  • In Texas we do the "step ball change," as you call it and there's a kick across part, then you stomp twice in rhythm when you turn. THAT's how you do it.

  • Thank you. This helped me.

  • the way I learned this one is to instead of doing the same 4 kicks then step ball twice is to do the 4 kicks, 2 stomps (step balls as you call em) then 2 kicks then stomp and change directions.. the two stomps sounds cool with certain parts of the music better,

  • here in nc there is actually 2 types this ones close to teh easier one that i have learned then tehy got the "actual" dance as that other guy said this is just another version of it...

  • umm, pretty sure its 2 ball changes 1st then the one and turn.

  • Hey girls! Nice job. Anyone who can teach me to line dance has my vote. ;)

  • i like the effort from you girls. but u two are going faster than the beat of the song. otherwise its good

  • This is almost similar to what we do at Cowboys in Orlando, pretty much the same steps. But ive seen soooo many ways of doing this dance. Alot of line dances are changed up its confusing.

  • the jersey way is alot different and harder.

  • This is really close to the one I learned out here in Davis, California at The Graduate. The only different is that instead of kicking it's stomping and then when the song gets faster kind of..like jumping/stomping the steps so it gets really loud. Easy but very fun :)

  • i love going to the round up!!! been goin about 3 months now.. know half the dances, but want to learn more.. love to see ya out there..

  • I'm from this area of Florida and I've never seen it like this...

  • ok wow. i know that dances change depending on where your at, but this is way wrong. i have traveled all over the South learning line dances. Copperhead Road IS the easiest dance to do. there are two versions, male and female. the only part that you guys have right is the first four counts. the next four counts has two counts to each foot in a row. after the kick, you cross you leg infront of the other leg. the third set is the same as the first but you add a set of two stomps after the 3set

  • WOW this video you guts made is soooooooooooo stupid

  • the dance may be different through the region but not THIS different

    this is completely wrong

  • This is the dance that kids made up because they couldn't keep up with the real dance. So sad, just learn the real dance.

  • There is no "real dance" The dances really very between regions.

  • By "real dance" I mean the dance that was created for the song when it came out, back in 88. That is the real dance. All others are watered-down versions and are pretty boring in comparison to the other.

  • this helped me out. im gonna try at the country bar here in Okinawa, Japan.

  • haha, awesome. :)

  • Round Up isn't so bad since they've changed managment..still Sat. nite 10 dolla sink er swim! =D

  • I haven't been able to go. I thought sink or swim was on Friday. o.O'

  • this is not the dance to this song.

  • Like I've said many times before, the dance isn't the same everywhere you go. It depends on region.

  • agreed thats circle stomp, done to international harvester,

  • thanks alot this has helped quite abit im tired of standing off to the side its time to dance .thanks again

  • My sexy ass has got you!

  • Thanks,

I've been learning line dancing for nearly 2 years - maybe 20-30 classes, but I'm horrible and really need to spend time in my own home practicing. Your style is regional, and connects with ours, so we do a lot of the step-song combinations. Keep 'em comin' for us ADD types.

  • aw thank you! =) This is one of the very few dances I know lol

Ive been to the bull in Tampa...but what is the round up? is that fun?

  • I have never been to the Bull. The round-up is down near Dunedin, so It's a little drive. Though they've changed management, so I can't really say how they are now.

  • i have been tryin to learn this dance for ever!! i go to round up in davie and this is the same way they do it. i just never remember all the steps the next day!! lol

  • I keep hearing of the round-up in Davie. I have to make a trip down there sometime. XD lol

  • I like this one. It's easy to dance to. But I've never heard of this line dance before. Probably because I'm a northerner XD.

  • lol did anyone notice the cat jumped half a mile out of the way funniest part of the video.

  • hmm.. its different steps in newyork.. its alot more complicated. more jumping and grape vines and such.

  • thanx ive been tryin to prove to my ma thats how it goes.

and it helps ur from tamoa too

    cuz thats where were from.

yall shood do the cotton eye joe so i can prove that one to her too.

    lol

well if u do let me know.

  • We do the more complicated one in ny too. If you are ever planing to come to upstate ny i'll teach you

  • I actually go to Upstate NY everyyear. XD Where in upstate are you from? I'm from Delaware County.

  • I line dance in New Paltz. its more like mid stae than upstate....but I've never heard anyone say that LOL.

  • roommate5. i go to joes in New Paltz too. Do you know any videos on here that are actually accurate to how they dance at joes?

  • the way we do it is soo much differsnt with hops and kicks and crossovers its so much harder. lol

  • wow im in okeechobee this is how we do it at 8 seconds too my girlfriends have been tryingot show me im usually too drunk to remember it afterwards though!!!i think i got it now thanks chickys :)

  • lol you're welcome :)

  • we do it sooo different! where are the high kicks and the crossovers!!! I wish i could show you how we do it, you might like it!!!!

