They were actually playing with the idea a submersible launch barge, that U-boats could tow behind them across the Atlantic.

The V2s to be launched from them were also to have been fitted with Radiological Warheads (the "Dirty A-Bomb"), set to airburst above a sizable area target.

Not that they ever went anywhere with the idea --- Germany was reckless and wasteful with it's war funds and materials, so they pretty much lacked the resources to build such a thing before they even thought of it.
