@Adanosiam well actually it's used even in Manhattan ,but what i find it on wikipedia is this:Angostura bitters, often simply referred to as angostura, is a concentrated bitters made of water, 44.7% alcohol, gentian root, and vegetable flavoring extracts[1] by House of Angostura in Trinidad and Tobago. They are typically used for flavoring beverages, or (less often) food. The bitters were first produced in the town of Angostura (Ciudad Bolívar, Venezuela) (hence the name),

The bottle is easily recognisable by its distinctive over-sized label.
At work I make "bastard mules" with Absolut and ginger ale instead of ginger beer as ginger beer is hard to come by around my parts. I also don't shake with bitters, as the taste tends to stick to the shaker. I top with the bitters and give it a stir.
At home I like to use smirnoff export strenght vodka.
I've been working in a busy bar for two weeks. Whenever I get into busy operation, these clips got into my head and its so useful. Thanks Shaker. I truly do appreciate.

Never had it with cane syrup and personally I prefer a premium ginger beer like Fentiman's. Most places I've been to and asked for a Moscow Mule it comes without the Angostura bitters and when I ask for this they seem taken aback, as if I'm trying to reinvent the cocktail, though I much prefer it with with!
What's everyone's favorite vodka to make a Mule with?
I have a question. This Angostura bitters, how does it taste, and how does it change flavour of drink? Is it really bitter? Maybe it's logical, maybe not, Jägermeister is also a bitter liqueur but I don't find it bitter at all. Plus I don't see why would anyone like to have a bitter cocktail :D
@neotesanistriko bitters are fruits/fruit peels/nuts and spices/herbs infused in alcohol and/or glycerin... most famous of which are Angostura, Two Brothers Orange and Paychaud's bitters. they are concentrated with flavour and they act as seasoning to the cocktails... like salt in soup. it will of course be bitter if you drink the bottle. the idea is a dash that complements other ingredients of the cocktail
@neotesanistriko alot of people actually like better cocktails, like a gin and tonic is rlly bitter, also some mojito recipes calls for bitters in it to add a nice bitter taste to it, its all about preference :)
so it's like a lime flavored vodka with ginger ale
