  • the way to lose weight(fat) is cardio & nutrition. is worth more what you consume rather than what you Do. even having good nutrition/water & walking everyday helps you lose weight.

    Thanks for the advice it's definitely helped, for the 7 months i've been at the gym i have realised how important my diet is.

    What you've said about it been a lifestyle change is something i realised early on, ive never enjoyed the gym as much as i do now and i know that this is me set in my ways when it comes to the gym, so thankyou. :)

    NONSENSE! People who eat low carbs can still get fat. The amount of calories should be taken into account. If your body consumes 2400 calories a day, you will still get fat if you consume more than 2400 calories worth of protein or fat. Calories comprise carbs, protein and fat.

    Also, if you eat nothing BUT carbs, but stay under the 2400 calories limit, you can theoretically still lose weight.

  • @Behindspace90 thats not the case for me, for big j, for this guys, or for many others bodybuilders.......... carbs are the key im telling you from experience, is the advice your gonna get for 99% of ppl with experience... is not just about the quantity of calories is more important the quality... sorry any bad english but hey its just advice....

    You're wrong buddy. :) Of course the quality of the calories is vitally important, but that doesn't mean you can ignore the calorie limit of your body. Of course it's better to eat lean foods, high in protein, but that doesn't mean you can suddenly eat 1000 calories too much without getting fat.

    Everything you eat TOO much of will get you FAT, whether it's carbs, protein or fats. Simple as that.

  • @Behindspace90 that's partially true... you can get fat even on a 0 carb diet if you eat more calories than your body can handle, but protien doesnt get anywhere near as much of an insulin response as carbs do, and the insulin response is what makes your body store fat. a very high carb diet would only be good if your body can handle it, average people will get fat fast from that.

    Yep, completely true. :) I was just making sure people don't make the (common) mistake of confusing carbs and calories and protein and fats. The thing is you will still get fat if you consume too much of ANY nutrient, whether it's protein, carbs or fat.

    In a healthy diet, you will need all three of them though, that's what's important.

  • Yeah, I've been loosing weight for ALMOST 3 months and I've lost 16 kilos just by going to the gym and lifting weights and doing cardio ONCE A WEEK. Thats because I fucking hate cardio...but as said, you can loose WEIGHT fast just by lifting weights too. And I highly recommend Animal Cuts. Removes shit loads of extra water off your body!

    Extra water? That's kinda weird. a) Your body needs all the water it can get. b) You will never have "extra" water unless your nutrition is messed up, e.g. you're eating a lot of salty foods. If you cut out on your water, your muscles will not get the insuline you need for working out intensely.

    Also; use cardio as a way to feel better and healthier. If you just do cardio 20-30 minutes a day or every 2 days, it will not be that hard.

    "Stable"? Since when do you have to talk about "stable" insulin levels in fitness? Unless you're a diabetic, your insulin level can not ever, never ever, be too high. It can only be too low, because of bad nutrition, or because of bad hydration. If you're doing bodybuilding or fitness and want to be healthy, you don't all that extra shit. Just eat and drink healthy like a normal human being was meant to do.

  • I've been lifting for six months now and i've seen a huge change in my physique, but I've been eating like shit the whole time. I've been eating hamburgers, pizza, chinese food and alot more junk and i've still been able to burn fat and build muscle. Is this unusual even though I'm only 18.

  • @Bhug468 I noticed the same thing. I'm 15, and like 2-3 months ago I started going to the gym, lifting weights and doing like 10 minutes of cardio. I would go every other day, too.

    I think I'm noticeably stronger, gained muscle, and lost 12-15 pounds (it varies). I changed nothing about my diet (which was mostly crap), but I'm starting to eat more fruits and trying veggies :P.

  • just do weights first than some easy cardio for like 15-20min after. If you killed it enough with the weights you should be pretty damn tired already. Another option is some serious cardio like skipping in the morning to start your day for 15min and weights at night

  • high intensity cardio is mainly for mma fighters. i can't weight train right now cuz i overtrained doing that and am still recovering so i do high intensity cardio 2-3 times a week instead until i can weight train again

  • I like to do high intensity cardio right after I lift except leg days. I do 20 min. I do 15 seconds on elliptical as fast as I can then 30 seconds at a fast but slower pace. I burn less fat calories but more overall calories this is way better. Look at football players they do a lot of fast running with weight training dudes are ripped and strong. And since I started I can see. My body changing very quickly.

  • @ediot6969 High intensity cardio is fine, but the average person is far more likely to stick with a low intensity cardio routine over their lifetime. In the end, the key is to continue moving throughout your life.

    Anyone who wants to have a nice body, it can really all be summed up with two rule: (1) eat less; and (2) move more.

  • I definitely agree with Keith and Kevin on this one. Anyone who does compound exercises like squats, bench press, rows etc. along with low intensity cardio such as walking, will see their bodies get ripped up nicely. It shouldn't take any longer than six months to see major improvements.

So that's why they're doing the videos and also they're interacting with and responding to their subscribers/fans. Nobody likes being ignored so personal videos like this make the subscribers feel 'special'
