I hate Buffy and Spike relationship. I always thought Buffy and Angel were predestinaned and someday will be together forever and ever. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is Life.

-no way, angel was forced to have a soul- Spike on the other hand, fought for his soul so he could be with Buffy. Spike died for Buffy and Angel was killed by Buffy. Spike helped Buffy when he didn't even have a soul. Angel tried to destroy the world when he didn't have a soul. Spike is a better person.

I toltally agree with you but I'm talking about their physical relationship and not about the character himself. And Angel, ok, he DID do everything you said but he is not back Spike, because he always searched for forgiveness and redemption, helping people and saving the world. Even if Spike is a "better person", I still think that Buffy belongs to Angel and vice versa.
@pattinson789 - I don't think the chip changed spikes personality, just his ability to kill. And u can like whioever u want for Buffy-because I like the fact that Spike is not able to have her even though he loves her. It makes Spike an even more likable Character. There have been girls in my life that I would have done anything for who didn't feel the same way about me, so I can relate to him. And they usually have boyfriends I hate the way Spike hates Angel!
-Joss Whedon HIMSELF has said that Spike was trying to get his soul-but they were trying to make you think he was getting rid of the chip. He screamed when he got it because it hurt more than he thought it would-not because it was a suprise. Don't you remember his "getting the spark" "to be hers" speech for why he went to get his soul? And yes he attempted rape, but he was the first vamp in history to feel bad about it. that's what made him realize he had to get a soul.

everything? what about sacrificing his life to save the world? what about protecting dawn? what about killing that demon and throwing him into the portal to bring buffy back from the other dimension? what about giving buffy that speech that gave her the strength to go get the sythe from the vinyard? admit it without spike around buffy would've have been screwed. the world probably would have ended because of angel in the second season if spike hadn't been there.

if spike honestly thought the smurf would've ended the world he wouldn't have put it together-he just did it to anmuse Drusilla. And do you honestly think Angel and Buffy wouldn't have had sex ever if not for that battle? She was talking to willow about how she was "ready" for sex anyway. We're just lucky Spike happened to be there when it happened.

@stasi3214 what about when they were human?Angel was a drunken lout -but spike was a caring loving son and generally a good decent person (even if he was a bad poet) - Spike is still a rarer specimen of vampire than Angel becuase even when he didn't have a soul -he was capable of goodness -even the writers of the show admit Spike is unique among vampires. And he has better taste in music than Angel. I'll take the sex pistols and the ramones over Barry Manillow any day.

Every demon on the show was capable of goodness but just because you're capable of it doesn't mean you show it or embody it and I've already said I don't think the things Spike did were out of goodness. I liked him the best when he was a villain who had to work with the good guys for his own selfish reasons. problem was I liked him so much I wanted him to get the soul-but then he became a complete pussy because of it and buffy-I think Spike is best when he is playing against people that he doesn't like. That's probably why he became a bad ass again when he moved to Angel.
@trapadoored I can definitely agree with you there. I liked him much better as a villain. If he had stayed consistent then I probably wouldn't have minded him being with Buffy so much but I felt like he completely lost himself once he decided that he was in love.
on the other hand it was pretty true to life about what happens to people when they fall in love. They lose themselves. It was"beauty killed the beast" like in king kong. Honestly I dont really think angel or spike should end up with buffy because they are stronger characters on their own. I would kind of like to see her with Faith though, just because they had really strong chemistry love/hate way and Buffy has already dated a girl in the comic book sequel to the show.
@trapadoored That would be interesting to see. I have a feeling that they'd either both get really possessive of each other or be independent to the point of exclusion.

Even if they never stayed "together" I can't imagine them never giving in to impulse and tearing eachothers clothes off and doing it at least once. I kinda liked the spike/faith dynamic too tho.But I don't know whether or not I like those two better as enemies or friends.

Might be a fight for the top.
