You do realize of course, that most of these candidates are just going to tell you what you want to hear and then not do anything. Joe Biden is the man, though.
Actually, my politics professor told me that in the last election cycle, ALL campaigns put together was 5 billion dollars, that is an extremely small percentage of the budget and you wouldn't need a tax hike, but we should be paying for this war now and not force people like me and my friends in college to pay for it.
Joe Biden, along with all of our intel heads at the time, met with the man who gave Mohammed Atta $100,000, Pakistani ISI director Mahmoud Ahmed. He was confronted about this in a WeAreChange confrontation. He did not deny the meeting (it happened about a week before 9/11). Google: "ISI 9/11 funding" for details. Seek the truth, it will come to you.
Joe Biden is and always has been my favorite for the Presidency. No, he would not make a good vice president, especially if, God forbid, Billary gets elected. Secretary of State, maybe, Vice President, no. I love his views on all the issues and agree with him 99% of the time.
I'm glad he says that there's worry about who would control standardized machines... The worry for me increases with a federally mandated standard...
I think the worst way to audit fraud is to hand the responsibility over to the federal government. The IRS has asked me for my address on three separate occasions this year. How can I expect these people keep straight who I voted for if they can't tell where I live, when it's printed on the envelope the sent the question in?
Biden's right. If Tuesday is a holdiday, I'll take Monday as a vacation day and leave. Won't vote. But when I think about it at work on Tuesday people actually remind each other to be sure to vote - which probably adds a few percent.
Solving the voting issue is simple. Make it a condition for maintaining citizenship. If you don't vote for two or three years then you loose your citizenship, and loose all rights and privileges thereof. THAT should solve the turnout problem. Abolishing the electoral college and returning to a direct democracy could help too.
Many candidates will turn to campaign reform while they run for an office, but here (speaking of the presidential race), is there any point in advocating a reform that has little chance of taking hold before the the election? And once elected by the system as-is, why would an administration ever advocate real reform?
p.s. The 500 character limit isn't very conducive to substantial commentary.
of course! better to air out the state of our election system, and the dismal level of voter participation in America BEFORE an election rather than after one when problems and ex post facto accusations and critiques arise about the way and day we voted. while no laws may change before 2008 to make sure voting is mroe accessible, every vote counts and every vote is counted, at least we can get people talking about change. -jacob
Well played, WhyTuesday. Despite the general regard for Joe Biden's plain-speaking, get-in-your-face manner, it seemed like he got a little talking-pointy here. Maybe another cup of coffee would have helped.
my tits are SO sore right now!!! :( oooouch!!

Biden was so cool enough to not only take time out for this - on his own FREE TIME - but to explain his views thoughtfully.
Let's see McSame or any of the Oil Boys even talk on their own feet or be this accessible.
Biden is an everyman and too good for any of you who discount him. His integrity is obvious.

He's good and i find myself agreeing with him quite a lot in the Debates and in videos as this one.
Having said that, I favor Hillary but he would be a good choice as well.

I love Joe Biden, I hope he gets the VP nod. No way he's going to get the Presidential Nod but he'd be a nice fit for VP.
