    Its mostly to get rid of bugs and check the ground underneath doesnt have holes leading to an ants nest.

    These woods have sheep in them at certain times of the year and in just under the leaf litter there are grey larvae. I am unsure what they are so to be safe I clear way the leaves. Also this gives me a clean base to work from.
