  • Chuck Barris should be on Inside The Actors Studio.

  • 4 people had loved ones whacked by Chuck

  • I clicked this because i thought it said "Chuck Norris" Yes idk how to read properly ;D

  • I had no clue he wrote Palasades park great song! I loved watching the gong show when I was a kid! LOve Chuck he is awesome

  • I always had a crush on Chuck Barris. What a cutety.

  • Good ole Chuck Barris! Loved him on The Gong Show! What a riot! LOL! Seems like a really nice dude, too!

  • bloke is a genius,fucking brilliant

  • @BadEggCymru YOUR RIGHT !! a genius ,ahead of his time !!

  • This guy is full of shit.....CIA assassin my ass

  • @SerbianEagleCCCC its a joke...but you do have to wonder about some of those trips they took on the dating game

  • He's stoned right now

  • I was a Newlywed when the Newlywed Show was in full force. I watched it and we could almost always get the answers together. That had a lot to do with my Divorce.

I absolutely laughed myself silly watching the Gong Show though J,P,Morgan ruined the experience for me a lot of the time. I really didn't care for her. You bet your life was also a great show. Wasn't it Chuckie Baby! Thanks for all the Laughs. Always a Fan

  • Chuck Barris: The Finest and Most-Successful Professional HEALTHCARE-PROVIDER (DOCTOR!) the USA has ever produced. Laughter Is The Best Medicine. Thankyou, THANKyou, Chuck! -- J.

  • I do love his humility and his kindly expression. Who would have thought he had lived the life he did?

  • comes across as a really nice guy.

  • i'd kinda like to know if he has an Aristocrats joke, but he seems too good natured to ever repeat it

  • Have to agree with the poster who said it's hard to believe the fellow in this

clip is the same goofy emcee of the Gong Show.

My mother always said Chuck walked like his feet hurt. Wonder if he

    still does.

  • No. Chuck was not the father of reality shows to come. He was one of the last of those that allowed people to be themselves. He was more of the Linkletter and Alan Funt style.

  • Chuck had the most sexy hairy chest!

  • to compare the gong show and hmmm whats it caled oh yeah AI you cant do that chucke had more energy than anyone on that AI show he was more funny than any AI person and if you think fag adam would not have been gonged....well guess again

  • Loved Chuck Barris - he is also sexy!!!

  • chuck barris is a great talent---i remember the show with fondness and affection--todays's kids lack that innocence--and they are too jaded and clueless.....

  • AMERICAN IDOL IS BORING AND not watchable; big egos ruin the show; at least the gong show made us laugh; american idol is a mess; and i mean the panelists; not the kids that come on there to sing

  • The Gong Show will forever live in my memories & leak out into real life.

  • I loved the Gong Show!! Loved Chuck and his zany ways

  • if you think about it ..American Idol is just the old Gong show revisited...just ..no gong, no chuck barris and no zainy hilarity,

three judgemental characters on ego trips and nothing really funny about it at all

  • MrHarry46, you are TOTALLY correct!

I have always called it "A glorified Gong Show"

  • is a damn chuck cia spy for Barrys

  • A true American original!

  • He's so hot!

  • he still rawks.

  • Nice video and shows what a sweet guy he is...I'am a fan...yeah...more stuff..............

  • I would never guess that was the same guy who hosted the Gong Show.

  • Chuck Barris ain't dead yet!

  • What memories the Gong Show brings back to me being a little kid sitting on the floor watching the show with my parents in the summer with the windows and doors open. And those glittery 70s sets bring me back. Watching the clips of this show make me almost sad yearning to be a kid in my living room with my parents back in 1976 again. Oh well.

  • To go back to then...and do it over? Absolutely! I also deeply yearn for those days. I live in the past for good reason -- those were far better days. I treasure them. Alas, time travel is not possible. If it were so, I'd give barbara Eden a hickey.

  • I'm with you, Gossage. We had something special in the 70's that I couldn't recreate for my kids today. It's called innocence.

  • Foratv:

Tell Chuck he still have a lot of love out here, for his creatity and for his humble, yet lovable demeanor. He doesn't give himself half the credit he deserves. He is the greatest.

  • Chuck Barris was the best!!! Wish the show could come back the same way it was.....he was the greatest!!!

Hopefully, even at his age...he'll be back with more stuff.

  • back in the 1970s during the summer months I never missed the gong show....that show got away with murder!...(any other show nbc censors would have pulled!)...now we know the cia was protecting the show to give our heroic hitman deep cover to pull off his 33 hits!...the greatest cia caper in history and I'm a huge fan!-milwaukee

  • I was 12 in 1977...i was a little army crewcut haired fascist republican hippie hater...i used to time on my wristwatch and yell gong! at the tv set...today the acts are so funny on youtube...I want to see more of jp morgan ...sexy 1970s liberated swinger hot chick!-milwaukee

  • 5-stars... first of all the cia would sue him or bust him if he made up his hitman job!...i read his book he is a cold war hero!...he served his country and put his life on the line for everyones freedom!...he killed soviet kgb! (his gong show is still funnier than saturday night live and mad-tv combined!)

