@jbone51096 I have proudly owned my 02 Altima 3.5se since 2005, I think I bought it with 50k on it, now 98k I love the car great engine response, a very fast grocery getter. I do hate the steering radius though, but in return I get engine response and very good handling. The car does suck in snow. I have not had any problems with it besides a pesky oil leak that has been fixed since. Upgraded to a short ram intake, vented and slotted rotors. Just replaced the pads. She still likes to party...

The fastest 3.5 is the 2007+ with the 6spd man.

The only 3.5's that weren't that fast were the 02-04 with the 4spd.

These numbers I am going to list are just from the magazines I've collected since 1985. *03' Altima 3.5 (5MT) 0-60 = 5.9, 1/4 Mile = 14.5 @ 98.3 *02' Altima 3.5 (4AT) 0-60 = 6.5, 1/4 Mile = 14.9 @ 93.6 *05' Altima 3.5 (5AT) 0-60 = 6.2, 1/4 Mile = 14.7 @ 94.9 *06' Altima SE-R (6MT) 0-60 = 5.8, 1/4 Mile = 14.4 @ 99.6 *Again, these are just from various magazines I have... It just gives a basic idea.

@IrishChris1979 Magazine ive collected since 1999 im not old so i have not been collecting. 2002 altima 2.5s (at) 0-60= 8.2 1/4 =16.4@86mph, 2003 altima 5sp same time you have. 2005 Altima 3.5se yes automatic have done 14.4 in the 1/4 mile also manuals that have done 14.2 if you wanna look it up not saying you are wrong .

It's cool, I didn't go through all of my mags. I have entire wall of them LOL. I just listed the stats from the mags I had in front of me. Either way, for a V6 family sedan, these cars are really quick anyway you look at it. Especially for the money. Thanks for the extra stats... I was wondering what the 02-06' altima 2.5s did in the 1/4. My G/F has an 03' Sentra SE-R (Auto) which is 300 LBS lighter w/the same motor and tranny. Now we can estimate what her car does in the 1/4.

Yeah, that sounds about right. It's not bad for a stock 4-banger with an automatic...It's a torquey little thing, it rarely needs to downshift for extra power, even going up hills, unless you get on it.

@futballking88 Don't listen to the ignorant 2.5 bashing. Just avoid the first two model years, which were 02 and 03. They had some issues with head gaskets and catalysts as it was a new design. I have a 2005. The worst you're going to see is a few sensor failures at 100k miles, which is the same as the V6. The car costs less than $1,000 a year to maintain on average and will get you over 30mpg consistently. If you have the budget, the 07+ models are even better.

@TheJonathan4291 I personally wouldn't own an 02. That model year was uncharacteristically, for a Nissan, problem-prone. However, if sensors going are all that she's had to deal with, I'd advise her to stick it out. They all went on mine and I was pissed for a few weeks. After that, nothing broke, and suddenly it's 3 years later, and I'm smiling. :)

It could be worse, you could have a BMW and have to replace the entire valvetrain and/or engine at 100k miles, for 10-16 grand. ;)
