This teaches kids how things can be the same. It's cute when Cookie Monster asks Ernie what he's doing. When Ernie tells him that he ruined it, Cookie Monster fixes it to make it look the same again.
I saw this twice when it came out, maybe three times. Thanks for finally posting it, it was one of my favories (who knows why). I could never find it, and I was beginning to think it was a figment of my imagination.
I used to see this about 25 years ago. The music at the end would segue into this really freaky segment about the letter H. The music and the CG animation were particularly scary. Maria was in the clip looking all weird and green and I would always get scared and run out of the room. I got pretty freaked out! Does anybody have that clip?
I remember seeing this once as a kid. Then, about seven years ago, I glimpsed it on "Play with Me, Sesame" while flipping, and I watched it to the end.

I'm not sure this sends the right message to children - children should be encouraged to use their own imaginations in art and not copy.

@oliviathefolkie The point of this sketch is to teach same and different, not to copy other's work.

Cookie Monster'll eat anything. Even paper cookies.

I actually just got an episode containing this sketch (without the big black square in the corner). Mind if I upload that?

The two plates of cookies weren't really the same. Bert's cookie plate had a top black cookie on top while Ernie's had a flan tan cookie on top.

I don't know how "rare" this would be, I saw it on Play with Me Sesame a lot, lol.
I don't know why, but I always liked how Cookie came in and was all "hi Er-nie, whachu doing?"
GroverKent 2 years ago
I only saw it twice.

I think I only saw it once.
I also love whenever Cookie Monster greets Ernie, and whenever cookies are involved, Cookie's all over him like a little three-year old.
"Er-nie! Whatchu gonna do with da cookies?"

I guess I should've specified that I mean I saw it on PWMS a lot in reruns, lol.
