear only black and dye my hair black (which will soon be red and black) just too piss them off (and cause I want to)

  • I do wear black and have long hair. My parents accept that and don't have any problems with it. The only thing is that other kids at school say that I look more feminine with my long hair. But, I'm much larger and, again, I wear black so I'm quite intimidating so I'm rarely confronted about it. But, they just think they're somehow better than people like me because they're the social norm.

  • i think the reason parents do it is because they are WORRIED about their kids. their worried that their kid will made fun of, or that their kid is wearing black because they're depressed, and the parents don't know what to do.

  • All the family members on my mom's side is forcing me to wear colours on my clothes, and keeps saying that me wearing black is just a "phase", even though this "phase" has been going on for MANY years now!! I rarely see my mom and her side of the family, but when i do all they talk about is changing me. My grandmother actually said that she going to colour my hair blond! But I will never give up, and just continue to be myself!

  • my grandma and some family members always buy me clothes that are very colorful after i told them hey i dont like those clothes but i mean what do they know they were born in the 50s 60s and 70s times change and yes i wear black clothes and listen to dark music but they say they are only looking out for my safety after i told them im not emo so they should just shut their faces and let us LIVE

  • My mom never tells me what to wear. As long as it's not slutty. She doesn't care how I do my hair, as long as it's not like gang related or something. She doesn't care what music I listen to, as long as she can't hear it xD. But anyway, I don't think parents should tell their kids who to be, and how to act.

  • I don't believe wearing black means you're emo at all, unless you actually act like one. I always wear black but my t-shirts consist of different colours, JUST for my parents.

  • Black is awesome, because even if you put it in an outfit with a different color, it looks good with it no matter what color it is, so you won't look like a color blind freak.

  • black is slimminggg

  • Thumbs up if you agree with Onision, and let us show this video to every parent whose kid is wearing black.

  • Since Im into goth as lond as I remember, I always wore black. Black is my signature color, and everything I draw, everything I wear, every song and every poem that I write is connected to black and to darkness. But, my whole family is against it, and they think Im the strangest family memberthey ever knew. I say, let us wear what we want, and be ourselves, not something that others want us to be.

  • Actually, I think this guy is right. I always present myself for how others want to see me...I know it's shameful but I know if I don't do it I'll lose all my friends and get picked on and all that crap...

  • I'm in both of those situations. My mom is accepting, and understanding, but my dad is always telling me to stop wearing black all the time and to cut my hair. I personally like to straighten my hair, and I'm a guy. He finds it "gay" that I straighten it, and can't get it threw his head that you don't have to be gay to straighten it. Family is coming in on the 28th of this month, and he's told me to cut my hair because he doesn't want them to see me like this. I'm not cutting it.

  • i wish you were there when i was trying to explain this to my moms bf. just because i like wearing black he threatened to kick me out for wearing a color i like. because it didn't fit his image of what he wants me to be. but i still wear black i feel like myself when i wear it. and he no longer lives with us yaaay! srry for the wicked late comment. oops

  • my mom hates my personality and grounded me cos of it :I

she says as soon as i can change and discover who i really am, im not grounded

but its impossible, you know :(

  • @ramenwolf52 My parents don't mind. In their mind it's 'let them do what they wish as long as it isn't harmful to myself or anyone else.'

Because of this I'm not a rebel, but simply dressing the way I adore.

Even my father who is proud of me for my cherished love in arts of all kinds, adores my taste in modest and reformed, yet 80's gothic style.

The kid can only rebel if they have something to rebel against!

There is no harm in wearing what one pleases. (As long as it isn't uncouthful)

  • @UponWhiteWings fuck if i know.i just often see u comment.

dont know what you got against me though.

but i guess we just happen to watch the same videos.

  • @UponWhiteWings WELL..your lucky!

  • @ramenwolf52 isn't free speech in the law of most countries??? if it is, she is not legally allowed to do that!

  • @KrabbendeKUTKAT i know!!

    she still does it tho

and if i told her she would say like

    idgaf you live here

  • @ramenwolf52 i dunno about U.S. but in holland thats illegal too

  • My mom is practically a dictator. She tells me to wear pink and buys me pink things and wonders why I don't wear it. (I'm a chik)

  • @EMOxxRULES sh0w her this video0o000

  • All my life I wore bright colors and felt like something was wrong. Now at 14 I started to wear black and totally felt like myself, I have found my style. My parents don't like it but surprisingly don't care cuz they're glad I don't dress in strippy clothes. xD

  • black isnt a colour. its an abcence of colour

  • my parents dont care what i wear as long as i dont look like a prostitute

  • My parents don't mind my style choices and rather embrace my decisions on what I wear.

  • @UponWhiteWings that's good xD

  • @gotthkid2 Why does it seem I see you everywhere on youtube? That sort of frightens me.

  • @UponWhiteWings because he's stalking you

  • Parents who make their children wear a certain color, and get upset when they wear a color are simply dictators.

  • 49 selfish adults disliked this video.

    Cruel douches.

  • i have black shirts but im not emo or anything i feel pretty comfortable in black though

  • I love this, very much.

  • amen <3

  • same thing here with long sleeves. ive been wearing sweatshirts for so long, especially dark-colored ones, itd be weird for me not to. but the guidance counselor and other people have gotten on my case for the long sleeves and i dont understand why, im not braking any rules or anything. they say they are 'concerned.' but im not emo or anything! i dont know what to think...

  • As if anyone would take this idiots advice.

  • I'm a black girl, and I wear black all the time and at first my parents tried to make me stop. They still tell me to wear colors. People used to ask me a lot if I cut myself, if I was "emo". And people think I'm a witch, but who cares? Like when someone asks me, "Why do you wear all black?", it's the same reason you wear what you want to wear-BECAUSE I WANT TO. PERIOD. No one should have to explain why they wear something. 8) Thanks Onision.

  • @Byakuyalovelornsoul Trust me, being called a witch is totally cool :D I am one

  • @TiredOfCaring That's awesome. 8) I don't have a problem with being called a witch, I just don't like it when people stereotype me or someone else as a evil/or demonic person just because of the clothes they wear. Because witches aren't demonic. XD What type of witch are you? 8)

  • @Byakuyalovelornsoul WIccan witch :D LOL I work with mostly fairy, plant, crystal and animal Magic. I truely love it
