  • This is a good workout but don't be fooled it will not burn 1000 Calories. The video is an hour long. You have to be continuously jogging up stairs breathing really hard for the entire video to get close to 1000 Calories.

  • Good video. I am going to start working out with your videos 2-3 times a week and see. Do you think if I start out without the weight s )for the upperbody one)getting comfortable with the movements I will be ok. I build muscle way to quick in my arms and I really need to lose some volume first.

  • Tonya girl you gotta do some weight training to get rid of the saggyness. like..... if your sagging on ur arms.... do bicep curls and tricep curls and stuff like that. if your sagging on your belly.... do alotta ab workouts to tighten your mid section. like leg raises, sit ups, or any abdominal workouts that include weights cud eliminate the saggyness. but you look GOOD!... with your results, your my motivation =)

  • @charms937 Unfortunately the only way to blast fat is Cardio... And the tweaking of insulin levels by avoiding foods which spike your levels and cause you to store fat.... Weight training will build muscles UNDER the fat. You have to metabolize your fat through the natural devices of your internal body. Get your heart pumping & your body to use the fat.

  • @YourLifeSizeBarbie a vacuum cleaner left on for an hour burns 1000 Calories. This video is an hour long. You do the math. BTW capitalise calorie to mean kilocalorie. It's similar to the difference between joule and kilojoule.

    On that note this workout will easily burn way more than 1000 calories = 1 Calorie, (but sleeping does too!)

  • @poohtimmy1 Lots of cardio burns fat, but is your thigh problem from muscle or excess flesh? You can search on the internet for exercises make muscles leaner. I think its low weight high reps...

  • @TonyaTko its not muscle..i would say excess fat yea my thighs more not lean they are more chuncky n still rub...another q i notice my back rolls are almost gone now but my stomach seems to hang more saggy than before.. its getting smaller but more saggy...any suggestions?....

  • @poohtimmy1 I notice when I lose weight too quickly ie: Starving, I tend to get saggy. Eat right, exercise, do cardio as well as weight train and I remain nice and firm and lose weight gracefully

(9:18) On a side not I always enjoy watching Tonyas fitness vidz when she her weight is around 200. At this weight she looks very curvy and sexy!   • I first want to say that I really like ur videos and I watched this one and the only criticism that I have is the way you are lifting the weights(around 10 minutes) If you do the same thing but bending your knees more and keeping your back straight(not bending over) you get the same results and you don't have to stretch your lower back afterwards and it's safer. You are working just as much without the extra unneeded pain. Other than that the workout was great!! Keep up the good work

  • Im wearing a heart rate monitor which shows how many beats per minute my heart is beating and according to that, mulitplied by my age and the duration of the exertion, it shows how many calories have been burned. I didnt explain this in the video?

  • Help me out @Walk. Do a little research on Polar heart rate monitors and then come back. I trust my $269 piece of machinery. I'm not a big perspirer. I simply dont sweat much no matter what I'm doing. I don't even wear deodorant. Cross country skiing burns more than 1,000 calories per hour and you're just standing up. Please do a little research before contributing opinion. My being out of shape also burns more calories. And I stated this in the video.

  • LOL, well you're standing up moving. Nonetheless, different people according to their level of fitness, age and weight will burn calories at different rates. You used something you saw on TV as your barometer for how many calories a show says was burned... NOT a good start. All I said was do your research. I'm the person WITH the HR monitor telling you from the exercises I did 1,000 calories was burned during this workout. This is not hearsay or hollywood. This is firsthand. Do you doubt that?

  • I only burned 130 calories ;0(, but I've been active since the summertime with walking and running. It was a little slow for me, but it's a good beginners video, a good intro into fitness, I know as you keep going we're gonna "pump it up" some more and do more reps with more weights. Can't wait.

  • Feist, something's probably wrong if you only burned 130 calories. Just sitting down we burn 1500 calories in 12 hours. So in one hour at a desk we burn 100 cals. If you did this entire video, worked out for one hour and only burned 130. I'd need to know what was up. Whats your RHR, what was your HR during the vid. You'd burn 300 cals from light walking for an hour. What method did you use to determine your calorie loss?