  • Definitely Mad TV, but not SNL. Sorry!

  • im shocked that he said he never did drugs.......i thought it was well documented that he did tons of coke........

  • i was a junior in high school when gong show began. what a great show...original...and remember sivi aberg... miss sweden...what a babe!

  • I love Chuckie Baby!

  • To Mr. Barris, if you happen to read this:

How about this phrase for future generations to remember you by?

    "GONGED...BUT NOT FORGOTTEN"

I loved The Gong Show. Today I'm a professional juggler!

  • wasn't this guy an agent for the C.I.A.?

  • Back wheni was still w/ NYPD- i was standing on 5th ave and Chuck walked out of St.Patricks Cathedral--i stopped in my tracks--said hello ND HE WAS SO NICE -TOLD HIm how much of a fan of the Gong Show-he looked at me and said how old were you 10--I said 13 and he laughed --and said "well did i entertain you --i sad yes --he gave me a hug said THANKS--AND STAY SAFE OFFICER---nice guy

  • That's a really cool story!

  • Anybody Remember Gene Gene The Dancing Machine? Chuck went crazy when Gene took the stage and started dancing!

  • I can sit all day and watch old episodes of Chucky on the Gong Show. He was simply hilarious - especially when he danced.

  • Is there any video that exists of the "Chuck Barris Rah Rah Show"?, his short lived variety show back around 1978? I think they only did 5 or so episodes.

  • That's too sad about Gene.......He WAS the show.

  • What happened to Gene Gene the Dancing Machine? Should he appear on "Dancing with the Stars"?

  • Gene (Patton) the Dancing Machine lost both his legs in 2001 due to complications from diabetes.

  • He is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He's incredibly humble, loves talking with would-be writers. I was a fan of the Gong Show from day one, and I was surprised by how low-key and grounded he was in person. Lovely man...

  • Wow. That was great. I do believe him when he says that he never did drugs, although I am surprised! Nobody says they don't do drugs, unless they're serious. Drugs are too popular. Honestly, I've never done them either. Even Zappa said he smoked 10 joints in his life and that was it for him. Viva los Chucky.....CHUCKY, CHUCKY, CHUCKY!!

  • I think he was schizophrenic.

  • Nope Spacey, he was OCD...he could do NOTHING small, he had to to everything in a huge and out-landish way. I am married to a wonderful man with a bit of OCD traits, and it drives ME nuts sometimes....(and if you have ever been around someone who is hearing voices...then Chuck would be considered very very normal)

  • Went to your site link....didn't see any video.

  • love this guy

  • CUUCK STOP... YOURE A GENIUS

  • Chuck is such a good writer. I didn't realize how much I loved "Bad Grass Never Dies" until I finished it and wanted more. Great stuff.

  • Chuck we luv ya.

  • I'm not sure I buy that he never used drugs, but he would have been brilliant either way. His books are great as well. I'm glad to see he's doing well today. Keep bringing the Stuff, Chuckie.

  • I just absofreakinglutely love Chuckie! Not only is he a Philadelphian like moi, but I really do think he was a creative genius in his own right and nowhere near being appreciated for the impact and influence he's had on American Pop Culture positively.

  • gong show is the best of all time

  • murderer!!!! shame on you chuckie. noo i'm joking hahhahahh:) midlle east asia loves you too

  • He still looks great! He looks like he could still host a Gong Show Special if he wanted to. He created some terrific shows back then.

  • Chucks work and watching Chuck makes me feel happy!

  • didn't he killed 33 people and make movie about it?

  • I would say he is living proof why we need the freedom of information act. The act was rolled up by the patiot act not cool. We have had political prisoners that were jailed becasue of extreme prejudice nothing more. The only reason Ji Jaga was released was becasue of the freedom of information act. The FBI knew he was in Oakland at the time of the murders in LA but never disclosed that fact becasue JE Hoover wanted him jailed Hoover was an enemy of MLK too Hoover was a closet Queen that is fact

  • With all that said I loved the gong show yes I am old enough to have seen it air live.

  • Dude we all know the system is fucked. There's nothing we can do about it now. We've created a monster that will enslave us. Move to the woods and live off the land. People in urban and suburban areas will be slaves.

  • They don't have the machine as good as you think. Look up thermite and you will know what I mean. All we need is one good solar storm and all electronics not shielded are toasted. All these fly by wire planes have weakness and can be lost. Move to the woods nope learn how to live on less yes, learn how to build am shortwave radio and morse code that is the most versitile simple form of electronic comm that can reach around the globe without a satellite. I know how to catch fish grow veggies.

  • I would have sworn in a court of law that I thought he was high out of his mind while doing the gong show.

  • Still scratching his head. Chuckie Baby!

  • yes he did make the 1.98 beauty contest too

  • Yes He did

  • Didn't he also create the $1.98 Beauty Contest?

  • Haven't seen Chuckie Baby since The Gong show went off the air! He's aged--but haven't we all.

  • yeah, that was good.

  • Very interesting. I liked it.

  • I love you in the hetero way, hey

  • ASSASSIN!

  • lol
