All in all I love this album, I honestly listen to the whole album 3 times a week. The lyrics are amazing, all the songs strung together are a story. Love that shit!

@dolphin2ex there is nothing deathcore about these vocals. pig squeal would be the first big factor in sounding deathcore, and there is none. and all breakdowns are "djent" going by the definition of the word. Djent is a tone made by palm muting power chords.

@Imthoo You have just heard what can be classified as djent but are more then anything a progressive deathcore band. The intro takes elements of post-rock music while the breakdowns and vocals are derived from deathcore. The staccato and tight sound is the only thing that is djent.

@inthedesert69 Ehh... These guys are probably influenced by the Faceless. The Faceless was here first, and before them was their influences such as Necrophagist or Meshuggah. I'm not saying any are better then the other, but I can't say I agree in the slightest. The Faceless has become an icon among these type of bands, and I think that the band members in The Contortionist would be willing to say about the same.
