I think that the new LRRH version is a little of a copy of this one and the tale where it came from; but this one is much better, I mean; Lansburry!! Is amazing!! And the tale is cool- honestly, who was the badass that said the wolves are the villains? Carter is my idol!!!
I just watched this movie and it's cheesy as hell just like : ginger snaps, wolf, american werewolf in london, american werewolf in paris, twatlight, big bad wolf, red riding hood, cursed, never cry werewolf, van helsing, wolf man( 2010) etc etc . Stick with: the howling 1, dog soldiers, silver bullet ,bad moon and the underworld trilogy if you want to see a decent werewolf movie. All the rest are either funny or plain stupid.
@1misanthropist all the movies you put in the good, not cheesy or laughable list were meant as a thriller, gory, or otherwise scary movies. The company of wolves was meant to be more symbolic and reference the original undertones of the classic "Red Riding Hood" tale. So I can see how you would put this movie in the not so good list. But taking into consideration the fact it was never meant to be scary in the first place and the subcontext of the movie, I think this movie is quite good
@bittersweet2311 I agree with you, but just a little detail: classic story was scary as hell. All the fairy tales were. This one is a manipulated version.
I feel asleep watching this shit. Boring fairy tale with no meaning,or sense at all. Awful, awful, awful and ending is - omg. bunch of wolves coming into girl's house???? I guess this movie is made for 10 year olds.
@ogorjefan You fell asleep because maybe you're too daft to see what this film was all about. Did the symbolism elude you? This is all about a girl growing into a woman, having her period and many other symbolic things like her fertility. She has a grandmother who has already "been there" and doesn't want her to grow up and become the "victim" of a man. But in the end, the wolf (man) gets the girl. It was a brilliant piece of work. I dare you to even attempt to acheive this type of art.
@AnnaSofiaR Yeah this movie is indeed about feminism, i guess if i was a woman then i would see it differently. I am just too old to take this movie seriously.
Stupid song. I think it should be mandatory to play the scene from Requiem for a Dream alongside all crappy uses of this song...especially for Two Towers trailers!
Just been watching National Geographic about the FBI Behavioural Unit linking how Silence of the Lambs came to be from USA's historical serial killers. What's scary is how the werewolf as a man at 2:01 looks like Ted Bundy. Always remembered the joint eyebrows!
@ChainsmokingPothead : LIttle Red Riding Hood with werewolves, of course it is worth seeing, for the transformation scenes at the very least. Hard to find in a region 1 though, but worth the search.
Damm, Props for using such original music. Nobody on Youtube has ever used requiem for a dream before. Well done, I just hope that such a great song doesn't become the wannabe win button Hack National Anthem for every Movie video ever :P.
look up the requiem for a dream soundtrack i think its on there. i know they played it on the lord of the rings EA game trailer and was able to find it somehow but cant remember. i just know Requiem for a dream is what most people call it
I never really understanded the first part of the movie, only after Rosaleen meets the werewolf, the rest of the movie didn't make so much sense to me?
omg. Poor lux aeterna. Every single movie preview uses it. Its kind of funny because it is originally from a movie about heroin addictions. Watch it, it is amazing
Actually, the original were legends have the creatures looking exactly like their counterparts. A werewolf looks like a regular wolf or human. Nothing between.
It is used, because It is lovely, dramatic piece of music... although the film Requiem for a dream was apparently (not seen it) total garbage. Film is set in modern US but features ECT for people who are conscious. Sensationalism in the name of art, eh?