  • well, I have my bodybugg that I've been using for over a year. When I have my most active days I burn about 2600 calories. I have an active job and walk over 10000 steps a day plus I jog regularly. When I'm not active I burn about 1600-1800 calories a day. My bf is a personal trainer and on average he burns over 3300 calories daily with the bodybugg. My bodybugg is pretty acurate and I don't think anything is wrong with me. I did the entire vid, but didn't bring up a sweat.

  • Okay thats great to hear. So let do the math, your 1600 -1800 cals is for 12 hours? or 24 hours? Bcz if its 12 then 1700 div. by 12 is 141. So you burned Less calories doing this workout for an hour than sitting down watching TV? Something sounds wrong. Just standing up alone or doing ANYTHING should burn more cals than sitting... down not less. Why do you think this is happening? Lets get to the bottom of this. Whats your RHR?

  • no tonya, U didn't say that sitting down alone i burn 1700 calories. what I stated or meant to state was when i didn't do exercises during the day I usually burn 1600-1800 calories, not just sitting down alone, I don't know who could just sit there and do nothing for a whole day. When I'm sleeping or just sitting I burn 1 calorie per minute. Which would equate to 60 calories in an hour.

  • (con't)During the workout my bodybugg said I was burning about 2.0/min. As I stated before, I did not break a sweat during your workout also there were a lot of breaks taken during the video. My heart was not pumping as much as yours nor was a sweating as much as you. Like i said, it seems like a good beginner workout for those that are not physically active.

  • @Med, Lets look into this. Please ask your trainer why one way over the other? I've trained with different types of ppl and each has a diff preference. The Body builder I worked out with didnt count reps, he just worked until he couldnt work the muscle anymore (fatigue) he said something amount gaining bulk that way, another trainer swore by low weights high reps for women, (but I dont have the patience for 30 reps @ 2lbs lol) Another split the sets btwn.

    So lets do some research and converge.

  • Thanks for the feedback Med, I thought we did do everything 3 times. Twice first time around then once more at the end to equal 3 sets at ten reps. Would you prefer all 3 sets together? I break it up bcz I hate monotony and the trainer I worked out with 2 years ago always broke up our sets, we'd do two switch muscles do a different exercise then do 2 more. I never asked why.

    the general rule to lose weight people always say "RIGHT DIET and GOOD EXERCISE" thats it!!!!

    i tried low cholesterol, low salt diet, and more exercise. 30 mins cardio everyday for 3 months and another 3 months 30mins cardio every other day. i lost 50 pounds for 6 months. i felt great and hope you can do it!

  • Tonya, good try, but keep your food out of sugar, white flour, potatoes, corn and eat more foods from mesogian cuisine (Greek and Cretan foods with pure olive oil and fresh vegetables and fruits. If you try to loose weight and keep fit only by gymnastic, no results. Love & kisses from Greece.

  • Excersize isn't my thing. It's not like I REALLY want to, either. I don't gain weight or fat easily either. It's not like I have to keep a figure. XP I don't have curves or nuthin', so I'll just stay ol' creepily-thin me. LOL

    But I could use the exercise for my heart. Cardio and Aerobic (and maybe some anaerobic?) excersize is needed for a healthy circulatory system, as well ask skeletal. The pain of excersize DOES feel good, though. On those ULTRA rare occasions I do excersize. My (sp)=Bad.

  • @Salty, you're so funny. Being fit isnt about losing weight. For those who are unfit with excess fat exercises will return their bodies to their optimal size and weightloss is a natural side effect for those who are holding extra fat. You should definitely get involved in some sort of sport. Do you think skinny = healthy? Thin folks die of heart attacks & colon disease every day. Eat right & exercise & you'll be ok. Like you said your bones, circulatory syst, heart & muscles need it! :)

  • Tonya, the effort was there. but direction lost! wall squats are ok I guess, But what concerened me was that pivoting kick while the foot you stood on did not rotate as well! The running in place?..I can think of other activities to get your body in shape without all that DAMAGING impact. hollanack if you're ready to log off and really get down to business....no strings, no charge!

  • It's so much fun! I love the theme and it definitely gets the heartrate up. I've done this a couple of times with my roommate and we both end up giggling the whole time (in a good way). Drinking lots of water!
