Thanks for the info. I used a Canard CG calc and came up with 20.5 from canard LE. Sorry for the double post. Phone said it didn't post when it actually did. Thanks again. Hope to maiden soon!
@calebsmedia Hmm, that sounds kind of weird. What are your wing and canard dimensions - span and chord? You can email me too at experimentalairlines@gmail dot com
Forgot to me to mention that I will not be using control surfaces on the canard just main wing. Also do you think it will work if I put bigger winglets on? I'm just trying to load it down since I have such a big motor and to make it fly real stable. I also forgot to ask do you think that the CG will still be 15"? Sorry for so many questions its just you have more experience the. I and I wanna make sure it flys correctly. Thanks again!
@calebsmedia For the same wingspan and chords the CG will be at 15". Use the calculator. Bigger winglets might not be necessary but won't hurt. This plane is pretty darn stable without much effort. As with any plane, err on the nose-heavy side and work back from there.
@ExperimentalAirlines thanks for all the info! I am about done with the airframe of my version of your Peace Drone. I made my fuse 3" square and same 30" long on main frame. I also increase chord to 6". I am putting a bigger motor on there (only one I have). It's a 480 1000kv. So I made it larger for the added weight. Should I use 2" control surfaces since its a bigger wing?

What are the measurements from where the canard and wing are placed? Ie x amount of inches from the front of the plane to the leading edge. also where is the cg located. Thanks!
@calebsmedia In the current iteration (see later videos) he canard leading edge is 1" aft of the main fuselage front (the transition between the nose pod and fuselage) and the main wing trailing edge is 1" forward of the rear of the fuselage. With this canard/main wing setup the CG comes to 15", exactly in the middle of the main fuselage tube. The nose pod length can vary so I am referring to the main fuselage only as the datum for CG and wing mounts. Better video coming soon.
@ExperimentalAirlines Thanks for the info and look forward to the upcoming video. I purchased a bigger motor for my version (a 480 1000kv motor). So I am thinking I may need to make it bigger or do you think it will work fine on the current size?
@ExperimentalAirlines sorry to keep bothering you, but since I will have the 480 motor on there with more power do you think it will be better if I made the cords 6in and the fuse 3in. Do you think that will help with the extra power?
@calebsmedia I can say that using a 2.75" interval on the fuselage tube will yield a 3" internal tube that will fit a GoPro perfectly and does not seem to adversely affect flight. You can also fit a ton of batteries and extra gear in there. Total wing chord (airfoil plus control surface) of 7" seems to be pretty good for both main wing and canard when looking for efficiency (higher aspect ratio). Consider increased chord for heavy lifting.
@calebsmedia Exactly as seen in the "metal motor mounts" video also on my channel. Thin metal plate, bent 90 degrees, adhered with heavy duty foam tape to plastic gift card hot glued to foam fuselage interior.
@mtbRAF No plans really necessary but I will promise a more detailed tour video soon so you can better see how it's put together. See the Armin Wing videos for making 3 x 30" sections of wing and the fuselage tube for making 1 1/2 30" sections and snap it together. Stay tuned.

@calebsmedia I'd recommend 200-300 watts and 900-1200kV for a motor, around 10x4.5 or 12x4.5 prop, larger is quieter and more efficient.

any chance of plans, no matter how basic they may be. I imagine the canard could be made from a kfm airfoil too.
