the reason i hate the fuckers is because crack is all they care about. they will rob off their own family members to feed their habit.
in my area about 80% of all the crime that goes on down here is burglary and car theft and it's the junkies who are responsible. they make the place look untidy and make no effort to blend into society, they just rob off good honest folk.
you can't respect them because they don't respect themselves, or anyone else for that matter.

they're happy sitting around in squalor receiving benefits because they're used to it.
there's a saying: you can bring a horse to the trough but you can't make it drink.
you can offer help to a crackhead, take him to the best rehab clinic but unless he actually WANTS to get off the crack, he'll be straight back on it after leaving the clinic.
willpower is key, without it you won't get anywhere.

How could he help him? 1st of all quit putting the guy down. 2nd of all there are drug rehabilitation programs that come and arrest. It's not the crackheads that are robbing people.
