I have the new 15 inch this is the best lap top not only does it look tough but everything looks amazing on the screen! and the games look and play amazing. you can also install Microsoft office for mac as well. every thing looks HD on this mac and i will never trade this computer not even for alienware

Again, what do you want to do with it? The mac is fine for browsing the net, watching videos, checking your mail. For heavy work or gaming, get the mbp.

Not sure whether to get the 15" 2.53GHz or 2.66GHz one, won't be using for gaming, just film and photo editing, along with general use. Shall I pay the extra £200?! Or its that unnecessary?!

Well I'm getting one for my birthday and I'm getting the 2.53GHz, because it's more than enough to play most games. And if you're not gaming, you won't really need the 2.66.

That refers to the clock rate of the CPU. 2.53 is good. The fact that the MacBook Pro CPU's are dual cores running with at least a 3mb L2 cache, and that their boards with 1066mhz DDR3 memory, is even better.

Windows is running ads comparing price between macs and pcs. The problem is that they're comparing apples and lemons (sorry for the pun). Once you configure a pc with identical hardware to the mac, the prices are very similar.

depends what you mean by hardware. Macbook pros running a comparable c2d cost a lot more than other notebooks with comparable specs. However, if you are comparing the manufacturing process/operating system, you might have a point.

If you compare spec for spec, that is one thing.  The problem that I have with the Windows ads is that they do not compare equal hardware and simply say, "We're less expensive." They stack the deck in their favor by implying, for example, that all RAM is equal and that all 17" screens are the same. They ignore clock rates on the one hand, and resolution on the other.

Macs are more expensive than PC's. The point can be made without dishonesty.
