Some have noticed that neither WWE nor TNA does any on-air tributes to wrestlers anymore when they die. The last one they mentioned was Steve ("Dr. Death") Williams. They didn't make any mention of Umaga, Test, Chris Kanyon, Steven Dunn (of the team "Well Dunn"), and so many others. It's almost as if WWE and TNA refuse to acknowledge those wrestlers' passing. My God, they can't even give them a five second mention during a program? Classless bastards.

Not sure of the motivation behind it, but WWE mentioned Jerry Lawler's mom dying. If she really died, using her death to help boost a PPV buy rate is pretty damn sick (they used her death to help promote the Michael Cole/Jerry Lawler match at Wrestlemania 27 last month).

@dcrediah No problem. I have seen ROH, and I agree that they should get a big TV deal. They were on cable/satellite TV a couple of years ago, but I don't remember which channel. ROH gave WWE and TNA some of their best talent (CM Punk, Samoa Joe, Kong/Kharma, Christopher Daniels, AJ Styles, etc). Cheers!

Because of where I lived at the time (Springfield MA/Hartford CT area), there was no outlet for me to watch ECW until they got their show on TNN, but once I started watching I almost never missed them. As a result I can only name about half of the people in that ring. In their peak period, ECW was amazing. I wish I'd been along for the whole ride.

In the late 90's for me it was WWE then WCW and way after those 2 in last place was ECW. The careers of stars like Steve Austin and Chris Jericho would have gone down the toilet if they would have stayed in ECW. The ECW fans never appreciated a good technical wrestling match. The fans in ECW only cared about seeing blood and barbed wire. Some of the wrestlers there were smart for leaving ECW. Those fans were disrespectful and pathetic. By the way, pretty much all of the former ECW guys have attested to loving have worked for Heyman. He was the consumate boss and gave the underdog the chance they strived for. Essentially he was the actual genius behind "attitude" in wrestling. The WWF pretty much stole that era from ECW.

I mean, he was arguably with the WWF/E the longest without any breaks as an announcer and is now full time with TNA.
