@icbm777 I share the same sentiment, not sure those left behind would be able to cope hearing such profound lyrics and emotion in the two tracks at a funeral, would certainly make it a memorable send off though.
In 2006 I spent 5 weeks in ITU close to death with peritonitis, this was the song that kept playing with such clarity in my head, whilst in a drug induced state of confusion.
This song took me to the edge of existence but brought me back from not being here.
Words cannot describe the beauty of this song and what it means to me. Forever the Cure.
Hey hey! Just one more and I'll walk away All the everything you win Turns to nothing today And I forget how to move When my mouth is this dry And my eyes are bursting hearts In a blood-stained sky Oh it was sweet It was wild And oh how we... I trembled Stuck in honey Honey Cling to me... So just one more Just one more go Inspire in me the desire in me To never go home .......... un ultima volta...
This was the first song by The Cure i ever heard. I didn't think it was humanly possible to create something so incredibly beautiful. Long live The Cure, forever in my heart my soul and my ears.
This is hands-down my favorite song by The Cure! It surely showcases the epitome of their musical creativity. Robert Smith is the absolute master of this craft!! PS - And any band that utilizes a keyboardist gains extra brownie points.. more bands now days need to still do this!
Life. A finite cycle of events, meetings, and departures. Friends discovered, others forgotten. Reminiscing everyone I've encountered. Do these memories have a purpose in my head, or will they simply fade into obscurity, never to be remembered again. Nothing seems the way I once knew, everything is altered. Living in a disillusioned state as the world's time brinks near my end. I so fond for the yonder, outside this crowded and fruitless place.
Sooner would the universe turn into nothingness than another Band ever hope to align themselves with the CURE,Its just one of those things that can never be eclipsed, approached,or surpassed. This CD is a end all Master work that is the standard by which all others will be measured, and never ever be duplicated.
I remember slow dancing to this song with who was then the love of my life. I had just run away that day to the fact that this song was played really seemed fitting. I remember how when the song was over and I was feeling so emotional I looked up and saw my dad standing there crying. He had been watching me and I think he then realized how things were for me at that age. Things were better between us after that night. Damn now I am gonna cry lol
@jth2068 No problem. I think in our advanced age we sometimes forget what it was like when we were teens. The style of clothing and the music has changed but the problems are pretty much the same for this generation of youngsters. (I just wish their music was better! lol) I tried listening to the radio the other day and I couldn't believe it. They played 10 songs in a row and all of them were singers using autotune. I guess anyone can make it these days as a singer without even really singing
Just wna say dis is one of the most beautiful things ive seen and its defo in my top 5 songs of all time, esp this version live. My no1 song of all time is probs new dawn fades by joy division, a great band like the cure and from the same period.
Everybody shines on this live version! Simon Gallup's bass playing, Robert's singing, Jason's drumming, Perry's multi-taking (guitar and keyboards) and Roger's fantastic piano skills.
@Guest22562 Yeah I know this is two years late. but that is such a silly question, of course it is okay. I mean some songs move you to the point of tears.
@waxl1974, glad u came out of that alive. This song and Disintegration are the two I'd like played at my funeral.
