Corrugated Iron? Thats cheating! LOL! Proper survival shelter though, Keep It Simple, Stupid. saves calories, time and effort. Keep you a damn sight drier too...
These woods have sheep in them at certain times of the year and in just under the leaf litter there are grey larvae. I am unsure what they are so to be safe I clear way the leaves. Also this gives me a clean base to work from.

Its mostly to get rid of bugs and check the ground underneath doesnt have holes leading to an ants nest.
