So it would be actually better if she wouldn't make a slot. No slot = better protection for her eyes. Like I said before...she doesn't need her eyes, so why does she make a slot in the armor? To me it looks like they forgot for a second that Toph is actually blind. A slot only makes sense to me if she would need better visibility...

Yes it would go against the Avatar's wishes. But the world should not bend to what you would like to happen. What if Aang was forced to choose between the extermination of an entire country, or the death of one man?
It would have been a better ending BECAUSE it would go against what Aang wanted to do. Instead of a badly done Deus Ex Machina. The worst part is that if it might not work, Aang is essentially wrong even if he did succeed in taking away firebending from the firelord.
It's called Avatar: The Legend of Korra, and its scheduled for release in November 2011. It's actually planned to be a miniseries of only 12 episodes, so it's unfortunately not going to have the character depth of the original series, but who knows where it could lead!! Should be interesting as the lead character is a female waterbender who is learning airbending from Aang and Katara's airbending son!! I'm pretty excited :)
Toph is the BEST character. She is hilarious, has an awesome personality. Wish she was real and I could meet her. I liked Book 1 but I loved Book 2 and 3 all cuz of Toph. Even though the show has ended, we still have re-run episodes and The Last Airbender movies to rely on. Hopefully the movies will be as good as the show, even w/ changes.

"More episodes" could be a problem. Avatar is one of the few US cartoons with a real story.
Anything else would just be the usual "the characters travel around all the time but don't actually get anywhere" until the ratings drop.
Give the series a beginning, some character development and a proper ending instead of draining it forever until it dies or adding (usually) weak mini-stories after the ending because the pre-ending characters don't work very well in a post-ending environment.
@Syndur true but they could mabey do a season 4 air(because then the 4 elements seasons would be complete) and make it about how the world is buildibng itself up after the war and mabey how aang discoveres more airbenders and zuko fins his mom....there acctually are quite a few possibilities!!

Toph's my favorite charater too. I mean I am one of Toph's biggest fans. I know all of her lines and have trained myself how to do her special type of earthbending and working on a how to "TophBend" Vid for youtube. This was the only good animated series.
Talked about the elements, martial arts, FAMILY and honor.
Toph was such a great character being blind, being able to bend earth, being able to bend metal, and a little bit of bending sand.
She was also the funniest character.

@Syndur Now they're doing a sequel series, 70 years after the original. Yes, there's a new avatar, new problem, and it sounds fairly interesting.

@inneedofskull Yes, I'm pretty sure it's confirmed that they're gonna do this new series. It'll be interesting to see if they can pull it off as well as they did the original series. Here's hoping they can!

@Syndur If they wanted too, they could add new episodes focusing on the whole "Where is my mother" thing with Zuko.... maybe she aren't even dead? Maybe they need to find her? Maybe Azula rises again, and takes over everything (Oh dear god, let it happen! Azula is awesome) I see some epic fighting scenes in my head already!

@Syndur Well that depends; Superhero stories rarely have any real ending and that doesn't prevent them from being good. Yet I agree with you about the fact this wouldn't have work with Avatar.

I'm not saying that I do geophagy(practice of eating earthy matter) or anything, but I can remember what dirt and sand taste like. I lived in a place where the earth was mostly red clay and dirt and I also ate sand from sandboxes.

Toph's my favorite charater too. I mean I am one of Toph's biggest fans. I know all of her lines and have trained myself how to do her special type of earthbending and working on a how to "TophBend" Vid for youtube. I mean, Toph's charater is the best because she is so mysterious and ever one wants to kow more bout her. And the title of the song goes very well with her character, I mean"Rock this World" Its like she's earthbending her way to the top.
