I have to say i know when to give credit due to the winner of the race (obviously the viper) but it seemed like the gt-r's driver was half a sec asleep when launching. He does have awd and weird how he didn't launch first. seems the acr driver was more experienced or gt-r driver choked. classic comparison between 2 very diffrent cars. if im not mistaken the nissan is a twin turbo, the viper is naturally aspired. the nissans power band will be much wider due to the turbos whule the viper has to wait longer to reach its power band which explains the nissan started to catch up. the viper has more torque due to the much larger engine which explains the launch. all in all the viper is a bad ass sports car while the nissan is well... a nissan

Looks to me that that drive of the GT-R doesn't know how to drive...Because with AWD the GT-R should have had no hesitation at the starting line like it did in this video. Take a look at the video where it goes up against the V-10 Lexus LFA prototype. Even though the Lexus beat it over all on the quarter mile the GT-R dusted it at the starting line and left the LFA trying to catch up until about half way down.

Rear wheel drive is kind of essential, as intelligent AWD with a million driving aids makes it impossible to get sideways. Even normal AWD makes it impossible without an incredibly high rear-bias. Look at any sanctioned drift competition... rear wheel drive.

@krocialblack lol. 1. The first comparison with zr1 and gtr was lame. they used a base model gtr that had abt 100hp less (zr1 barely put a scratch on it) 2012 gtr has minor changes thats about it. (just makes things a little more even...and look what happen)
2. acr viper is rwd alot of power gets good launch and high top end..why shouldnt it beat a gtr...but by .0 something seconds? lmao thats lame
