  • I'm lucky enough to work at a hospital, where I sterilize my equipment in our giant autoclaves.

  • Wish I would have watched this sooner and I would have joined you when you brewed. But seeing the popularity of HBW it takes me up to 3 days to see all the videos. Which by the way is fantastic!! Happy HBW to ya, Cheers

  • Hm, I think most carboys wouldn't have a problem taking the thin side of that funnel. If it came with a filter that fits inside the funnel, I would not use that. The mesh is way too fine and it always gets clogged in my experience. Cheers!

  • Procrastination = empty bottles Jake....... Get BREWING =]

  • I have the same big funnel. You can't use it without having someone hold it.

  • Just purchased some Star San for the first time and used to sanitize all my gear / bottles last week. While it seems fairly expensive, it's really not: considering the fact that you can reuse one OZ of it for at least a dozen brews! .. Just mix up an OZ in a gallon of water and you're good to go. Save as much as you can for repeat rinsings.

  • I prefer Iodaphor. Instead of a teaspoon per liter, iodaphor says to use a teaspoon per gallon and a half. Although iodaphor doesn't clean.

  • Look up the MSDS of Diversol. It's a sanitizing detergent. Bleach may sanitize, but it doesn't work like a detergent. Diversol will break down and loosen debris and sanitize at the same time. It's really good stuff. It needs to be rinsed really well though.

  • @Wayner665 Diversol is the pink stuff you have.

  • I think theres a big difference. Cause the cleaner u just bought, (I'm pretty sure) will suds up, thus making the cleaner stick to the substance ur trying to remove, causing that substance to break down. If you use bleach water, this will just shed off of the dirt in afect not break it down. Just my thoughts

  • I use the pink stuff.

  • Holy!! What a huge funel! :D

  • Put a bit of KY Jelly around the rim then the funnel would slide in.

  • @thegentlearts lol Sounds good,will do!

  • @jakeanddar

ewww - Just what I always wanted - a brew with subtle KY Jelly taste notes!

  • First 17 buddy 17
