@noordwinter That was probably the Squadron's emblem on the side of the plane. The Japanese did not use German Stukas; they used themselves as dive bombers.
An attack on the roof from the lower level by the Belgians would have been extremely difficult. It was attacking uphill and the capture of the roof was something that had not been considered.
Of course anti glider traps could have been set - but no-one thought of it.
There was also the fear of engaging a Belgian plane. The gliders landed from the west (not east). Earlier a Belgian plane had been shot down by over enthusiastic AA + more care was being taken.
I still think the Germans were very strong. Even now. But also the most stupid because they believe Hitler
