  • I did this with my choir last year, I was in the soprano section. I must say, these sopranos sound amazing. :)

  • Anyone know what the name/artist of the first painting in this video is? I can't find it anywhere!

    Thanks.

  • This kind of almost theatrical lighting coming out of a very dark setting, in the first visual image, reminds me of Vittoria's fellow Spaniard Zurbaran -- but these figures look a little too delicate to be his. I'd really like to know whose painting this is.

  • A beautiful reading -- and the singers had a nice acoustic situation and took intelligent advantage of it too.

The first image with this performance is very interesting -- the light source is the virgin and child themselves, and all the other figures are lit by their radiance in a fairly dark setting. Brings wonderful light and shadow on all the faces and hands, and the limbs and draperies of the angels hovering above them. What painting is it, by whom and when?.

  • Only found one mistake... the altos have a discrepancy at 1:32 about whether they are singing a C or a C#. However, this only stuck out because the rest of it was so glorious :-)

  • @jenfroe8806 Wow now I hear it. great ear.

  • one and only..
