I was planning to go to Costa Rica, but these waves really suck. A lot of people have told not to go and try El Salvador, Nicaragua, Mexico, and even Peru. Wahat do you guys think?
Sign up for the advanced surf trip with them and you'll be set. They take you on guided tours by boat or van each day to the best breaks around Tamarindo. One of the days is a drive up the coast to take an all day boat trip to Ollie's and Witch's Rock. There also always seems to be a wave breaking in the afternoon in the bay where the camp is located on the beach. You can't go wrong taking a trip with them.
Going May 1st and I am almost positive I am going with Witch's Rock Surf Camp, have any suggestions? I am advanced surfer and want to do the tours on the boat ect.
!!!! i am most likely going to witvhs rock surf camp... Can u give me as much info as possible that would be great. ( about your stay, wave height offshore winds?) what spotsdid u surf (most importantly)
Highly recommend Witch's Rock surf camp. We did the advanced surf trip so they take you out every day by van or boat to different spots around Tamarindo. Also included was a boat trip to Witch's Rock and Ollie's Point. Waves were head high+ every day except for one when it was about waist to chest. Offshore winds almost every day made for some really good surf. Best trip I've ever taken.
We mostly surfed Marbella because when everywhere else was flat or blown out that place was head high and glassy. Also surfed Avellanos a couple times and that had a reef break and a beach break. We surfed Langosta in town one morning and that was fun for about an hour before the tide came up. Every afternoon at the camp there was knee to waist waves that were super long rides on a longboard.
whats the surfing like in september in Tamarindo

Check out Magic Seaweed web site. They have wave height/direction by month for just about every location.
