I own a dive operation called Wanna Dive in Kona. We (the Kona dive operators) have found a location or two where the mantas feed at night. This particular dive is in about 32 feet of water. All of the dive operators go to the same spot and set up their divers and lights. Plankton is attracted to light like moths to a lightbulb, mantas feed on plankton and have figured out that light means food. They'll swoop over the lights to get at the plankton.
