That .380 he mentioned at the end, with an external safety and camber indicator is list as CA DOJ approved for sales. One of those little beauties is high on my list of wants. Thanks for the post.
If you want a good .380 then you should but a Ruger LCP I bought one 3 weeks ago, only fired about 100 rounds through it, but no jams and good accuracy! Also light weight and highly concealable.

Just got my p380 and right out of the box the rear site fell off. Kahr said they would fix it in 5 days, 3 weeks later I got it back. Jams and fails to feed or fire. Just like the glock 22 I sent back. I use the same ammo I use in my Xd and my beretta 45. that should clear up the limpwrist answer as well as the ammo. Glock and Kahr P.O.S.
So you get two pistols with some of the highest reputations for reliability .. but they both fail for you, and you just happen to like XD and Beretta more anyway.. ??
Let's put it this way. If springfield made a xd 380 I would have bought one. I know Beretta makes one, but there too big for light carry. That's why I turned to Kahr. I won't do that again.
Kahr states that their pistols need a break in period of around 200 rounds, and this is true of just about any new automatic pistol. You might get one that functions perfectly from the get go but usually you need to run some rounds though to loosen it up and figure out what ammo works best with your pistol. I have a Para like this, it took about 100rds before it smoothed out and I realized it liked Glaser Powerball rounds the best and it would jam with Hornady FTX's.
@dphitch I just can't swallow that. That's why you pay 500 or even more to get something to depend your life on. I just dropped that p380 off to my gunsmith to try and speed up that (breakin) stage. I told him to cut, grind, sand, weld, polish or what ever it takes to get that pistol to a reliable state. He showed me a artical about these new pocket guns. LCP, Keltec, desert eagle, Kahr, and yes even Sig. They all are having these problems.
I have to disagree. The Kahr is a higher quality pistol and has REAL sights, plus a slide stop. The trigger is fantastic. If the CTAC isn't out as of today, it won't be long.
I agree, the Kahr is a higher quality pistol, nicely made but expensive, if you have the money its great but you have to be realistic for what a pocket .380 is going to be used for - close quarter, last ditch defensive point shooting. The LCP and Keltec are reliable and fill that role just fine for someone on a budget.
Right, no price is worth a life. Of coarse. Plenty of handguns out there that are completely reliable, at a reasonable cost. Just because an item is at a premium cost, does not mean it's any more reliable then others on the market. I never commented on if they were reliable of not. IMO, Kahr are WAY over priced.
Yes, I have handled and fired them. That is how I came to my conclusion. Nothing amazing about them for those price points.
@sheba106 Do you own one? I do and I tell you what, no price is worth a life. And the Kahr is well worth the money for my protection. It's the most reliable, smoothest, and easiest gun to carry that I own. If it's not worth the price then buy a taurus 738. At half the price they are excellent, but I guarantee you'll notice the quality and trigger difference instantly.
@scape05 how do you like yours? i've had mine for a few months and i had to send it back and they changed the firing pin and some safety thing. It shoots fine now but the mags arent locking up after the last shot. I was thinking about later maybe upgrading to a kahr cw9.

Save your money get a ruger LCP or Kel Tek P3AT. Hell for the price of a Kahr you can get the LCP with a CTC laser and you don't have to wait for it.

Maybe Kahr will actually bring there prices down to what they are worth for 2010.

Kahrs are some of the best hand guns made IMO. I have over 5,000 rounds through mine and have never had a malfunction.
Much better than a Glock if you have small hands.
