I'm so glad you made this! I've understood how people have struggled for this and know how important it is, but to see how wonderful a family you guys have and to be in the crowd with you made the verdict - now almost two years old - hit me hard. I will hopefully use this to show to those who don't understand the importance of gay marriage and what its effects are; not necessarily to change their mind, but to give them a glimpse of its impact. I though England allowed gay marriage but it is only Civil Partnerships :'(. I know it is good and progress it give us the same rights, but not the same equal status. When i get older if it is still civil I will join anything to get it to be marriage. Even if Judge Walker's decision is upheld, gays won't have full equal marriage rights unless DOMA is repealed or strucken down.

I feel real bad for the folks in this video and am totally in support of gay marriage, but blaming the court is really, really stupid. There was only one real issue before the court-- was Prop 8 a revision or amendment. That's it. Calling them "cowardly" and shouting "shame on you" just for not coming to the legal conclusion on this issue they would have liked (and probably on somewhat understand) is fuckin stupid.

I do agree that people who love eachother should be married, however, what is the difference between a hetero couple getting married and a gay couple entering into a union that has the same benefits without going through a marriage ceromony?

The word unnatural is being used incorrectly it implies that nature was never intended to go that way. I belive the correct term is anomaly, which states that it can be natural but does occur very much. On the idea of the "perfect family" or whatever it is.
What about single parents who raise children? Isn't this going against this "grand design"? Shouldn't these kids be taken away as well under that way of thinking that only a man and woman can raise children?

Just a small thought on the idea of "proper families". What about single mom's and dad's who never remarry and raise their children to adulthood. Are they to be shunned as well, their children taken and thrown into foster care?
I was raised by my mom and dad, but having 2 dads or 2 moms wouldn't bug me in the least, at least i'd have someone to call a parent... and that's all anyone really needs in a family; someone to prop them up until they can walk on their own two feet...

I feel real bad for the folks in this video and am totally in support of gay marriage, but blaming the court is really, really stupid. There was only one real issue before the court-- was Prop 8 a revision or amendment. That's it. Calling them "cowardly" and shouting "shame on you" just for not coming to the legal conclusion on this issue they would have liked (and probably on somewhat understand) is fuckin stupid.

Hey depfox, I finally came to a conclusion on my gay marriage stance.
I do agree that people who love eachother should be married, however, what is the difference between a hetero couple getting married and a gay couple entering into a union that has the same benefits without going through a marriage ceromony?
I actually do support gay marriage, but only if it does not cause a mass panic or damage to property when every other state does (eventually) allow gay marriage. How does that sound?

My church is ok with gay marriage and my priest married me and my partner. Why is it some churches get to tell other churches what to belive and who they can mary?

In Sweden we just introduced same sex marriage (we used to have a sort of civil union) - but the churches/priests can decide themselves whether they want to marry gay couples or not. I think it's a pretty nice compromise.