  • Hey! I have seen two different versions, but neither are the version that we do here in Raleigh NC. Weird. we do it like yours, however we add crosses and higher kicks!!

  • oops, sorry, I misread the description.. sorry. :)

  • lol that's np. :P

  • Its neat that you put your version of the dance up as a video (great way to get your sis to do the dances!).. just so you know, this is the copperhead stomp, or a variation of it (we do it different on the west coast..

we dance copperhead stomp -outside & copperhead road -inside (the dance with kicks in it, someone with the username frani56 has a video of it, or close..)

That's what I love about YouTube.. if you don't know a dance, or want to learn a new one, be a nerd and look it up! ^.^

  • lol she's not my sister. She's my brother's girlfriend. XD

But yeah youtube is awesome. I'll have to check out the one you mentioned.

    thanks for watching! ;)

  • Not sure where you learned that version of cooperhead road, i've never seen that version done before

  • they dance it like this at the Round-Up in Olds Mar, FL.

  • I just Looooooooooove when things bounce!! Great job!

  • all ur linedances are diffrent then how we do it up here

  • They vary from area to area. Where are you from?

  • akron ohio northeast area of ohio

  • ah, that explains it. Well that's cool that they are different. Like I post at the beginning of every episode, this is the Tampa style at the Round-up. You should post videos of how you do it up there. :)

  • i might

  • Hell, they're different from GA too... they leave out half the steps.

  • me likey! >.>; probly coz i can actually follow it and UNDERSTAND. besides this probly how itd be taught to you if you were really there at the bar or whatever lmao xD

  • I bet that cat will be dead by "Lesson 10", But thanks for the video. I think that this is the way they do it in South Carolina.

  • lol, she's still very much alive. :P

  • wow this is really inaccurate. this is not even close to the actual copper head road line dance. close but no cigar.

  • The dance is different depending on where you go. This is how they do it at the Round-up in Olds Mar,FL. If you read the other comments you would see that a lot of people have mentioned different versions of the dance. There is no "actual" version.

  • i did not know that... now knowing that ignore my inaccurate comment... thanks for the corection

  • np.

  • sucks

  • Line dancing is for losers that cant find a real partner. As a former DJ, I used to laugh at these losers. I'm glad, however that they had fun. I remember back in the 70's Disco. Hustle on younguns!!!!!!

  • look at this guy. i can 2 step , 3 step 2 step. i dance R&B/Hip Hop. Crip walkz & usher Slidez to line dancing. and i ain't no loser by far. and i still love to learn new line dances... and i know alot more like me mr. DJ. That might be the reason u use to be a D.J. ignorence.... be E-Z homie.

  • This is pretty close to how we do it in WA at Mcclouds.WE do the kick twice and then when the songs goes faster we speed the dance up.

  • You guys did an excellent job teaching the steps. You should consider this with other songs that you know the steps to.

  • So I know there are different versions in different areas and such but I have to say this is the most boring version I have seen so far.

  • haha, I agree actually. XD But it's the easiest dance at the place I learned to dance all these line dances so that's why it's the first one I did. :)

  • I agree. Ours is completely different.

  • You have provided us some good fun. Thanks a lot. NZ.

  • Nice video- Nice dancing

    We love it !

    Nashville Line Dancers Aalen

    The Number One Showdancers

  • Watch out kitty!!

    lmao

  • Thanks! :)

  • sweet i can finally fit in at the local country bar here in CO Springs.

  • yea i learned a different way too but this is almost the same. i live in north fla. its not too different but anyways i have totaly forgot it its been so long.

  • Want to see how it's really done look up "Texas Redneck" on myspacetv.

  • That ain't how we do it in Texas

  • The dances are different depending on where your from. This is the version that I've learned, but I have seen many different versions.

  • It's in Oldsmar, not in downtown Tampa.

  • oh, well I'm still not really familiar with Tampa. I figured Tampa, cause it's on Hillsborough Ave. XD

  • Great video, I look forward for some more.

I go to the RoundUp here in Davie (South Florida) and this song is played most of the nights. Ive found a few videos from the club, and I'm even in a couple of them.

  • oh wow really? That's awesome. :) It's funny, my friends had to drag me to the Round-up the first time, and I ended up having a lot of fun, it's like an addiction now. XD

  • If you come by South Florida, stop by Roundup. You'll have a lot of fun. You might know the DJ, who is from Tampa.

  • I'll do that. :)

  • Thanks girls!;-D

  • You're welcome. :)

  • you guys are really good.

im glad you did these steps.

i've always wanted to learn the copperhead road line dance.

  • oh wow, thanks. :) I'm in the process of editing more dances, so check my channel out later to see them. :) Also, keep in mind that depending on where you are from depends how the dances are done. Thanks for watching!
