Your performance is so great. Do you have some main advices you always give to your students? .* A certain way for practice? . Certain studies they have to play?.Ah.by the way, I'm a pianist ,I'm studying "Prelude Choral et Fuge by Ceasar Franck . The Fuge is difficult but I'm trying as much as I can. Thanks.
grazie, gentilissimo. ed in effetti, persino un po' troppo enfati co l'affanno espresso dall'accavallarsi quasi onde in tempesta in molti punti. Se la rifarò darò più respiro, più monumentalità al fraseggio.
wonderfull! I like a lot your approach to Chopin! Can I suggest you upload some preludes?...You´re sureñy going to give us 5 stars moment!..Congrats! and thanks for sharing
Grazie davvero,
My piano teacher just assigned me this piece, too. I wanted to see what it was like, and well... Wow. Your interpretation is very good (not that I'm one to talk, but i like it) and I know now how I should strive to play it. I have never played a polonaise...
I've found very interesting that each nationality has a different technique. I like all of them, but the Italian has something I like a lot, most Italians plays with a lot of freedom and flexibility in their hands but they never loose the "proper" posture of the hands. Can you explain something about the Italian technique? I would like to learn something about it.
Too much kind. I'm only an amateur, and not probably a good example, but I studied with a teacher of the so called "napolitan" school. I conserve and I have high esteem of this approach to piano technique (strong articulation AND
weight use), also if I tend to integrate it with different kinds of key attacks.
My idea is : great thing to cultivate single fingers articulation and independece, also if and when you don't use that approach with the key.
What a great Polonaise. Bravo! Wonderful and dramatic playing. My only suggestion is after the long trills and then followed by the chromatic climb, like a rocket launch, I think the ending high note is too staccato or perhaps not emphasized enough. It is a climatic point! Give that high note it's due attention. Other than that, many wonderful ideas.
Thank you! And I agree with your criticism about that "ending of the scale" note. You are really right, and in my next version I'll play it very louder.
Just curious, why, with such obvious talent, do you act like such a fool? It truly detracks from what would otherwise be very, very good playing. You really look like you are retarded and you aren't so why the act?
Many pianists (also famous pianists) feel them free about their body language. I'm among them, and I do not think this is a problem. If one likes really conception and playing, probably the gestures/movements
As you can see here (and in other private messages) someone else appreciate this kind of pianism. You are obviously free to prefer many other pianists, and you are surely right in this. Tastes are tastes, and all we are different in this. Thank you and all the best.
Ok,here I am.I found your interpretation amazing. This Work of Chopin is difficult and your music has so much tension!I like very much the diffrenece between staccato and legato & between short and long notes. Thanks!
You kept the feeling angry the entire time.. but I feel that the anger in the end is even more heartfelt when you play the middle section with more of a beautiful yet sad feeling.. of course this is your interpretation and I respect and enjoy it, but it's just something to ponder.
I was referring to the section from about 2:45 - 5:00, some parts within this section you play soft and subtle, and some with a feeling of resentment, for instance from 4:00 - 4:05, and I feel that this section is more of Chopin having to live with the 'war' (as you stated in the preamble). He expresses his feelings but is much more soft spoken because of the heartbreak.. and at 5:16, after the buildup of anguish, he gives up and ends in revolt.
A very original and outstanding interpretation, like usual every note seems to come from your sensitive and good musical sensation. Bravo! Very expressively played. I enjoyed it very much.
you have great personality, Sandro. listening to you is always very exciting and surprising (in the positive way), you have so many unexpected and originally solutions, and you seem to understand exactely what the music you play is about. bravo!
Absolutely phenomenal. Can't be much better than this!

I do not teach piano, and I think that playing is a private and intimate value.
Unique for each of us. But the technique(s) can be teached.
I find very useful Dohnanyi excercises, and Brahms 51 excercises....
And to practice also without pedal, and with different accentuations, rythms, staccato, all FF, all pp......
All the best,
Sandro

Thank you, but pay attention: if you play with this style you'll be banned from each kind ogf school, academies.
SarrasaniPianoCircus 2 years ago
Why?
gigirox18 2 years ago
This style, or similar ones, also at very higher technical levels than mine, is usually hated from academics and "musicologic correct" thinking.
NOt enough ortodox for their tastes.....

S.

I see. Well, I hope my piano teacher won't mind, because I usually learn pieces by hearing them and copying a lot of it, subconsciously.

Fist of all thank you for attention and feedback.
Very interesting, really, your considerations:
but what do you consider as "middle part"?
I play with a cut and the strucure is so
a-b-a-c-a (instead of a-b-a-c-a-b-a): do you conceive b as "middle part"?
I interpretate so (your words are about b as the "middle part" to play with a different feeling); please tell me if I'm right, I'm really interested.
